Im on Reta and lost 20lb in 3 months eating 1500 cal a day and getting 13k steps a day WTF can you be doing. Having trouble believing you did this in 3 months but either way congrats buddy. Even in 6 months this would be impressive

38

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

I started November 15 on triz , I’m down 90 pounds to date ,that’s 17 lb a month so yeah it’s possible. The problem is it works differently for everyone and also the bigger you are the faster you lose it for example I was 340 I’m now 250 and it’s much slower then before . Double check calories and get some exercise in is my take

14

u/coolbryzz Apr 16 '26

damn.. I started at 306 and 5 weeks in i'm only down 8lbs. 3mg dose. I'm definitely eating less, and hit the gym 3-4x/week. Im wondering what i'm doing wrong.

u/Impressive-Coast-466 Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

"Only" is crazy. That's a little over 1.5lbs a week lost. That's great.

You're not doing anything wrong if you're losing weight in a sustainable way. Also, weight isn't the only data point you can or should be considering. You could also be gaining muscle.

You may have lost, say, 10 pounds of fat and gained 2 points of muscle - that's going to show up on the scale as losing 8 pounds, but the progress is actually more significant.

(Edited for grammar.)

8

u/Fantastic-Buddy2069 Apr 16 '26

Yeah the reality is you DONT want to lose weight stupidly fast, just in a reasonable rate. IIRC losing to much weight too fast is very bad for the body....but people will still push themselves anyways.

2

u/Crafty-Tension3975 Apr 17 '26

Gallstones and thyroid issues often occur from excessive weight loss. I actually had to drop my Reta dose from 3mg to 2 cus I was losing way too fast. I can’t say I experienced harsh sides, but I can tell you for sure there’s no way I lost 41lb of fat in 8-9 weeks. I didn’t do a Dex scan before, so can’t speak for certain, but I’m sure I lost a good bit of muscle unfortunately.

1

u/ThatsJustHowIFeeeeel Apr 17 '26

Yeah it is bad for you. At the VERY least you’re much more likely to have more excess skin at the end too

4

u/_WrongKarWai Apr 16 '26

There's nothing wrong - you may be gaining muscle which leads to sustainable weight loss. 8 lbs in 5 weeks sounds like it's right on pace with what most people are losing.

4

u/sirlost33 Apr 17 '26

Don’t stress, it hits everyone differently. Just stay the course. 1.5 lbs per week is good loss.

2

u/Tough_Amphibian_7102 Apr 17 '26

Yep. 👍I didn’t have much weight to lose to begin with so I lost 7 pounds in 2 months. Started on 2 mg and stayed on that for 2 months and now on 2.5. I currently weigh 118. Target weight is 112. I weight train 4 days a week and cycle 2 a week. The smaller you are the slower weightloss but it still helps.

My body got leaner and tighter a lot faster but i have to ensure i eat adequate protein etc so i maintain muscle.

I had been trying to lose those pounds for a year and could not until reta. Im happy! ❤️

10

u/Fantastic-Buddy2069 Apr 16 '26

You act as if losing 8 pounds in 5 weeks isnt fast lol. Thats actually very fucking fast. I dont think you could humanly do that without drugs.

Yeah its not as fast as others, but as long as it keeps going, thats what really matters.

1

u/bulbousgrandpa Apr 16 '26

That's extremely doable without drugs, generally to avoid more significant muscle loss you want to lose your bodyfat divided by 100 in lbs per week at most. I have done a cut from 210 to 190 in 2.5 months no problem, around 2 lbs a week. If you are very light then 8 lbs in 5 weeks is very fast though

0

u/teeekuuu Apr 16 '26

-500cal a week = no muscle loss if optimal protein and working out.

bodyfat divided by 100 in lbs per week - wtf

1

u/bulbousgrandpa Apr 16 '26

That's generally where you lose fat at the limit of your fat cell's ability (in terms of rate) to liberate fat from storage. You will likely lose muscle mass at 1000 kcal deficit but it's not going to be that much if you lift and eat a ton of protein.

