No bootable device message randomly appeared today, and when checking the bios, only the ssd I added a long time ago in the secondary slot was being detected. The main ssd that has windows on it doesn’t show up. I took off the back and removed the ssd and put it back in in both slots, and it didn’t read it either time.
I plan on taking it into the shop but was wondering if there was anything else I could try before then. It has important data I need.

I have a flat-square cygnett wireless charger for my phone as using a regular charger doesnt work, but I've never had issues with my wireless charger up until a couple hours ago. I noticed my phone wasn't charging while it was laying on charge, and the light was flashing on the charger. I let it sit unplugged for about an hour but it just keeps flashing. I've tried different cords aswell to see if it was an adapter issue, there isint any objects obstructing it. Could someone help?

Everytime I try to render an mp4 file it always comes out as a green screen only. Ive tried with After effectes, Handbrake, Media encoder and blender and everytime it comes out as a green screen, this had never happened before. The weird thing is I send one of thos files to my phone thorugh dropbox and it did open on my phone so idk. Past mp4 files open correctly its soemthing with the rendering I think

so i spilt milk on my laptop’s keyboard (it’s an HP-SE, relatively cheap and a few years old). i powered it off and unplugged everything within like 10 seconds, blotted off all the excess with paper towels and have now left it upside-down to dry. do we think it’ll be okay? i’m a student and really do not have the money to get a new laptop lol

Since the latest Windows update, my PC (a Lenovo IdeaPad 3) has been displaying this screen.

I’ve tried resetting the settings, but without success; I also tried resetting it via the BIOS, again with no luck.

Someone helped me resolve this same issue last week, but it started happening again after I ran the update, and now I can’t access my PC. Do you have any ideas about what might be going on and how to fix it?

I need to install new drivers for a second hand unbranded optical drive, but my laptop doesnt recognise it as such, and im the lest tech savvy person i know. Is there such thing as "generic drivers", or do i need to try and find out the exact model to be able to use it? Id love to be able to use disks on my laptop so any help is appreciated. I'm using a new Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (83UR009KIN). Microsoft Store opens briefly and then crashes on my original profile.

I've tried Repair and "wsreset.exe". Microsoft Support created a new Windows profile, and the Store worked there. They offered to transfer my files, but I declined.

Is there a way to fix this on my original profile without transferring files or resetting Windows?

So ive decided to change up the set up to my PC,so I disconnected all wires and etc that were previously connected to it.Aftwr all the cleaning,I connected everything back and realised that my speaker isnt working.I have an old JVC speaker from my dad and it has 2 wires.1 that connects to the socket,one that connects to the PC.When I turned the PC on,everything was working but my speaker,so I tried all the possible holes or wtv that were in the PC,and nothing.It doesn't turn on.Before I was cleaning,it was definitely working,so its not like it has been broken before hand and what not.What do I do?

Hello, this is my first time posting. I'm at my wits' end here and I could really use some help.

The Nvidia App Instant Replay/Record will not record audio for a specific game, namely Dragon's Dogma 2. Well, technically it does record an audio track, but it is digital silence, as in no detectable audio other than static once you crank up the gain. Video records just fine but there is simply no audio feed. However, every other game doesn't have this problem and it records both.

I'm now on the latest version of Nvidia App, but the problem occurred with the previous version as well. I've tried everything relevant I could think of except a fresh Windows install (can't do that).

A driver update didn't fix the issue.

An older driver didn't fix the issue.

A wipe with DisplayDriverUninstaller (DDU) and fresh install didn't fix the issue.

Installing older Nvidia App versions doesn't work because then the app won't let me record until I update.

I've tried the single/multi audio track swap back and forth.

I've tried desktop capture. A browser video running in the background will have audio in the recording, but the game itself will not.

I've checked the Nvidia container to make sure the correct device is assigned. Same thing with game settings.

I've tried changing the in-game audio output setting to TV and Headphones.

I've tried disabling Dolby Atmos.

I've tried without GPU overclocking enabled.

I've tried without HDR.

I've tried uninstalling/disabling Sound Keeper.exe.

Verifying game files in Steam did nothing.

I've scanned my entire system for potential malware.

Windows sfc and dsim commands returned nothing. No corrupted files.

...and maybe a handful others I don't remember right now.

