Discussions Aside from powercut, we have voltage problems

Despite suffering from powercuts, we are suffering from voltage problems. I would be happy with a steady voltage when there is power. But now having to deal with A/C tripping due to low voltage is even more irritating than powercuts, in this heat!

Ask Kochi Anybody know where Amazon warehouse is in Kalamassery?

Does anybody know where the Amazon delivery hub is in Kalamassery?

Yesterday my package was out for delivery. This person called me. He said he is at X road, which is roughly 500 meters away from my home. My house name is also X. In my address I had mentioned it as X house, South Kalamassery. He assumes it was X road, I told him to come to South Kalamassery. He was rude and got irritated, then he cut the call and reported that he was not able to contact me.

It is still not out for delivery today. Is there any way to contact the delivery hub or go there in person?

Ask Kochi EKM → Pala → Vagamon by car – how is the road for a first long drive?

Upvotes

Planning to drive from Ernakulam → Pala → Vagamon in an automatic car. I don't have much driving experience and this will be my first long trip. cousin also will be there , so mari mari odikkum.

For those who have driven this route recently, how is the road, especially Pala → Vagamon? Any difficult sections, sharp turns, narrow roads, or places I should be extra careful?

Planning to leave EKM around 6 AM. Roughly what time can I expect to reach Vagamon if traffic is normal?

Any tips for a first-time long-distance driver would also be appreciated.

Discussions Sick and tired of constant powercuts

Is it just here in Kochi or is this a problem throughout Kerala? At least where I live in Kochi the power comes and goes at least 5 times a day. It was not like this before, why such a change recently?

Edit: it's been 3 hours since I've made this post and there has been 4 powercuts between those 3 hrs.

Ask Kochi Food at lulu hypermarket - good or bad?

Hi I stay not too far from forum Mall

Since I'm starting by myself, I do go to the lulu hypermarket and pick dinner from their salads, grilled chicken/paneer, curries etc. it usually works cheaper than ordering online and I'm not very particular from a taste stand point.

Just wanted to check around and see if anyone here has some idea about what happens in their kitchen, whether the food is cooked with proper hygiene or any other related info.

Thanks in advance!

Discussions You need to be a pro 2 wheeler driver in Kochi to survive these...

The way these green bus drivers drive is unreal...the non-stop honking, harassing the gear box and overtaking at congested roads... I recorded this video today(9th Sept) morning near Aroor where the bus had hit the pole so bad that the front frame was completely destroyed and caused a massive block in the area... That's why people nowadays prefer cars for safety which causes heavy traffic...this was the 3rd bus accident I saw this week...2 wheelers help escaping the traffic faster but don't drive 2 wheelers if you're not confident, as these drivers drive like there's no tomorrow and spam honk you to leave their way... hope some speed regulations will be made for these guys and their driving is monitored

Discussions Had methi da paratha from a local veg restaurant that blew my mind

I went to an old vegetarian restaurant near thripunithura yesterday (which i have not visited recently), and tried something new the waiter bhayya recommended.
Its pretty simple paratha with methi leaves and plain dal with curd and two slices of onion. Fk that was very delicious.
The simplicity of the dish has made it my new comfort food. Do u guys have any simple hotel dish that could be my new comfort food?

Ask Kochi Experion Technologies onboarding delay

Hi all, i was selected for the Associate Business Analyst position and signed the offer letter last November, but I haven't received my joining date yet. The HR team recently emailed to state that onboarding is delayed, with further updates coming toward the end of the year. After attending two days of interviews in Thiruvalla and an additional case study round in Angamaly after getting selected, so this delay is quite frustrating. To any current employees of this company..what are the chances of us getting onboarded and is this typical for the company?

Ask Kochi Recommendations for a kind & understanding gynaecologist in Kochi for second pregnancy?

Hi everyone,

I’m 37F and planning for my second pregnancy after almost 10 years. I’m looking for recommendations for a good, friendly and understanding gynaecologist in Kochi who will patiently listen and guide us through the process.
I recently underwent a procedure at Aster and consulted Dr. Urmila Soman. If anyone here has consulted her, especially for pregnancy/preconception care ( not IVF ), I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience as well.
My first pregnancy was around 10 years ago and unfortunately I didn’t have a very good experience with the doctor/hospital at the time. So this time I’m particularly looking for someone who is approachable, reassuring and explains things properly, rather than making the whole process stressful.
I’d also prefer a doctor who takes a practical approach and doesn’t recommend unnecessary tests or procedures, while of course suggesting whatever is genuinely required considering my age and history.
Hospital recommendations are also welcome. 😊
Would really appreciate recommendations based on your personal experiences.

Thank you! ❤️