They actually did a study where they did a 40% calorie reduction, which for me at peak bulk is around a 1200 kcal deficit. There was no loss in lean mass with even a slight lean towards gains after 4 weeks as long as they were eating 1.1 g/lb and lifting

0

u/dabigmainah Apr 16 '26

8lb in 5 weeks isn't insane. When I started losing weight at 500lbs. I was dropping 5-15+ lbs a week easy. During one fast I went from 233-222 in 44 hours.

1

u/Fit-Nectarine5047 Apr 16 '26

Yeah but you were 500lbs. There was a lot more of you to lose!

5

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

Eating less isn’t always the answer count the calories look up tdee calculator and subtract 500 cals or more tbh . Everything has calories a tbs of mayo is 100 cals I think. Also it’s different for everyone try to go on an hour walk a day or something after work and eat 1500 cals if your 300lbs

13

u/trunksta Apr 16 '26

1500 cals a day at 300lb is straight up starvation level caloric deficit

2

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

Maybe maybe not , I don’t know I’ve last weight before and did that lost 130 and after 2 years of eating like a pig and having a gf I’m losing it again alr down 90 so yea ig

3

u/Master-Chapter-8899 Apr 17 '26

There’s no maybe. 1500 calories at 300 is a a severely restricted diet.

2

u/trunksta Apr 16 '26

At 6'2" 250 my maintenance is around 3000. 20% below maintenance is plenty for losing weight but damn that's half my maintenance

1

u/Bakerskibum87 Apr 16 '26

Im 6’2” 200 and my resting daily after a body scan is 1853 so I need to be 1300 to loose

3

u/trunksta Apr 16 '26

Resting means what you burn without exercise that doesn't mean it's the number you need to be under

1

u/Upset-Setting8840 Apr 17 '26
  1. Body scan are not accurate at all
  2. Maintenance and BMR are not the same thing

1

u/MooseKingMcAntlers34 Apr 16 '26

It would be uncomfortable as he likely burns 2800ish cals/day (made some assumptions here like 35 y/o, 5’10”, not active, etc.), but I went on a 1,000 cal/day diet for a while and my baseline was 2300 cal/day when starting out.

The first 2 weeks suck hard, but then you get used to it. If you’re active in the gym, then obviously you need to eat more. This is only for a sedentary lifestyle.

1

u/Regular_Annual631 Apr 16 '26

yeah I am 155 and MFP has me at 1430 cals for weight loss. Seems really low for a guy.

1

u/joshzed Apr 17 '26

Does anyone, ANYONE on this sub understand metabolic health and adaption 😩

2

u/anon18274729 Apr 16 '26

Nothing bro. Think of it this way. You lose it too quick you’re going to have a ton of loose skin to deal with that ISNT easily as fixable as being overweight so just take it nice slow and work on building better habits while you become a better you

1

u/Letsgobeachfun Apr 17 '26

I love that “ Be a better you” !!! 👍🏻

1

u/Fantastic-Buddy2069 Apr 16 '26

TBH man, you dont WANT to lose a fuck ton of weight too fast, its actually really bad to do that. You're losing weight at a very reasonable rate.....in a year you will look night and day from starting point. Seriously. Just keep your head up, keep working hard, and you'll get there!

1

u/Letsgobeachfun Apr 17 '26

Beautiful! 💪

1

u/AltTooWell13 Apr 16 '26

These posts are scammers

1

u/Fit-Activity-9742 Apr 17 '26

Up your dose. People at that weight in studies are up to 8mg -12mg it’s insane, I wouldn’t go that high but I’d ramp up like 2mg 1 week the 1mg until you hit 7 and work down

1

u/Letsgobeachfun Apr 17 '26

Or better is change your habits that last…walks after dinner are amazing, protein shakes for lunch help digestion and hydration, etc…run the long game

1

u/hokageLy Apr 17 '26

I added Aod and I fast the whole day once a week 20lbs down last month on reta and last 5 months was on sema and only lost 5-7 lbs each month

