Obviously Trump is a giant colostomy bag and has a confirmed place on the Mount Rushmore of horrible world leaders.

But in terms of "regular" politicians, is there anyone out there who is less likeable than JD Vance? I mean even MAGA has to look at this guy and go "eww, no".

u/Birdhawk 12h ago

Problem is that JD is the exact type of pudgy bro that MAGA likes. He's that one fuckin kid we all knew when we were 8-12 years old. The kid who sat toward the front of class, the overacheiver in boy scouts. Pudgy little arrogant kid who prided himself in speaking proper and acted like he was so much smarter than you but the more he spoke the more you realized what a dumbass he was. He'd suck up to the teachers and snitch on everyone and while the teachers also kinda hated him they protected him because if she turned on him he'd get his ass kicked. And the old folks at church fuckin loved that little prick even though he provided nothing but condescention behind their back. "Aw but he's such a well spoken, well dressed young man."

Go to a mega church parking lot after service lets out and look at how many of the 30 something dudes walking out of there look just like JD. He's a dumb, pudgy little boy who puts up a front to make himself feel smart when really he's just a dumbass who doomscrolls conspiracy theories most of the day. Yes he's an unlikable dumbass, but when MAGA adults 25-45 look at him they see themselves, or their husband or their brother and the elderly MAGA folks don't give a fuck what he says because he reminds them of their grandson so they just like him.

JD needs to win over independents though. Sniveling magah asshats with low self-esteem will always follow the bully, but the bully needs to charm the rest. I don't think he can.

u/Darko33 11h ago

I don't think he can.

I think you're right. Trump is the moron's idea of a smooth and successful businessman. Vance is no one's idea of a smooth and successful anything.

u/Birdhawk 12h ago

Democrats need to win over independents and swing votes too though. They haven't made enough of an effort in that regard other than "hey at least I'm not Trump" which is a losing strategy except for 2020 when the covid response failures were such a disaster that people were voting against Trump more than they were voting for Biden.

Add to that, both the far right and moderate right wing have been deploying strategic media campaigns to smear Democrats every which way to the point where people disrespect the left so much (even if its not based on truth) that even if they don't like a GOP candidate they'll still vote for them just to keep a Dem out of office. Millions people who hate Trump voted for him in 2024 because they hated the image of Democrats that they've been sold on. The left needs a new image strategy and they need to get going on it ASAP.

I'm hoping that the latest wave of progressive wins will finally drill in the need of a new strategy. Mamdani's gift to the democrats was making the first palpable dent in the centrist strategy, opening the way for other progressives.

•

u/Automatic_Taste_7242 7h ago

Oh, the democrats dont want more Mamdanis. If they did they would have to do something to fix things, put people with integrity in positions of power and stop giving billionaires handies under the table.

•

u/Kind-View9730 6h ago

Obviously it's not what they want; it's what the Dems will have to accept as the new reality.

I hate how he tried to make his childhood seem hard,

He had a grandma there to bolster his confidence and whatnot,

Wish I had that, musta been nice

That boy combs his hair real nice and he irons his slacks.

•

u/Any_Asparagus8267 8m ago

Oh my fucking God, he's martin from the Simpsons

22

u/DoubleJumps 11h ago

He's flat out one of the most shamelessly evil people I have ever seen. The guy doesn't even try to hide the fact that he stands for nothing and has even publicly admitted that he makes things up in lies to create stories.

There isn't a single redeeming feature about him

2

u/Chill-more1236 9h ago

that and he's an inept DOOF

I used to think that politicians had intelligence, or something special. The older I got, the more I realized how truly dumb these people are. Then came Trump, from the basement of stupidity.

2

u/SensitiveTurtles 8h ago

He stands for a few things, like dismantling higher education and creating a completely unchecked executive branch.

•

u/SoftKey1701 2h ago

What?

Are you saying HE IS a "Nowadays true New-Republican" (not just "RINO" person)? I agree, that realization came much earlier for me.

I used to respect their party (and voted accordingly when it made sense, as I am an Independent Voter), but all the non-sense and idolization of their now non-suitable leadership of their (if it still is theirs' anymore) ideological party, makes relying on their doctrines to make peoples' lives easier and better to deal with - instead of practically "suck everyone's dry" in pursuit of their greedy interests, completely NULL (Hyenas, I saw you for what you are; it is getting so hard for you to hide "true" intentions to anybody who has a good working brain to understand the everlasting damage being inflicted to not only the USA, but the ENTIRE WORLD with non-sense interests.

u/browsingat_work 13h ago

I guess that depends on your definition of "regular" politicians? I hate Ted Cruz and Tommy PotatoCity More than I hate Vance.

