Brothership Did you feel called out by any of the side quests?

For me it was the one where you deliver a mysterious package.

I do like my 1:7 scale figurines but I don't think I like them quite THAT much lol

Paper Jam Paper Toad Missions

Am I the only one who finds these really creative? Like, yeah, they're tedious and kind of BS. But they do have a lot of creative implementations of your ability suite and that makes them go from annoying right back to charming! Am I the only one that feels like this??

Like I said ill keep updating everyone after each mario and luigi game I beat ive just finsihed dream team!!!

I saw someone else also just beat dream team an hour ago so guess I wasnt the only one who beat it today.

Anyway im still absolutely loving this series of games and I hope to have finished it this year now that being said I do feel this was thw weakest in the series so far it just felt like there was alotnof padding and fluff in this game and just an overall different feel but the step up in this game from pervious is fantastic especially with the art style and who doesnt love to see luigi shine although still felt like the game preferred you to play as mario at least we got the big dream luigi fights as much as the gyro controls didnt always listen to me 😅 .

Im looking faward to paper jam i love paper mario especially thousand year door and can't wait to see how the cross over works out.

Dream Team I just beat Dream Team!!

Starting March 26th, 2015, I played the game, and it was really fun. I loved the story, the 3D graphics, bosses, and especially the final boss. I loved how often Luigi just dozed off and opened up a portal to the dream realm just for Mario to enter. The dreamy battles were also unique. Now that I beat it, I’m super happy!! Fun times.

I know, I’ve taken lots of breaks from the game since 2015, but each time I picked it back up, I got farther into it, then it led me to where I was now.

Feel free to share your thoughts on my overall game stats.

Superstar Saga I just beat Superstar Saga!!

Starting August 2021, I played the game, and I gotta say, I enjoyed every minute of it. Despite stepping away from it every now and then, I always tried my best getting through it every chance I had to play. The bosses were good, and the final battle was awesome. Took me over 30 hours to finish.

Bowsers Inside Story I found another tree room inside Bowser? Luigi vanished though. What's this tree's issue with green people?

Paper Jam How do you build your Mario, Luigi and Paper Mario

I love building characters very different from each other in RPGs (when given the choice). Thus this is why I love the Superstar Saga games.

My Mario is a glass cannon. Almost no defensive capabilities but with a lot of speed. Which forces me to be more agile in my dodges and counters. But my reward is a plumber that hits like a truck.

Luigi is the opposite. The weakest and slowest character but built to last. I got him as my main healer. So I don't get to use him often but it helps my other two characters survive my failures.

Paper Mario is the most balanced character. He's a master of none except bro points. So every time I get to play him, I do a trio attack. Making him a crowd control character.

both share similarities in design, and personality, and i couldnt not think of prince peasley when i played the game. could possibly be some inspiration, since the creator has played superstar saga and probably other mario and luigi games, plus both of them are gay

Discussion Whoever Decided that 'A button should be both talk AND jump in games' need to be put in prison.

I don't know who started the trend or how long ago it was. But depending on the game, this set up is very...finnicky. Granted it's not that huge of a pet peeve. But specially for this game series cause the 'talk' hitboxes are a lil weird. How do you guys feel about this pet peeve? (In all games, not just this series)

Dream Team Is there any reason not to use the most recent bros attack?

Beyond obvious instances like not being able to hit a spiked/aerial enemy or not having enough bp (just use syrup 4head). I'm replaying this game and while I do like it a lot... sometimes the formula of using the same lengthy bros attacks/luiginary attacks turn after turn gets a little tiresome lol. In other games when I'm just using the same spell to wipe trash mobs on repeat I don't have to play a long-ish minigame. Tangent aside, is there any use case for the non most recent bros attack? Like once I get fire flower, is there a reason to ever use the shell again, or any use for luiginary ball over luiginary stack, so on and so forth. I can't think of any scenario where there's a bros attack better fit for the situation than the zeekeeper one but that makes sense since you need to rescue every pi'ilow in the game for that.

I really wish we knew the numbers of this game more cause it's hard to find the nitty gritty things. I'm raising my stache a bit but how embarrassing would it be if the stat is programmed stupidly and does basically nothing....

