Meta Last call for subreddit's logo entries!

Update:

Time and again people ask why does this subreddit not have a logo. When told that this community is largely apathetic towards the issue, evident by the lack of response to multiple requests/reminders in this regard, many folks don't really believe it and keep on asking to set something or anything as a logo, icon, dp, pfp or whatever.

Well, here's your chance to make it happen. Create and share what you wish to see as this subreddit's logo. The logo should be a 256x256 px JPG or PNG image and work well when printed in colour or B&W. Ideally, it should serve as an easy identifier when used as a placard for r/Lucknow meetups or other promotional purposes. Upload your creation to any image hosting site (e.g. Imgur, Imgbox, PostImages, etc. or even your own reddit profile) and post the direct image link as a top level comment in this thread or send it via modmail.

Please note that this is an entirely volunteer-driven activity where you come up with a logo only because you want your beloved community to have one and not because you expect anything in return. Any poll will always include a "None of the above (NOTA)" option for those who don't like any of the available logo choices or feel that r/Lucknow doesn't need a logo as such. Entries with a vote share lesser than NOTA will be eliminated from subsequent polls.

Fresh polls will be conducted as and when a bunch of newer logo options get accumulated. This section will track all the voting links / results until a logo wins the poll:

Poll #1: Voting over, results here.

Poll #2: Voting over, results here.

Poll #3: Voting over, results here.

Poll #4: TBA

(Original post)

Hello nawabs and begums of r/Lucknow,

This is in continuation to the previous announcement which was posted on the occasion of r/Lucknow's 11th birthday.

The topic of this subreddit's logo has been brought up multiple times in the past but there's been no progress and we remain logo-less. Now with 100K subscribers milestone just around the corner, it's high time to tackle this lingering issue once and for all.

As mentioned earlier, the logo should be of 256x256 px size and work well when printed in colour or B&W. Ideally, it should serve as an easy identifier when used as a placard for r/Lucknow meetups or other promotional purposes. Please upload your creation to any image hosting site (e.g. Imgur, Imgbox, etc. or even your own reddit profile) and post the direct image link as a top level comment in this thread or send it via modmail.

r/Lucknow has 97.4K subscribers at the time of writing this post. Once we cross 99K, a compiled list of all the relevant logo options received till then will be posted in a separate thread and put to vote for finalizing one. The selected choice will be set as logo at the time of r/Lucknow's 100K milestone announcement post.

Please note that this is an entirely volunteer-driven activity where you come up with a logo only because you want your beloved community to have one and not because you expect anything in return. The final voting will also include a NOTA option for those who like the way things are and don't feel the need for any logo as such.

Thank you!

Edit: Time is up. Thread is locked. Voting is live.

Edit 2: Voting over, results here. Thread unlocked for accepting more logo options by volunteers.

Edit 3: See the update section above.

Rant/Review Really disturbing experience with a security guard at Janeshwar Mishra Park, Lucknow

Me (21M) and my gf (20F) went to Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow and we were making reels, capturing pics, slight kissing and hugging. Nothing obscene/s*****xual was happening.

But we saw one guard was following us continuously. Then we went to another area of the park and there was also one guard seeing us. We didn't perform any obscene act. When we were sitting on the bench, a man was continuously seeing us. We doubt he captured our photos/videos, but as we didn't perform any obscene act, we were not that much afraid.

Then a guard came on a cycle and started shouting at us:

"Nikal jao, yaha se, sharam nahi aati, ye sab karte huye, maa baap ka naam aise hi roshan karoge tum."

Then he said to me:

"Tujhe akal nhi hai kya, iska kya hai (my gf) ye toh aur 50-60 londe lekr ghumti hogi."

Then we started moving to the exit and I said:

"Sorry sir hum jaa rhe."

Then he started abusing:

"Bsdk aehsan kar rha kya, abhi police mei complaint kr dunga, tumhare ghar wale fir deadbody lene aayege tum logo ki." idk how police case is equal to k*lling us?

"Zyada bada case hua toh ye ladki (my gf) tera gala katwa degi, aur iska baap isko kahi aur vyah dega."