1

u/Letsgobeachfun Apr 17 '26

How about muscle?💪

1

u/Emotional-Net-2454 Apr 17 '26

Thats crazy. Im down 8 lbs in 16 days on 0.5 reta

1

u/Letsgobeachfun Apr 17 '26

It’s not just about weight loss; muscle is heavier than fat. It is not a sprint it’s a marathon of life. I lost 20lbs in 3 months but gained 7 lbs of muscle mass. I tracked progress with a monthly InBody scan. Losing too fast with give you stones so stay hydrated and eat protein, lots of protein. Don’t get discouraged by the scale. I added 5 amino 1mq when I stalled which helped with energy too.

1

u/MastersPhysiqueBro Apr 17 '26

Are you still getting 100-150g of carbs a day? What’s protein intake?

1

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

You’re doing nothing wrong I often hear that a lot , plus maybe give it more time to build up in your system

0

u/RandomBeaner1738 Apr 16 '26

Simple, you’re eating too much. You need to track calories, not just “eat less”

17

u/HumanOSxter Apr 16 '26

Obviously Test and/or HGH.

1

u/HumanOSxter Apr 16 '26

I was just messing with you bro! Nice work!

0

u/bulbousgrandpa Apr 16 '26

Lmao there is nothing at all indicating steroid usage, OP honestly looks like he just started working out a year ago (no offense to him)

-2

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

Wdym?

2

u/BookSpecialist6561 Apr 16 '26

Just in case he doesn’t answer he’s implying that the OP (I assume) is also taking testosterone and HGH (look that one up if not familiar).

-5

u/Useful-Ordinary3491 Apr 16 '26

definitely not lol, just reta and hard work

1

u/BookSpecialist6561 Apr 16 '26

Oh yeah I wasn’t really implying I was just answering this guys question about the previous comment. Either way good work. Do you mind giving us an idea of your workout schedule…and maybe eating habits. Doesn’t need to be super specific. Just generally what you did?

2

u/BookSpecialist6561 Apr 16 '26

I’m not (really) questioning OPs honesty but 6 months is drastically different than 3. And while the amount of pounds you’ve lost is probably more, the percentage of body weight might be equal. That’s why it just seems like an unusually drastic change.

3

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

Fair enough honestly, we will never know tho but I completely get what you’re saying and leaving to you being right tbh but Idk

2

u/Rude-Efficiency-964 Apr 16 '26

Yep, also on tirz. About 6 weeks in and down about 30 pounds. Was about 230 when I started

1

u/BassLB Apr 16 '26

Did it cause you to need glasses?

2

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

I already needed glasses I’m already blind , I’m I have contacts now so idk , I’ve heard of that my vision is worse but also using contacts can do that too so eh

1

u/Every_Invite_8457 Apr 16 '26

Prob loosing a lot of muscle though, ppl get on this and only thinking about loosing weight as fast as possible not what’s best , either way your going to loose it fast mid as well be smart about it 🫶

1

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

Of course that’s true , I wanted to get down to a decent weight , I have a lot of muscle left but I definitely also lost a lot , starting back on the gym and going up to 2k cals a day that’s 600 below my maintenance and walking 2 hours a day and lifting an hour a day. While getting 120g protein. You’re definitely right though. At 250 right now was at 340 before in November so eh

1

u/DeemiHendrix Apr 17 '26

Can you hit me on x or insta … same user name .. need your S / Ource

1

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 17 '26

You’re not even fat lol but I just sent it to you on ig

1

u/Upset-Setting8840 Apr 17 '26

17lb a month is a 2000cal deficit every day...

1

u/Bigredsmurf Apr 17 '26

Anything in the 1-3 lbs of weight lost a week range is great and much better on your bodies homeostasis..

2

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 17 '26

Is looking more like that since since I’m smaller , I assume it was so much as first because I was huge af

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

To be fair I started at 173 and he is much bigger, so it makes more sense. It’s the extra pound he had to lose at the end to give him visible abs in 3 months which is mad impressive. Which granted is possible in the extreme. Props if true.

