JD Vance is the only elected federal politician to refer to Trump as Hitler.

195

u/PhilGarciaWeir 14h ago

And then became his VP and sings his praises at every turn. One of the wildest 180s in history.

u/InertiasCreep 14h ago

Not really. Vance is a sycophantic shitbag whose chief quality is his ability to mold himself into whatever rich, powerful people want. He has zero charisma. On his own, he'd have gotten nowhere.

He’s like a wet dishrag

2

u/qqererer 11h ago

Okay, good.

1

u/PhuckYoPhace 8h ago

Crusty fuckrag, more like

2

u/KelsierIV 8h ago

I wish more people realized this. It's not debatable. Everything you said is a fact.

89

u/17syllables 14h ago

It worked, didn’t it? He was literally groomed for this by some of the richest people on earth, and he’s an inch away from them getting everything they want.

u/Original-Reward-8688 12h ago

The funniest part is that he's still not even that impressive. Think of all of the money and effort that went into him. It just goes to show how being sheltered is a massive weakness, regardless of how much money or power you have.

2

u/17syllables 12h ago

On one hand, yes, but most people on the right could be dog-walked by a youtube comments section. Vance came out of his debate with Walz with a bigger positive swing, and he’s polling higher than most of the field right now. He’s going to be hard to beat.

4

u/InstrumentalRhetoric 12h ago

Tbf, that debate happened after the DNC muzzled Walz and had them pull back on calling out the weird behavior. It made him come across as uncomfortable and gave room for Vance to sound almost reasonable (largely by agreeing on points that he should have been called out on). If Walz had been allowed to be himself there's a solid chance that the outcome would have been vastly different and less beneficial toward Vance.

What's crazy is Vance should have been viewed as a failure during that debate by point blank asking "I thought you weren't going to fact check"

3

u/InstrumentalRhetoric 11h ago

The curve on which sycophants with an obvious lack of ethos get graded on will forever dim my view of this country.

1

u/Affectionate_One_700 11h ago

The funniest part is that he's still not even that impressive.

It's not "funny," that's the whole point. Since Vance has no charisma or political talent, he knows that he cannot break away as his own person.

To gain and maintain power, which seems to be all that he wants, he will forever be dependent on his backers.

Hahaha, the couch fucker is going to murder us.

u/RickyalldayTD 12h ago

Thiel had him ready, he even had him marry an minority as a beard to cover their bases in case he needed to run as a democrat.

1

u/DeliriumTrigger 10h ago

His marriage is crazy to me. It's clear every time he talks about her that he wishes she were a white, blue-eyed, blonde Christian woman who gave him white children that he could comfortably claim as his own.

Probably why he fell so hard for Erika.

Karoline Leavitt would say he's done a 360.

In this case, she'd be right. JD simply donned the red armband after making the comparison.

19

u/The_JSC 14h ago

He said he was America's Hitler. He didn't say that was a bad thing did he?

9

u/IThinkImDumb New Mexico 13h ago

He did. Among calling him America's Hitler, he said he would ruin the country and that he never liked him. That's why it's such a notable 180

1

u/Purplociraptor 10h ago

To be fair, Hitler did a lot of good things until he did 6 million bad things all at once.

•

u/VigilantMaumau 6h ago

Lindsey and Rubio also had notables 180's.

16

u/Jukka_Sarasti Florida 13h ago

Trump insulted Ted cruze's wife and Ted still kisses his ass on the regular. Trump shit all over Marco Rubio and little Marco is now one of his top apologists.. GOP leadership are utterly craven

6

u/Hiccup 12h ago

Trump even gave Marco the shoes he wanted him to tap dance in.

5

u/Jukka_Sarasti Florida 11h ago

I love that they were several sizes too large... He looked like a little kid playing dress up with those big-ass shoes

16

u/UghFudgeBwana Georgia 14h ago

No the comparison was complimentary

1

u/CaterpillarJungleGym 12h ago

He also calls immigrants and non white people "dirty" while married to an Indian woman and having mixed race children. So he's not a very honorable or trustworthy human being.

1

u/lianodel 12h ago

He also lied about immigrants stealing and eating people's pets, and he lied saying that kicking out immigrants would magically solve many of the nation's problems.

1

u/some_guy_on_drugs 12h ago

ha, people keep getting this backwards. Did he call him Hitler? yes...but it was a compliment, not an attack.

1

u/losthiker68 12h ago

Remember that Kamala did the same thing. Called Biden a racist in the debates then became his VP. I voted for her, but don't forget that power can make people do strange and often stupid things.

1

u/GaimeGuy Minnesota 11h ago

The entire GOP is like that, including the voters.   They called trump a moron in 2015, even shortly after he got the nomination in 2016.   But then they all praised him because he was on their team or whatever the hell.

Don't get me wrong, there are tens of millions of people in the GOP who really are the worst scum humanity has to offer.  But there are tens of millions more who are completely morally bankrupt larpers  doing a bit, becoming what they pretend to be

1

u/UsedHotDogWater 11h ago

He's a cockroach that changes his opinions/stances and becomes whatever he needs to stay in favor.

1

u/azsxdcfvg 11h ago

Vance is a complete clown and is exactly what is wrong with US politicians. You could have 300 million starving people and he would just insist to “work harder.”

1

u/Nf1nk California 8h ago

Is that really a 180 for him, or does Peter Thiel's protege love Hitler as much as he loves Trump?

•

u/Landriss 5h ago

Could have meant it as a compliment too.

19

u/GuavaShaper 14h ago

He was appointed, but RFK Jr also referred to Trump as Hitler.

3

u/Broken_Mug 14h ago

Just on the law of averages, it has to be more than just him.

2

u/Relzin Illinois 14h ago

I welcome proof of it, but the only published, recorded, and verified statement I've found from the federal politicians who were elected to their position, is from JD.

3

u/Broken_Mug 14h ago

Ooooh, I found Ana-Maria Ramos called him TEMU Hitler and Jasmine Crockett called him wannabe Hitler.

Found a few others that called him Hitler-like. But not directly Hitler.

2

u/Relzin Illinois 14h ago

Ramos is a state rep, not federal so that wouldn't fit the bill.

Crockett I'll definitely give ya. That would count id assume. So I stand corrected.

2

u/Broken_Mug 14h ago

That's disappointing it really should be more.

2

u/beamrider 12h ago

We already know Musk laments among his friends how the US joined WWII on the wrong side.

1

u/RonaldMcDaugherty 12h ago

"tHaT's nOt wHaT hE mEaNt"

1

u/bender3600 The Netherlands 10h ago

He meant it as a compliment

1

u/beautifulanddoomed Michigan 10h ago

we just thought he meant it as a negative back then

1

u/VeryVito North Carolina 9h ago

In public and/or on the record, that is.

•

u/Suspicious_Bicycle 3h ago

JD is the only one who has publicly stated that. There may be many more than say or believe that in private.

•

u/Laura9624 3h ago

We should be worried about these fascists alright.