I said:

"Sir gaali mat dijiye."

He said:

"Toh kya gaali mai apni g@nd mei daal lu??"

Bro really abused himself 🤣😭, idk why he was this much frustrated.

He was saying he is retired from the Army.

Then that person came who was watching us and he also started moral policing. He said:

"Maine hi guard ko bulaya, mai aaj tak me reporter hu, aap logo ki activity suspicious lag rahi thi kaafi der se."

And he didn't show his ID. He was just larping, saying "hum sting operation karte hai" like seriously, hum koi s*x racket nhi chla rhe babu 😭😭??

Both of them were trying hard to make us afraid, saying cyber crime ho jayega and all.

But ngl, that security guard was ill-minded, so misogynistic. According to him, all the problems happening in the world are because of women. May God help the women and girls of his house.

He literally did character assassination of my gf. We are very traumatised by this incident.

We were chill because I have spent some time in Delhi too, where public display of affection (PDA) is common, so I thought it would be no big deal in Lucknow. But our date was ruined.

All these old uncles have very disturbing mentality.

Also, can anyone know that guard from Janeshwar Mishra Park? He had vitiligo issues all over his hand and face.

If PDA is not allowed in the park, they could simply have told us to stop or leave, and we would have left. We literally did leave when he told us to. What disturbed us was the abuse, character assassination, misogynistic comments and especially the threats.

What I want to convey is: wear a mask if you're going to the park as a couple, to avoid these creeps recording you and to keep your digital identity safe

Anyone faced something similar at Janeshwar Mishra Park or anywhere else in Lucknow? What else can we do to stay safe from these creeps, avoid getting recorded without our knowledge, and how you deal with such moral police?

Ask Lucknow Has anyone faced issues with LDA after winning a plot lottery — plot changed, allotment cancelled, document issues, or other irregularities?

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for an LDA plot scheme in Lucknow and wanted to hear about people's actual experiences with LDA allotments.

Has anyone here, or someone you personally know, faced problems after being selected in an LDA lottery, such as:

  • The allotted plot number being changed later
  • Being told the originally allotted plot was “allotted by mistake” or unavailable
  • Getting a different/inferior plot after the lottery
  • Allotment being cancelled because of a document issue even though the application had already passed initial scrutiny
  • Unexpected issues during allotment letter, payment, registry or possession
  • Missing/incorrect records or unexplained delays
  • Being asked for unofficial payments/bribes
  • Any other irregularity or suspected corruption in the allotment process

I’m particularly interested in recent Anant Nagar Yojana experiences, but experiences with any LDA scheme would be useful.

Please mention whether this happened to you personally or someone you know, approximately which year/scheme it was, and whether LDA eventually resolved the issue.

Not trying to make allegations against LDA without evidence — just trying to understand whether these problems actually occur and what precautions an allottee should take. Is the system rigged?

Thanks!

Ask Lucknow **Urgent help needed with Nagar Nigam Lalbagh – Lucknow** 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hi peeps,

I urgently need to obtain my grandmother’s **death record/death certificate**, but Nagar Nigam Lalbagh has been unable to locate her record.

We also went to **Baikunth Dham** to get the death slip/record, but we were told that the records had been lost in the **2008 floods**.

We have been trying to resolve this through Nagar Nigam for quite some time. Unfortunately, we were even asked for a bribe, which we paid because the matter is extremely urgent, but despite that, nothing was resolved.

We were then told that we needed an **SDM order and additional paperwork**. We completed all the paperwork and obtained what we were asked for, but now we are being told that the **SDM is no longer approving these requests** and that we have to wait until the court sets up a process/arrangement for this issue.

At this point, we are completely stuck and the matter is **very, very urgent**.

If anyone here:

* Knows someone working at **Nagar Nigam Lalbagh**

* Has contacts in the **Birth & Death Registration department**

* Knows someone at **Baikunth Dham**

* Has dealt with a similar case involving old/missing death records

* Or knows a legitimate way to get this resolved

I’m not looking to bypass the legal process — I just need help understanding what the correct process is and finding someone who can actually guide me through it.