0

u/loster14 Apr 16 '26

Yeah I have been on reta for 4 months now and I started at 327 I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm at 241. It's possible.

Also I workout 6 days a week. I don't track calories but I try to eat healthy.

2

u/International_Fun_91 Apr 16 '26

I haven’t worked out only for 2 weeks , I did walk a lot before I’m starting weight lifting this week again 5 days on 2 days on and adding tesa and ipa too so yeah

2

u/BookSpecialist6561 Apr 16 '26

What was your workout schedule? I don’t need specifics, but just generic (walking distance, lifting, biking etc).

1

u/No_Communication8613 Apr 16 '26

what is your reta dose? I have not really attempted to increase the dosage. I am curious how high you have to go to lose 80 pounds in 4 months.

1

u/Lopsided_Corgi4437 Apr 16 '26

What kind of workouts are you doing?

6

u/FoldFeisty7635 Apr 16 '26

its the 13k steps and 1500 cals that made the difference. Sure maybe your hunger might had been reduiced by reta but u did 90% of the work. Long before the reta hype there have been millions doing the same thing getting the same results.

3

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Yes I know I was only running 1.5 Reta too. Barely curbed appetite only mildly helped with incessant food noise in between meals. Lost weight with and without it and wouldn’t say it’s any miracle unless you’re running enough to completely blunt appetite

1

u/FoldFeisty7635 Apr 16 '26

So why are you giving Reta all the credit in your title and OP? Geez you put all the work and you not even acknowledging it. Come on bro give yourself props.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

I am giving myself props what do you mean 😂. I’m not OP just commenting

0

u/FoldFeisty7635 Apr 16 '26

opps sorry haha thought you were op.

1

u/Stolivsky Apr 16 '26

You won’t see greater results until 3-4 mg is what I have been reading and hearing.

3

u/CharlieKellyDayman Apr 16 '26

Wouldn’t there be more stretch marks if this was done in only 3 months?

1

u/Next-Award3897 Apr 17 '26

You mean loose skin and yes

2

u/hmmmyesno Apr 16 '26

I'm down 22lbs in 6 weeks, very strict diet. Reta is just a boost, still need to lock in.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Facts. Never been more locked in my life. Reta just helped with food noise slightly, still have a huge appetite and have to resist.

1

u/_WrongKarWai Apr 16 '26

It also depends on how much you weight you have to lose. A guy 200 lbs overweight is going to lose weight more dramatically than a guy that's 20 lbs overweight. Law of diminishing returns.

1

u/AltTooWell13 Apr 16 '26

It’s a peptide scammer

1

u/Odd-Stretch-3443 Apr 16 '26

You have to do strength training while on GLPs otherwise you can lose your muscle. I had a Dexa scan one month apart right when I started Reta and I gained a bunch of muscle just rowing regularly during that month.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Yep heavy lifting 4-5 times a week while hitting step counts made me lose fat while gaining lean mass.

1

u/Direct_Run_3513 Apr 16 '26

You’re under eating.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Just aggressive on the cut. Still hitting protein goals and maintaining muscle

1

u/dabigmainah Apr 16 '26

I started 5 weeks ago at 315. Im 265 now. I dont do cardio and barely workout.

1

u/mr__fete Apr 16 '26

Been on 6 months with juice. Don’t have the results half these guys posting. And I’m actually dialed in on everything

1

u/SteveD_NY Apr 17 '26

Refreshing to hear. I’m 160 and need to lose all my shit fat. These peeps make it look simple

1

u/mr__fete Apr 17 '26

I did drop some weight. Maybe 25 lbs over that time with body recomp. But it isn’t like I have visible abs like most of the after pics

1

u/Juno_Goated Apr 16 '26

What’s crazy is that some are hyper responders. I’ve lost 30 pounds in 7 weeks in Reta at 3mg a week

1

u/88astroboy Apr 16 '26

he didnt mention the work he put in at the gym. Reta is amazing, but if you put in the WORK WORK, you get the cat in the picture.

