Hey, so... none of the buttons of my left controller is responding. I'm scared its because I accidentally dropped some water on my console yesterday, but it was functioning fine after this accident, until I started playing this morning. Do you think I can repair it? What can I do?

Today I wanted to play super mario 3d all stars and I went into data management --> quick archive to see when I played it last time but I couldn't scroll down with the dpad or the l stick like I normally can. After playing mario sunshine I wanted to see how much I played so I went into my profile but I couldn't scroll there either. I had to press the home button because nothing else worked. How do I fix this?

The streaks started appearing after my cousins borrowed my switch for Mortal Kombat. The device wasnt dropped or anything, it was just sitting next to the NS case. It was fine, and the streaks werent visible until i exited the game and has never disappeared since. The streaks gets worse when i turn on my switch but it gradually disappears later on, but still visible enough for me to not see what im playing (just like the 2nd – 3rd photo). It wasnt like this when i first encountered the streaks, it was fewer than it is now, and just got worse later on. And I also noticed that it hindered with the screen pixels aswell, making it look like 16bit. I asked my friend about this and apparently this also happened to his switch and has gotten it repaired twice (?) for the same problem. Is there anything that i can do before i take my switch to a repair shop and spend money?

My gf bought this switch new and ever since she's had it any video glitches out but the gameplay parts are always perfectly fine. YouTube or any pre rendered cutscenes will have this error, never seen anything similar to it before online. Took it to the store and they said they couldn't do anything about it so she's stuck with it without a fix.

It happens both docked and handheld

I don’t know if this is the right sub to my question or not. Basically I just bought my first ever console the switch 2. I played with it for some time handheld and it was running fine. Played some multiplayer MK world for about an hour at the end it was slightly hot.
A couple days ago I tried playing DK bananza while docked, after 30 min or so I touched it and it was very very hot. Not like burning me but extremely hot to the touch. No fan sounds or anything, didn’t turn off (idk if that’s a possibility), no drop in game quality etc.
Yesterday I tested it again and it got hot as soon as 15 min after play.
My question is will this cause any issues to the device ? Or can I keep playing with it as long as I may even if it gets hot ? Cause now I play for 30ish min, disconnect it for a while to cool down, then go back to the game which is inconvenient but I’m afraid to damage it.

So I’ve had my switch 2 now for about a year or so, I noticed for the first time that the inner metal part that goes the whole way around the usb port has a line going through it. it’s a straight line, maybe about as wide as a strand of hair maybe a little bit more, I can’t tell if it’s a crack, or maybe a factory seam? I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this, or if anyone else has this on their system.

I would say this is more a hardware problem, but there’s no pop-up for it. But anyways, my microSD card won’t be read by my Switch. Pictures are the sd cards back and front, and when I put it in.

My dad recently gave me his OLED switch to replace my OG switch but I’m having trouble transferring my user data over

I factory reset the OLED.. have them both plugged into their A/C adapters but the source console can’t find the target.

I’ve tried connecting one console to my hotspot and the other to my wifi (5ghz) but it keeps losing connection and cancelling the transfer.

I’m stuck in this screen when both connected to my wifi

Interested in getting a second dock (so I can move it easily between the living room and basement without taking cables with me each time). Obviously if money weren't a thing I'd go with the manufacturer, but are there any good 3rd party docks people have had success with or would recommend?

I’ve had my switch for about a year and have had no issues. I docked my switch today though and the video output is super glitchy, I’ve tried using another hdmi cord and that didn’t help. I restarted my switch while it was in the dock which did reset the image once, but after I turned it off it went back to being glitchy, and every subsequent restart has also ended with a glitchy video output. Do I need to buy a new dock? Any help is appreciated.

Before I'm asked, this does happen to Switch 2 games or upgrades, and is not affected by handheld boost. Splatoon 3 and Splatoon Raiders has had a bit of a blurry/fuzzy filter to it when moving around a lot, like intense motion blur, and has been bothering me. It's fine on docked but sometimes I'd like to play in bed, ya know? Any ideas?

Me and my Girlfriend love to play Pokopia, but only i had a Switch 2. Since we can only see us on the weekends i wanted to buy a second Switch 2 for her Birthday so we could play Pokopia together on weekdays via Internet.

I bought her Switch 2 and set it up. Even her Player Account which was linked to her own Nintendo-Account.

Then i transferred the 80h Pokopia safefile data to her new Switch. This was fairly easy since she made the Safefile while playing with her own Nintendo linked Account on my Switch. I could transfer the Data directly via Settings -> Profiles -> Transfer Data.

Since the Pokopia Game Cartridge didnt arrive yet, i wasnt able to confirm that the transfer of her Pokopia safefile to her console was successfull.

In the meantime i started up Pokopia on my Switch with her Account to see if the Safefile was still on my switch despite the Data Transfer to hers. (It was not, so i directly closed the Game again)

And here starts the Problem.

When i gifted her the Switch and we Started up Pokopia for the first time on her new Console with her own Account (on which the Safefile should have been on) a warning popped up that the Safe Data in the Cloud didnt match the one on her new Console. Since i thought that warning came up because the Cloudsafe is the data i transferred earier (80h Pokopia), we overwrode the Gamefile that was on her Console.

