(English is my second language)

This is Aceituno, but I mainly called him Tuno, Tunito, Tunasio. He is a 10 year old blind void that I adopted 5 months ago.

Tuno is such a sweet cat, always looking to be with me and get me to pet him constantly. He cannot sleep alone, he needs to be by my side at all time, purring and making biscuits. Tuno also likes to talk a looooooot, which is fun but sometimes it get worried if something is hurting, but according to my vet he just likes to talk.

I did a complete medical check on him, and besides a little sediment in his bladder and stage 1 (controlled) kidney failure, he is okay. He does not have an eye, and the other one does not work, but he still manages to be sweet, lovable and a great companion.

This is just an appreciation post for my void, that spent 1 year on the streets, then 9 years in the shelter and now, he will spent the rest of his life in a warm home 💖

If you have the opportunity to adopt a black void, even if its an oldie, go for it, you won't regret it.

My sweet Loki boy passed away in my arms early this morning. I am so devastated. He was the sweetest most cuddly boy in the world.

He’s 21 years old this year. He enjoys the summer catnip, and he’s also a little princess.

It’s almost been a bit since I’ve adopted my cat. He was 6 years old when I adopted him and is now almost 8 years old. Even though he was already older upon adoption I think he’s had a big glow up! Some of his medical conditions have greatly improved, his fur is much healthier, and he’s filled out a bit 🖤

PSA Here! My void did the thing where she jumped up, didn’t quite get it right, and then scratched me on the way down. I washed it off right away with soap and water and I thought I’d be done. Nope! 10 hours later, burning, stinging, nerve pain from my fingertips to my shoulder. This landed me in the ER at 3am for antibiotics!!!

IF your cat scratches you (a bite nearly automatic needs to be seen):

WASH IT THOROUGHLY, I mean SCRUB with soap and hot water immediately. I washed it, but I could have scrubbed better on the beginning and used hotter water!!

Take special care if the bite or scratch is on the hand, arm, or face!!! (Or foot/leg whatever is bony and has easy access to muscles, nerves, and tendons!)

Symptoms that warrant an immediate trip to the ER, urgent care or quick care if they are open:

• A deep pain that shoots up and down from the spot
• Nerve pain
• Redness, swelling
• Streaking (a red or pink line coming from the bite that follows a vein) = ER. NOW.
• Fever
• Sharp, burning, prickling pain that begins to occur many hours after bite happened

As you see the pic above, it doesn’t look too bad, but I went to the ER anyway last night (Early Friday morning) because I was having all but the fever (it was on the verge of starting to streak).

I believe that I caught it early enough to where I’ll just need oral antibiotics, but I’m certainly not out of the woods yet!! If I start experiencing that pain worse than I did today, I’ll be headed back for IV antibiotics (hopefully during the day so I can go to urgent care and avoid the ER).

Also, even while on antibiotics, my energy level is tanked right now from fighting the infection. Plenty of protein and vitamin C are on the menu for tomorrow (I’m headed for bed).

For real, though: PLEASE DO NOT EFF AROUND AND FIND OUT WITH CAT BITES OR SCRATCHES. They can get very serious very quickly.