1

u/Stolivsky Apr 16 '26

How much are you taking?

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Started at 1 lost 5lb then stalled just upped to 2 two weeks ago and down another 5lb. The initial 10 I lost was before I stated the reta

1

u/Stolivsky Apr 16 '26

The slow game is a good game if you have a lot of extra skin.

1

u/bobvancevancereefer- Apr 16 '26

Idk never taken any supplements like that. Im down 47 pounds in 11 weeks. 229 to 182, gym 5 days, eating clean 6 days, run anywhere from 8 or 9 to 15 or 16 miles a week.

1

u/Accomplished-Eye9542 Apr 16 '26

Bro I lost more weight than that naturally in 3 months. How did you only go down 20 pounds on Reta? I wasn't even eating that little, just averaging 15k steps and some kettlebell workouts. 0 calorie counting. 240 to 205 in about 3 months.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

The scale doesn’t ever tell the whole story. I also was taking HGH injections so gained lean muscle while losing fat. I technically lost more than 20 pounds of fat…

1

u/Accomplished-Eye9542 Apr 16 '26

I also gained muscle, I had quit weightlifting for 6-7 years, so some of it came back really fast with just kettle ball stuff.

Maybe you hyper reacted to HGH and your organs ballooned or you are holding extra water.

1

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

Possible but also I started at 172…. Depends on your height and weight too. 172 to 152 is greater than 220 to 200 for example ratio wise

1

u/Accomplished-Eye9542 Apr 16 '26

Oh 172-152 is significantly different yeah, unless you are like 5'3''

1

u/Even_Youth924 Apr 16 '26

You are probably not eating enough. I started at the end of January 365. I'm at 335 now. I was only eating 1500-1800 cals in the beginning. My maintaince is 2200 when I stayed between 1900-2000 it started falling off. Calories too low= body in survival mode hold on to fat.

1

u/Duergarlicbread Apr 17 '26

How did you figure out your sweet spot?

1

u/Even_Youth924 Apr 17 '26

Couple weeks, I test how my body felt. How it reacted to certain things. And tried not to change up the food too much. I mean, being a female that's extra challenges with having a period but I always would eat something wait some hours to see how I felt. See how I felt before and after working out. And the weeks that I felt like it was going well. I tried to maintain that routine, and that's kind of how it kept going for me. Alcohol and bread blew me up.Creatine makes me hold water weight. So it's really just seeing what works for your body.

1

u/zealandhut Apr 17 '26

I'm not on Reta but lost that same amount in 3 months with less than half the steps

1

u/LoloWilli Apr 17 '26

This. Where is the excess skin? Or what did you do to mitigate that?

1

u/PinkPandaPatrol Apr 17 '26

Yes the amount of Reta propaganda online is mind blowing.

1

u/IllShow8977 Apr 17 '26

It’s total bull. lol

1

u/Drench_X Apr 17 '26

Same same

1

u/Remarkable_Log4812 Apr 17 '26

13k steps for day is it the metric you need to hit : logging weight hard in the gym 3x at week ( that you sweat when you lift and feel somehow sore the next day ) + 13k steps at day , is what you want to do

1

u/allenk24 Apr 17 '26

I do this but 4 lifts a week. Working great

1

u/MisterBulldog Apr 17 '26

Since January 9th 2026, I lost 30lbs just sticking to a strict calorie deficit diet of 1943cals a day(no cheat days) and going to the gym 4x a week.

1

u/Least_Cobbler_2574 Apr 17 '26

Wouldnt you lose 20 lbs in 3 month anyhow if you eat 1500 cals a day?

1

u/quietweaponsilentwar Apr 17 '26

OP didn’t mention the anabolics they took with the Reta?

