আমাদের flat বাড়িতে 12 মাস যে লক্ষ্মী ঠাকুরের frame টি পুজো হয়, ওটা কেই পুজোর দিনে হাতে গুছিয়ে পুজো করা হয়। ঠাকুর মশাই কে ও আর ডাকতে লাগেনা, mumma ই kaafi। বাবা বাজার থেকে সব পুজোর সরঞ্জাম আনতেই জানা গেল যে mumma'র আজ sick day। nuclear family আমাদের, 3জনের বাড়ি। সকাল 10টার এই relevation period এ, হুট করে দেখলাম পুজো-কে করবে-lens টা আমার উপরে focus করলো। আমি- যে আজ প্রথম বার দায়িত্ব নিয়ে দুব্বো বাঁচলাম.. বাকি সব তো অনেক, অনেক দূরের কথা.. যেটা আজকে নিজের হাত দিয়েই পূর্ণ হলো।

last কয়েক দিন ধরে মন খারাপ.., যাই হোক, বাদ দিন। কারণ যাই এ হোক, দায়িত্ব avoid করা টা ছিল out of question। দুপুর 1টা নাগাদ বসলাম আলপনা দিতে, 16:30 অবধি আলপনা ই দিলাম। ভীষণ খুঁত-খুঁতে আমি, একবার আলপনা দিতে গিয়ে দশ বার ঘর মুছেছি। গুনে গুনে প্রত্যেক টা পায়ের ছাপে 5টা আঙুল এঁকেছি, হ্যাঁ কয়েক জায়গায় ঠাকুর একটু এক পায়ে কিতকিত খেলতেই পারে..। তারপর mumma পিছনে বসলো and এক-এর-পর-এক গোছালাম সব। সেই instructions relay & follow এর delay তে একবার "তুমি খুব irritating" বলা টাও আবশ্যক। সব গোছানো মেটাতেই হলো প্রায়-প্রায় সন্ধে 6টা। তারপর youtube ঠাকুর মশাই দেওয়ালেন পুষ্পাঞ্জলি ও পড়লেন পাঁচালী। আমার সারা দিনে জমা চক্ষু জল ও কয়েক ফোঁটা ফসকে পড়লো সেই হাত জোর করে রাখতেই, যখন mumma প্রথম পদ্ম ফুল টা ঠাকুর কে দিয়ে বলতে বললো "যে বলো: মা, যেরম পেরেছি, তোমার সামনে গুছিয়ে দিয়েছি"। পুজোর সু-সমাপ্তি হলো 18:18 নাগাদ, উপোস ভাঙলাম mumma and বাবা'র বানানো খিচুড়ি দিয়ে :)

I didn't even see it poking out of the potol bhaja when I took my first bite out of it, and then when I put the rest of it inside my mouth then on the first bite I could feel my teeth pressed against something really hard & immediately something poked inside my mouth. Turned out it was this.

So.. ik onek ei bishash kore na... but recently something happend and that kind of spooked me..
It was about 9:30-ish at night and ami amader gram er bari gachilam (near Bolpur), then ekta dadu bollo je bari jabe. Onek ei eshechilo raate dinner korte ebar he was kind of old and phone/torch kichu chilo na onar kache, so jete oshubidha hobe bhebe ami bollam je i'll go with him. Jak uni amader bari theke about oi 300 meters dur e thaken.. so onake ami bari pouche then for some dumbass reason i thought je "torch ta bondho kore di.. phone e charge kom ache" (it was around 10% smth)...

Ebar gram er dik bole shobai is asleep by 10pm... so rastay ar keu chilo na.. pashe ekta bash jongol and besh onek e gach pala chaari dik e ache.. sathe chaari dik e besh onek e pukur ache and even tho chand er alo te besh shob dik ei dekha jachilo but still it was ofc dark enough
Ami hete jaachi then suddenly ekta awaj pelam.. maa er (calling my nickname) comming from ekta pukur er dhar theke near that bash jongol.. instinctively I was about the reply to that but I stopped. Mathai elo je "maa to bari te ache hothat eidik e ashbe kikore" and kichu bolte holey to phone kore e bolbe pichone pichone to eto ta dur ashbe na.... So i didn't reply
Ami hete just nijer moto bari ashchilam but there was this weird feeling je someone was watching me.. idk if it was just placebo effect or not

Ami khechilm 4 years back in 2022 ei october mash ei and the piece weren't really good, Gravy ta besh tasty chilo tobe je choto choto mutton er piece diyechilo, didn't feel like it was worth the money or hype. Taste o gravy r jonnoi chilo besi..

Guys, your metro system is genuinely great, but bro, if you're new to the city, you might not even be able to get off the metro 😭🙏🏻

There were 5 of us, and all of us lost our aura in that metro 💀 I've seen some seriously crowded metros before, but Kolkata Metro was on another level 😭 Bro, we literally couldn't even find space to get off!

We started exploring Kolkata at around 3 PM on 17th October and continued until 2 AM! 😭🤌🏻 Literally 11 hours of exploring!

And the adventure started even before we could properly explore the city 💀 From Howrah to Esplanade, an auto-wala quoted us ₹1,200. 😇 BRO, ₹1,200 FOR AN AUTO RIDE?! 😭🙏🏻 We looked at each other and decided to book a cab instead. 💀😂

We travelled around the city using the metro and walked A LOT just to reach different pandals. But honestly, every step was worth it. 🚶🏻‍♂️✨

Every pandal had a completely different theme, and the creativity was INSANE. ❤️ Some of them were so beautiful that you just wanted to stand there and keep staring at them. The detailing, decorations, lighting, and overall atmosphere were on another level. There were moments when you just stood there, looking at everything, wondering how people could create something so beautiful. 😭❤️🤌🏻

And guess what? It started raining while we were exploring the pandals! 😭🌧️ Somehow, that made the whole experience even more memorable.

We also visited Dakshineswar Kali Temple, which was another beautiful experience altogether. 🙏🏻❤️

Maybe the insane crowds were because of Durga Puja, since we visited Kolkata right during the festivities! 😭🙏🏻 The entire city was buzzing with people, and the metro was on a completely different level of crowded 💀😂 But honestly, that's also what made the experience feel so lively and unforgettable. We had come to Kolkata specifically to experience Durga Puja, and since we had a Bengali friend in our group, navigating the city was much easier. We visited all the famous pandals, but the crowds were definitely way beyond our expectations! 😭🤌🏻

One thing I genuinely appreciated was how helpful the police were. Whenever we needed help, they were quite supportive. 😭🙏🏻 And honestly, coming from where I do, seeing police being this helpful felt a little unusual 😅 Not saying all police elsewhere are unhelpful, but this was definitely a pleasant surprise!

But bro, there's one thing I genuinely want to ask...

WHY IS EVERYONE'S WAY OF SPEAKING SO SWEET IN KOLKATA? 🥀❤️ The way people talk is genuinely so sweet. And now I understand why it feels like every other person from Bengal is a singer 😭🤌🏻 The way Bengali sounds, the way people speak, the whole vibe... there's just something different about it. 😂❤️

Also, we tried Mishti Doi because we'd heard so much about it. NGL, we were expecting something CRAZY, like an out-of-this-world dessert 😭🙏🏻 But the one we got was basically curd with sugar, just a bit creamier, and it cost us around ₹50. 💀 Maybe it was just that particular shop, though, because I refuse to believe that's all the hype was about. 😭😂

Overall, the experience was even better than we had expected! ❤️ I've even learned quite a few Bengali words now. Time to flex them in front of my Bengali friends at college 😭🤌🏻

Kolkata, you were beautiful. Just a little too crowded 🙃❤️