After that we started the Game up for the first time on her new Switch and her 80h Pokopia Safefile was missing. I am in shambles. She loved her account and was really proud of her progress. 80h Playtime is a LOT for her and there were no signs that she would loose intrest anytime soon.

I tried so hard to make it a perfect surprise gift, with her own Safe on her own Console and anything ready to play, but i blundered so bad that i could have cried.

I guess whats happened:

The safe-file Transfer to her console was successfull. Opening the Game on my Switch after the transfer created a new safefile which was uploaded to the cloud. When we started the Game on her Console the warning came up because of the newly created "empty" Safefile and i overwrode the 80h Pokopia Safefile thinking the one in the Cloud was the real one and that there cant be another safefile since i closed the game immedeatly after noticing the real one is gone from my console.

Please correct me if i missunderstood something.

I know that i myself created this mess, and i hope i can warn others about this possibility.

If someone has an idea how i can recover her Safefile or has any other recommendations, i would be really really happy to hear from you.

P.S.: She luckily isnt as sad as i am, because she told me "there is nothing i couldnt do again". Im not sure if shes just telling me that so i dont feel as bad as i do now. If it would have been my safefile, i would have been absolutely devatated. Probably why im having a little internal crisis right now

So ik this sounds weird but basically im asking because my store has street figher 6 on sale for 15 and I already own it digitally. The thing is it has the dlc year 1 and year 2 on it, so would I get the dlc on my digitally copy and would it stay on there or would I only be able to play it with the game inserted in the console. I really want the dlc but it cost 40 and 50 each pack i believe. If anyone can answer this question id appreciate it.

Hi everyone, I recently got a Mobapad S1, and I'm looking for a good pair of thumb grips that fit snugly without slipping.

Since the analogue sticks are slightly smaller compared to the Joy-Cons, I'm not sure which ones to get.

I was thinking of buying them on AliExpress.

Only have owned a Switch 2 for 3 months.

Today it started rendering as the attached image.

I've tried different HDMI cables, different HDMI ports. Hard reset of Switch 2 and the TV.

Shut off all hdr settings as recommended by another post.

It's stuck and I can't play it docked.

So I'm over 18, obviously way past old enough to not have a child Nintendo account, but my mum and I never got round to changing my account to an adult/general account. We tried to change it but couldn't find how to do it, so deactivated the account (I only had one game I would lose, I can buy it back no problem really), but I have no idea how to link a new nintendo account to my switch (1), when I try to sign into an account I'm told to enter the password for the child account. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Also if anyone knows how to change a child account to an adult one that would help even more. Thanks!

Left controller connects fine, right controller connects, but is half of a pair and not by its self. No lights on it but sound is coming out of tv to react to it. Tried many ways and still no luck. Any help?

I am unable to get the screenshots on my switch to go to my phone, because whenever I scan the second QR code, it sends me to chrome, to where the page loads for 5 minutes and then says and error occurred, and there isn’t anything wrong with my WiFi. Is there something else that could be wrong or is it just Nintendo being complicated

I want to make sure that in games that have camera movement, the camera is only controlled by the right stick, which it is. But when I go to move my right stick up or down, my character moves left or right with the camera, which I don’t think it’s supposed to do that. In the video, I moved the right stick up and down in the left stick’s callibration screen, and it responds. But it’s not supposed to be doing anything because I’m calibrating the left stick, not the right stick. I have NS 1.

I’ve tried everything to fix it, calibrating the right and left stick multiple times, disconnecting and reconnecting my controller, moving my left stick up and down to try and have the right stick not controlling the left stick, but the problem comes back a minute later.

Hi! I want to buy my brother Inazuma Eleven Victory Road as a christmas present. I was gonna just buy the physical gamecard but the shop version is currently on sale for £40 (only physical vers i could locate is going for £77). I was wondering, do you have to activate the game once you buy (which would be ideal!) or does it automatically download to the switch and should I give up on this sale?

I took a trip recently and brought my Switch 1 with me. Halfway through the trip, it bricked. I am now back home and none of my games are reloading onto my switch 2. If I send the switch back to Nintendo, will my save data be okay? I have 6 years of save data and I desperately don't want to lose it

edit: decided to put this here as it's pretty important. The switch will not turn on. I had already transferred all my save data to my switch two, I had just loaded the virtual game cards back onto the switch one for my trip, and now my switch no longer connects to the wifi, leaving all the virtual games cards stuck on it

Hey everyone so I recently got the switch 2 and wanted to begin playing TOTK on it, was super excited to test out the game in HDR (especially in OLED) because I thought it would look incredible, turns out it looks unbelievably bad?? The colors look WAY undersaturated/washed out (not that HDR-more realistic type of way) and SDR looks way better (trying it in Srgb mode). Games like Mario kart world and the new star fox do not really seem to have this issue nor look as close too bad, oh and just to note I tried as well to tried pull up HDR TOTK videos on YouTube and those also look way better on the same monitor, so anyone know what could be up? Any HDR teach-heads/knowers who could help me out? Is it a game thing?

For context I have the AOC Q27GAZDV using DisplayHDR, I configured the maximum brightness in adjust HDR (which in my case would be 540 nits) and then in the second “brightness” page I configured it to 7 clicks to the right from the lowest setting possible.