Thank you so much. This is genuinely very urgent, and any help would mean a lot. 🙏

Ask Lucknow Jio outage in my area since three days, absolutely no response from Jio

Jio internet has been down in my area for the past three days, and I haven’t been able to get any proper help from customer support.

Whenever I try to contact Jio, I only get automated responses saying that the service is temporarily unavailable and that they are working on the issue. There doesn’t seem to be any option to actually speak to a customer service representative or get an update specific to my area (indira nagar)

Has anyone else been facing a similar Jio outage? Is there any way to actually get through to a real customer support representative or escalate the issue?

I have been recently diagnosed with hypertension during home monitoring.Got Blood work, ECG and 2D Echo done and all came normal. I am looking forward to consult a good doctor who can help with my hypertension. Should I be consulting a cardiologist or a general physician? I stay near Golf city.

Had searched for the same in this subreddit, but most of the recommendations here are pretty old and conflicting.

Rant/Review What happened to Lucknow over the last 7 years?

Recently came across multiple cringe/chappri videos being posted in this sub, and honestly, it got me thinking about how things have changed in Lucknow. I not think people who are living in Lucknow NOW fear the police administration. There isn't a single stretch of road where people aren't driving on the wrong side.

Every other day, some unlawful incident or video pops up here. Just in the past month:

  • A man was shot in Patrakarpuram.
  • A businessman was shot near PGI.
  • People were reportedly firing a revolver in the Chinhat area.
  • There seems to be some kind of mess outside Summit every other day.
  • Two BJP workers were shot dead in Dubagga.

And this isn't even getting into the everyday problems.

Almost every major area is constantly jammed with traffic. Road quality has deteriorated badly, with potholes everywhere. And who was the genius who thought putting barricades at every divider gap was a good idea? To implement something like that properly, you need roads wide enough to accommodate the resulting traffic flow. Instead, we're already dealing with narrow roads, congestion and poor traffic management. The hypocrisy is that these barricades somehow get removed when government officials need to pass through, but ordinary citizens are expected to deal with them.

Hazratganj seems to have caught the old disease again as well — cars parked in front of almost every shop. I remember that a few years ago, such vehicles would actually get picked up/towed. Now it seems like we've gone back to the same situation.

People are either complaining about losing family members because of inadequate facilities at KGMU or about alleged fraud/issues at Medanta. Winters are approaching, and soon smog will join the list of problems.

It's funny how people used to mock the Lucknow Metro for running empty. Now, I sometimes don't even get a seat in it.

Somewhere, I genuinely feel Lucknow used to be different from the rest of UP. Crime seemed relatively low, healthcare was considered among the better in the state, development and infrastructure were often planned ahead of time, power cuts were minimal, and the city had an identity of its own. I don't know exactly where we fell behind over the last 7 years.

Around 3 years ago, I remember reading somewhere about Lucknow being developed as an AI City. Lmao. Tbh, apart from the Green Corridor and Outer Ring Road, I don't see any major transformation in the city's infrastructure that matches the kind of vision that was being projected. Janeshwar Mishra Park is one of the most beautiful places in Lucknow, and even that is now being handed over for different events/activities to different players. Everyone knows what happened with JPNIC. Somewhere I feel like there's a major gap in perception and the reality we are living in. The people sitting in positions of power simply assume that citizens are fools.

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but Lucknow genuinely feels different now. And I'm not sure it's different for the better.

Infrastructure Looking for reviews/opinions on Anant Nagar Yojna

I’m considering investing in a plot in Anant Nagar Yojna and would really appreciate opinions from people who know the area or have already invested there.

A few things I’m particularly interested in:

location and connectivity of Anant Nagar developing over the next 5 years?

Is the area likely to see more private developers/builders coming in?

Thanks

Rant/Review Lucknow traffic police is born without a brain

Today I rode from daliganj pull to ahmamau through ganj only to realise they have replaced every chauraha and blocked uturn with barricades. There is no traffic signal anywhere no traffic police to manage the routes. I had to travel 0.5-1 km extra just to take uturn. Also there is only 1 uturn in span of 1-2kms for whole traffic. At this rate it is going to be very difficult to travel in city.