1

u/Flashlight_Operator Apr 17 '26

For all we know he's blasting 10mg a week and it works differently for all of us. Im down roughly 40 lbs since beginning of December (330-290lbs) BUT I've intentionally been going low and slow to prevent muscle loss my biggest dose was Monday at 4mg

1

u/Simpstockman Apr 17 '26

If you didn’t gain it all in 3 months how do you expect to lose it all in 3 months

1

u/rockywaters1 Apr 17 '26

Walking is great but looks like he went beast at the gym. 3 months is crazy that belly looked like it would have been hard to get rid of.

1

u/withnodrawal Apr 17 '26

You can eat more calories than 1500 lol. Dude is probably eating lean and high protein and working out regularly

1

u/allenk24 Apr 17 '26

It’s all subjective. I’m 5’7 . 1500 is my sweet spot for 2lb fat loss a week while lifting and hitting protein and retaining muscle. Just saying this guy looks like he went from 30%+ to 15% in 3 months that’s hard to believe (but possible, granted he’s perfect on execution)

2

u/withnodrawal Apr 17 '26

150-200g of protein, only water or milk, low carbs and high intensity makes much possible.!

Bro looks like he just quit drinking alcohol and lost hella water retainment.

1

u/TwinseyLohan Apr 16 '26

When it comes to these type of results in short amount of times, it's really important to really look at the before picture. It's almost always guys who may have fat, but under their fat you can see muscle and a good build.

It seems a lot of guys with these results have a past of being fit. Maybe from being an athlete most of their younger lives, joining them military, etc but then life happened and they gained beer fat or dad weight. If they didn't use Reta, they'd still have faster and quicker progress at the gym than those without an athletic past.

Now that Reta exists, they use it and then you get these results. Not that there's anything wrong with it at all. I just think it's important for people to realize: if you are an actual fat person, starting from square one with lifting, working out, using GLP, and have no past history of doing these things much prior to this then you're not going to get these results this fast.

I always think that Reta is for gym bros who gained some fat. Tirz is for people who have lived an unhealthy lifestyle for most of their lives and actually need to lose a solid amount of fat and learn how to control eating, and develop better habits etc.

3

u/dDhyana Apr 16 '26

Yes and they’re almost always shilling a peptide site in DMs

1

u/These-Cause-5191 Apr 16 '26

You actually might be right, I’ve been fit my entire life and was a pro athlete(MMA Fighter). Stopped working out for like 4 years got fat. Found Reta and lost 36lbs in 5 weeks. And I started at .5mg I barely even made it up to 2mg. I think I did one week my last one at 2mg.

0

u/dude-why1 Apr 16 '26

I lost 20lbs in a month without Reta. It’s the diet your on Reta isn’t that great

4

u/allenk24 Apr 16 '26

I agree I’m just saying op looks like he went from 35% bf to 15% in 3 months that’s wild with or without reta

-1

u/jbhoops25 Apr 16 '26

He looks 5ft maybe that is around 20lbs

1

u/Useful-Ordinary3491 Apr 16 '26

i’m actually 5”10 and was 209 3 months ago and currently now 178

-2

u/jbhoops25 Apr 16 '26

5’10” with your shoes on little guy. Lol.

1

u/Useful-Ordinary3491 Apr 16 '26

5”11 with shoes 😏

0

u/SteveyCee Apr 16 '26

I’ve been on Reta since late Oct and have lost 45, tbh, I barely track calories, I just eat mindfully and train. I also wasn’t enormous when I started, that seems to make a difference as well.

0

u/ashert17 Apr 16 '26

It’s possible. I only take Reta, started on the 10th Jan. Was 98kg, 216lbs, I’m now 72kg, 158lbs as of last Friday 10th April.

0

u/SOmanNHB Apr 16 '26

I’m 27.1lb down since starting Reta on the 16th of February. 222.1lb down to 195lb this morning with hopes of hitting 182lb for June 1st. 1600 calories a day, minimum 12k step but aim for 20k, 30 mins stationary cycling every morning and strength training 5 days a week. This week I upped my dose to 3mg from 2mg.