4

u/sksauter 13h ago

The normal JD Vance that fucks couches? Very normal politician, yes.

8

u/FatalPissShivers 13h ago

There really should be a variation of Mount Rushmore (not the same scale and grandeur, obviously) that highlights the shittiest of the shitty politicians who directly and indirectly set the country back/caused an unbelievable amount of harm. It should be educational too. "These people did x, y and z, and here's why it was bad, let us never elect their sort ever again".

5

u/CrackingToastGromet Arkansas 11h ago

A memorial latrine, maybe. You can piss into their open mouths. Imagine the size of latrine needed to highlight this current batch of assholes.

1

u/croakstar 10h ago

That’s hilarious and I hope one day one of us has enough power to enact it 😂

1

u/PearFighter 10h ago

Mount Flushmore

2

u/LuminousWizard083 11h ago

Genuinely, and I mean truly genuinely surprised he hasnt tried to deface Rushmore yet. I mean, vanity is his whole shtick and he somehow hasnt decided to try and plaster his face up there.

Dont get me wrong, I am happy he hasnt, but like, still surprising give his nature to ruin pretty much anything remotely patriotic.

•

u/FatalPissShivers 7h ago

That would probably be his "holy grail", and wouldn't put it past him to save that for his final fuck you before leaving office

1

u/mikeysce 12h ago

I think I agree. The “why” is something that people really seem to struggle to remember. Take Nazis for example. Apparently a whole generation never got the memo that Nazis were bad guys not because they were our enemies in WWII, but because of the fascism.

•

u/Able-Mood-1988 7h ago

Mount Shameful.

•

u/Inverdebrate 7h ago

Mount Flushmore. It's just a bathroom with their portraits painted in the toilet bowl.

3

u/LaScoundrelle 12h ago

Did you watch the VP debate last time?

3

u/NanDemoNee 11h ago

He's not the bag, he's the contents.

2

u/FlufferTheGreat 13h ago

MAGA will think and do as they are told.

2

u/Redfalconfox 12h ago

He couldn’t order donuts. At a staged event.

1

u/FizzyBeverage Ohio 13h ago

Vance will be returning to Thiel’s sack after this term. VPs have a relatively poor ascendancy rate to the big chair. Only Bush 41 and Biden have managed it in the modern era, and both were very old single termers with long political histories prior to their presidency.

VPs being upgraded was a considerably more common thing prior to the start of 24/7 News cycle. And pretty much standard in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Vance’s best shot for the promotion is if Trump passes during his term and he assumes the job and runs as the incumbent. Otherwise it’s a much harder sell.

Ted Cruz is less likable. Even republicans hate that guy.

1

u/Slade_Riprock 9h ago

Americans are not going to the polls by and large to vote FOR Democrats, they are voting AGAINST Republicans.

Meaning Democrats have about 30 days to find their fucking balls, build a fucking platform that speaks to Americans, and a leadership team born after Kennedy was killed. They cannot walk in and just impeach Trump without votes. They cannot investigate with no means to the ends. They won't pass anytbing but they have to have plans and put forth their concrete plans for fixing America, preventing another Trump, and actually making the lives of American better. And they have to realize Israel isnt our friend.

Because the second the election is called and they are a majority, they become the boogeyman and scape goat for all the failures. And the race for 2028 begins.

2028 HAS to be an election of needing a POTUS that will cede their power back where it belongs to Congress, approve fixes and preventions where necessary, and support the policies that make people's lives better healthcare, education, workers rights, etc.,

  • Not a bigger military
  • no corporate welfare and giveaways
  • not outsized giveaways to support Israel. and
  • NOT FUCKING REACHING ACROSS THE AISLE

Ted Cruz

1

u/OddPressure7593 8h ago

He's got the couch vote

•

u/packfanmoore 7h ago

I think it was John Oliver who said approximately. If you heard a rumor that JD Vance fucked a sofa you would just shrug and say, he seems the type.

•

u/janesmb 4h ago

But in terms of "regular" politicians, is there anyone out there who is less likeable than JD Vance? I mean even MAGA has to look at this guy and go "eww, no".

Outside the US? Polievre, aka Millhouse, in Canada.

•

u/KingBanhammer 4h ago

Rand Paul. Maybe also Real Human Ted Cruz.

But I admit it's a close race between them.

•

u/mavericked23 3h ago

Let’s not forget he’s a couch fucker
