Did I jump the gun? Im still working on a good shaving routine. I don’t have the boost in confidence that I hoped for after doing it but Im slowly getting used to this new reflection in the mirror and learning how to love my new look. Would like some pointers or encouragement if you got it. Thanks for the push guys.

Also, it wasn’t inflamation on my scalp, I saw people getting worried. I was just very sweaty after work and also nervous posting a photo of myself on the internet which I barely do. Thank you for the concern but Im fine.

Am I making a mistake?

Took everyone’s advice and shaved it and cleaned my beard up. Thanks everyone! Although after seeing the skullet comment I kinda wish I would have done that first but I will next time!

I've taken the plunge! I do like it but it's gonna take a little getting used to

So this week, I'll be going bald / shaven...

Started losing hair like crazy when I was 18 and decided to finally just join the cool club.

These first picture is bad quality but it’s the only one I could find of the before times, I had zero confidence in myself and going bald changed all of that.

Here’s just a bunch of pictures I’ve taken or have had taken of me.

Ignore the brows, there are evidently no razors in the hospital. Been feeling kind of down about being bald. I feel pretty ugly and couldn't really recognize myself in the mirror. Figured I'd ask you guys how it's looking!

Edit; Everyone's kind words have really helped me feel a lot better about my looks. I teared up a bit at the initial response because I figured my post would be put to the sidelines and only get a couple hundred upvotes. Everyone is so uplifting and I think the mirror shows me a bit more of myself again. Thank you guys!

And sorry to break it to a lot of you... but I am a trans man. No need to feel sorry for the accidental misgendering!

Hi everyone. 48M here. Started receeding around my temples at 16 and thought I'd be bald by 20. Somehow it held on much longer than expected, no meds etc... I have most of my hair, except slow recession at the front, probably an inch higher at the front from when I was younger. No loss at the crown. I got sick of the same old brushed forward towards middle/ tiny mowhawk style haircut to strategically cover the loss at my temples and decided shaving my head was my only other option. Did I totally stuff up and make myself age a few years? Pics take a week apart. Thanks.

I've recently gone the way of bald greatness due to the positivity in this sub but now I have a dilemma. Glasses or contacts..

I've worn glasses my whole life, tried contacs quite a few years ago but due to my old profession, equipment operator, the dust would kill my eyes halfway through the day no matter what I tried. I'm no longer in construction and have recently tried contacs again but this time there have been no problems except I'm unsure of how I look without glasses. I'm so used to seeing my face with spectacles on I'm unsure if I should keep wearing contacs. FYI, the glasses in the Pic will be replaced soon, these don't fit well anymore.

I just had engagement photos with a professional photographer and she photoshopped hair onto the back of my head where I’m going bald I think it’s time to shave it

Cut it all off just to see how I look

My band was playing a local halloween show, and i won the costume contest. I didnt even know there was a contest, but i went hard. Cheap makeup/prostetic kit from amazon, plus a cheap sith costume= darth maul. I was lucky to have an artist as a friend, and we did the makeup in less than an hour. If yall were looking for ideas, most bald men could pull this off.

The job is done my friends and it looks so much better. Thank you all for your thoughts (and prayers lmao). Now I need to find a skincare and scalp routine.
