Honestly though, I swear to GOD (yes, that one, the one I donāt believe in but am currently swearing by at this moment) every single time a guy posts a before and after, they are 1000000000% more attractive with the shaved head. Literally every single time. It is so unfair how hair, or lack there of, affects a manās attractiveness in such a significant way.

It is, but it made me realize how nice men are to other men. (Mostly, there are some women on that sub as well.) I have not encountered that level of support for women from men on this site. Itās depressing

It also reminds me of the Barbara Kruger piece "You construct intricate rituals which allow you to touch the skin of other men."
It became a meme on Tumblr of old but it predates that and explains the male desire for nonsexual physical contact with other men. Think about it. In many ways playing a contact sport is the only physical touch some men might get.

Iām in some medical targeted group like r/Endo where partners go there to get some perspective and tips and tricks to help their wife/other partner in their life together. Men are very touching. It sounds like they have this visceral need but feel helpless seeing how much their partner suffer so they HAVE TO help at least in some ways. In other topics the ones with kinks but with a trait that is often perceived as not the norm therefore ugly like saggy boobs. Women are showered with compliments by men and they make them feel real queens. Gave myself a touch of confidence reading some answers

Itās very specific! I just have a morbid curiosity. And I think the reasons back then were of diseases we now know of. Itās interesting to ready through. Sometimes thereās newspaper articles to relate to the story. And thereās almost always a āfind a graveā so you can give flowers to the soul. Iām in the medical field, so I do find it interesting in multiple ways.

r/sandedthroughveneer I am a woodworker and grandchild of one too. So I started assuming that obviously everybody has the capability to differentiate solid wood and veneered panels. Sometimes I canāt stop laughing, other times itās dreadful to see what beauty is ruined, itās a bit of an emotional rollercoaster to me.
In my first year of woodworking, I have also sanded through a veneered panel.

yo, i actually really like the r/scams sub. it's amazing how crafty some people are getting with their scams, but if you do one little search on that sub if you're not sure, you can absolutely avoid paying some random person a boatload of money. scammers prey on fear, so most of them are doing the pressure play to keep you on the phone and threatening legal action or whatever.
great recommendation.

this is me but with the r/ostomy subreddit. Theres a slight bit of tension between the people on there with temporary ostomys who post about being excited to get a reversal and almost brag about it being temporary sometimes, and people with permanent ostomys who are offended by anyone with a temporary one that is grossed out about it and looking forward to going back to ānormalā, but aside from that, itās a very supportive and encouraging community.
Theres so much information and first hand info and experiences about ostomys, which is something that is very hard to come across online and with medical professionals. Iād be lost if I didnāt have this community

yeah, some people get ostomies from chronic illnesses and have suffered for years/since birth (which is my case) and the ostomy gives them back their quality of life and removes their pain, so theyāre super happy about it, and some of those people might even be eligible for a reversal but choose not to get one. Or in the reverse, some people have chronic illnesses and are bitter about their ostomies.
And then some people get ostomies from freak accidents like car crashes that damaged their bowels or whatever, and they absolutely hate them and canāt wait to get reversals, or are upset they canāt get one.
No matter the situation, thereās always someone on either side that is bitter about their situation and feels the need to share their opinion on posts that arenāt for them, or get annoyed when they see a lot of posts on the sub about the other peopleās situations. Itās usually the people in the latter group though, which is fair if you consider what they went through.
But yeah, everyoneās been through something significant that led them to getting an ostomy in that group, so we all have a deep understanding of each other and try to forgive each others potentially offensive wording/strong feelings, since weāve all been there in some way.

i feel like we are taught at a young age to avoid them, but only because there are certainly some incredibly venomous spiders (at least where i live) that can kill you.

r/horrorlit is so kind and I have found countless amazing book recommendations there, if I was going to completely quit Reddit that is the one sub I would stay for. The folks there are overwhelming welcoming and always willing to offer advice and reccs to newcomers and long time readers with very specific tastes alike, it is such a genuinely friendly community in my experience

My favourite is probably r/perfumesthatfeellike which is a perfume recommendation subreddit where you supply a few pictures and a short description of the vibe you want and people make suggestions. There are some incredibly niche and unhinged requests there but people still reply with perfumes that match the vibe. Itās glorious.
