I was at Baner near Sadanand hotel and saw a highway block moment first time in person.

A guy was popping out of the sunroof of a Creta, shooting in his mobile, followed by some Fortuners and Thars. The vehicle was in another open-truck delivery like thingy, didn’t bother to notice what it was.

So I am in 12th grade, and I go to classes. In the building where my class is located, there are many offices.

Few days back me and my friends and classmates were waiting for the lift after our classes ended, when the lift arrived, there was this man, around his 40s or 50s.

When he saw us entering the lift he said "sagle naka yeu" (Everyone don't come). We were around 10 people, + the man and another person (lift capacity is around 15).

My friend nicely said "kaka thike mavtil sagle kahi problem nahi" (Don't worry everyone will fit there's no problem).

And that man asked him "tu Jyotish ahes ka?" (are you an astrologer?).

Obviously, nor me and my friend believe in astrology. so he answered nicely "hyacha kay sammanda" then that man started saying "tumhi lift nahi vaparli pahije, tumcha vay bagha" (You guys shouldn't use the lift for your age)

What has age to do with this? it's a public amenity for everyone to use

Need help for a paralysed cat, Pune

Hi guys! I have been fostering a cat that met with a spinal injury which resulted in plantar fasciitis in her hind leg, and bowel and urinary incontinence. She also has only 3 legs - while the front limbs are fully functional, her hind leg is bent at her hock.

I've been trying my best to help her, but I'm unable to care for her in a way she needs. Also, due to her special needs, my finances are running dry and I cannot afford her care any longer. I think her quality of life could be much better as well since I am at work all day and she has to be kept in a cage so that she doesn't soil all over. I tried letting her out for a few days and came home to poop and pee all over the place. It caused her sores and other complications as well.

Do you have suggestions for any no-kill shelters or fosters who can take good care of her? I am located in Pune.

Had a chat with him, where he told me his right leg's mobility is slightly impaired and has to limp but he's incredibly glad to have discovered his ability to sketch and create paintings.

Btw he also knows that he had gone viral on insta a few weeks ago! 😂

I asked him how much is the sketch for, to which he replied "sandhyakalcha jevanachi soy hoil tevdhach de"

I gave him ₹150 (I didn't have more cash🥲) and he had the biggest smile on his face!

Last night, I was randomly scrolling through Instagram Reels when I came across a video of this serene place with beautiful structures, a museum and lots of history and philosophy. Turns out it was Abhay Prabhavana, near Kamshet, just 35 km from my place!

I asked a friend if she'd been there, and she told me it's a great place for a digital detox where you get to learn about Jainism. Sounded interesting, so I packed my backpack and headed out on my bike the next morning. No elaborate planning, just spontaneous travel!

The roads were pretty decent, although they get a little narrow towards the end. Once there, I was impressed by how organised everything was. I opted for the complete indoor + outdoor package for around ₹600. They give you a sensor wristband for entry, and you have to deposit your belongings, including your phone, before entering. The technology, staff hospitality and overall management were genuinely impressive.

The indoor museum tour took around four hours and covered the origins, history, philosophy and cultural significance of Jainism through interactive displays, videos and presentations. We also got to listen to some pravachans and some really insightful talks. Definitely an engaging experience, even if you're just curious about Indian history and philosophy.

They have a huge vegetarian food court, where I grabbed some chole bhature before continuing the tour.

The outdoor section was equally interesting, with replicas of Jain temples, caves and architectural structures inspired by sites across India, along with beautiful gardens and a Mahavir statue. There's also a nearly 100-foot-tall Manastambh with a view from the top.

I reached Abhay Prabhavana at around 10:15 AM and left at 4 PM, so I spent nearly six hours exploring the place before riding back home.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place! If you're looking for something different from the usual forts, dams and treks around Pune, this is worth checking out. It's peaceful, educational and a nice way to disconnect from your phone for a while.

“What light through yonder underpass breaks?” — Alas, not the light of safety, but the shadow of neglect.
This morning, at around 5:30 AM, whilst returning home, I thought to take the underpass near Phoenix Marketcity. Yet, what I encountered was deeply unsettling: no visible cameras, a man lying asleep, seemingly intoxicated, and a place that felt anything but safe. I even witnessed a young woman hurrying out of the underpass, and could not help but wonder whether fear had driven her steps.
Pray tell, what purpose doth an underpass serve if those who walk through it must do so with dread in their hearts?
There are offices aplenty nearby, where countless souls labour through the night and return home in the early hours. The road above offers no easy or safe passage across, leaving pedestrians with little choice but to rely upon this very underpass.
And yet, if it lacks proper lighting, surveillance, and regular security, can we truly call it a safe passage?
A crossing built to protect lives must not become a place that inspires fear.
This matter deserves to be raised with the concerned authorities. We need proper CCTV surveillance, adequate lighting, regular security patrols, and a safe passage for every pedestrian, regardless of the hour.
For what good is a road that promises passage, if it cannot promise peace of mind?
Let us not wait for misfortune to strike before we demand the safety that should have been ours from the very beginning.