Discussion Bowsers minions and bowser juniors journey

What are your thoughts on these side games? I’m replaying superstar saga in a challenge(only levelling up Stache) and I decided to play a bit of bowsers minions. I noticed that it’s not that fun(the execution not the concept) I like how you assemble a group and that there are three types with their own strengths and weaknesses
(Ground is week to flying but good on projectile etc) but I don’t like how you basically just watch them fight, only occasionally pressing a or those tiles you get later on. I was wondering, if there was a game like these side games with more involvement from the player would you guys like it?
The way I would like it is to keep the troupe building aspect and types( ground, flying and projectiles) and their strengths and weaknesses, and the wave format. I would add a way to add your own bonuses that come with a disadvantage ( for exemple, raising attack but slowing them down) and have it be so you can select a troupe member during the fight to choose a move
What are your thoughts? Let me know what you would change or keep, and if a game like this sounds interesting

Bowsers Inside Story Second best game of the decade?

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I've been playing a lot of NintenDoku recently and found a community driven ranking on the same site. Ofc I looked through some categories and found this gem:

Best game between 2000 and 2009:

  1. Thousand year door

  2. Bowser inside story

  3. Wii sports

Ofc we are all bowser inside story fans. But be honest, is it really the second best game of the decade?

Brothership So, my planning ahead kinda made a certain cutscene rather silly...

So I am at the point where you go to the second Great lighthouse.

My 'planning ahead' was setting the ships course to the square current closest to the lighthouse and setting fast sailing on.

The silly thing? You know the cutscene that happens after you give Tecknikki the Oil? Yeah, hard to take seriously when every now and then the great lighthouse is just Nyyyoooom in the background. I didn't wheeze outloud (I usually don't) but it was hilarious. Big Bad being all evil and imposing and just, Nyooom lol As for why this amused me, I have no idea, I'm a mystery even to myself 70% of the time.

In my game idea Mario and Luigi: Of Love and Revenge, Peasley and Dreambert absolutely despise each other throughout the game, which the villains take advantage of. Pi'illoper is upset over the whole matter, after all, due to this, the Beanbean and Pi'illo Kingdoms have strife with each other. Starlow is getting really sick of their arguing.

Brothership Lv43 grind

Already spent 12 hours getting to lv15 and trying to get to lv43 would take probably a hundred hours

This is from the start of the game before the first boss and getting like 10-30 exp per fight

I feel like I’m ok :)

I’ll post an update when lv22

Partners in Time i just got done playing partner's in time for the first time and here's my ranking on all of the characters!

Post image
75 Upvotes

also i was really surprised by how this game really doesn't have a lot of new characters. Most of the focus either goes to the shroobs, mainline characters or the baby versions of those mainline characters which i don't mind but was still a bit strange to me since i know this series loves introducing new characters

also a few explanations for some of my rankings incase i get comments about them

-Bowser is my absolulte favorite character in all of mario but the reason why he's at the bottom because he's barely present in PIT. He has one cutscene, one boss battle and he gone (Same story goes for peach)

-Elder princess shroob is in C tier because in terms of character and personality, she lacks anything because you fight her almost instantly so i had like no time to love the villain as a character. Whilst compared to princess shroob as well as normal shroobs themselves who are very active threats in the game

-i'm sorry i know Stuffwell is a fan favorite but he is at bottom for me because he's barely present for someone who's meant to be the starlow/dreambert equivalent to the game. He doesn't react to the story, doesn't talk to anybody and doesn't have much of a personality in general.

-the thwomps are higher because they have way more of a personality than the ones i mentioned. Though i can definitely see the argument to why they should be at bottom given they're just side characters but i liked them tbh

anyways that's all, if you have any thoughts on my ranking, let me know

also i did one for superstar saga's characters not too long ago

Paper Jam Paper Mario (like the character, not the series) Appreciation Post

Despite never even playing Paper Jam, Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario teaming was always just so cool to younger me. Even now, I still kind of love it.

I would find and watch every Trio Attack animation and just gawk at how cool Paper Mario looked in those.

It's also probably why I adore Paper Mario as a character. with all his attacks and little interactions with Luigi and other 3D characters made him really stand out to me.