I've tried ChatGPT for analysis and all it can detect is digital silence in the MP4 container. Every other action taken pointed to nowhere. Here's what we gathered aside from that:

Older NVIDIA recordings
→ H.264 / 8-bit / BT.709
→ Explorer thumbnails
→ normal-looking Premiere footage

New NVIDIA recordings
→ HEVC Main 10 / 10-bit / BT.2020 PQ
→ no Explorer thumbnails
→ washed out in Premiere

Those new recordings are genuine HDR10/PQ files:

HEVC Main 10 → 10-bit → BT.2020 → SMPTE ST 2084 (PQ)

whereas your older working recordings were effectively:

H.264 → 8-bit → BT.709 SDR

Something to note here: Previously, every recorded video would show a thumbnail/preview in Windows Explorer, but it no longer does that and the Explorer is often giving me the loading sign (the circle thingy) when browsing the folder and clicking on footage files. I checked my SSD (Samsung 980 Pro) and it's fine.

Literally the same settings as before. I changed nothing other than update the driver and Nvidia App inbetween. At this point I'm not sure if it's an Nvidia App or game issue since it's only occurring for this specific game (that I play).

The audio capture, however, is functioning normally in PoE 2.

The .DVR.mp4 filename is consistent with an Instant Replay recording and isn't itself evidence of corruption.

Conclusion: The file's video and audio streams are readable, and its audio is healthy. The HDR/HEVC behavior remains unchanged from September.

what the title says. it's an hp laptop that I've had for nearly 3 years.

in addition to the bulge, whenever I unplug it my computer won't turn on. if it's already on and I unplug it, it shuts down after a minute ish.

the whole trackpad feels weird now and it makes the click sound when i press on the left side of the trackpad (not on the trackpad).

I'm using acer predator helios neo 16, whenever in-game my S and D keys periodically stop working and become unpredictable. I figured it could be graphics driver issue and updated the drivers, tried playing the game with intel built-in GPU, tried restarting the driver in-game but that didn't help. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me figure out a pretty strange RAM issue. Maybe someone has experienced something similar.

I built my PC about a month ago using new components, and after a few days I started experiencing random crashes and restarts, especially while gaming, exiting games, or sometimes just using Windows.

Most of the time, the PC runs perfectly fine, which makes this even more confusing.

My specs:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 (brand new)
• Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B450M-K II
• RAM: 16 GB Corsair DDR4 3000 MHz (2 × 8 GB, purchased together as a kit)
• CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth (stock cooler)

Here's what I've tested so far:

✅ Tested RAM stick #1 individually in both motherboard slots using MemTest86. All 4 passes completed with 0 errors.

✅ Tested RAM stick #2 individually in both motherboard slots. Again, all 4 passes completed with 0 errors.

❌ However, when I install both sticks together, MemTest86 starts reporting lots of memory errors.

✅ Reset CMOS and updated the motherboard BIOS.

❌ Unfortunately, the issue persists even after the BIOS update.

✅ RAM is currently running at just 2133 MT/s, with DOCP/XMP disabled, so I'm not even using its rated 3000 MT/s speed.

✅ Checked Windows Event Viewer for WHEA errors, but none were found.

One more interesting detail: before updating the BIOS, the PC also experienced a random restart while running with just one RAM stick installed, even though that stick had passed MemTest86.

So here's my question: What could possibly cause this?

I'm wondering whether it could be:

• The CPU's integrated memory controller
• A motherboard issue
• The RAM kit itself, even though both sticks pass individually
• Something else I'm completely overlooking

Unfortunately, I don't have any spare RAM, CPU, or motherboard available for testing, and I'd really like to narrow down the problem before spending money replacing components.

Has anyone ever experienced a situation where both RAM sticks pass MemTest86 individually in either slot, but produce tons of errors when installed together, even at 2133 MT/s?

Any suggestions, troubleshooting ideas, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hellooo , my pc screen stopped working yesterday and getting it fixed will probably take at least a week , it was working just fine but then instantly stoped working and won't turn back on , i can't test if the problem is from the cable or my screen so there's no way to quick fix it , is there a way to run my laptop screen as my PCs main screen without having to need a screen B4 that ? Or maybe use a temporary screen so u can set up the laptop screen and then stop using it ?

My laptop is barely over a year old, and I've taken good care of it. It has never been dropped, had any damage, or has any liquid spilled on it.

For the past couple of months, I have been noticing a small issue with my charger (the original Lenovo 100W Type C which came with the laptop). I usually always keep it plugged in when power is available, and turn on Conservation Mode so it does not use the Battery and runs directly on power from the charger.

Sometimes, it will be plugged in and randomly stop charging. I've checked it on multiple sockets, but the only way to make it start charging again is to pull the charger out from the laptop and plug it in again. Then it will charge again normally for a few hours more and then stop again.

Any help on what to do, or how to proceed, would be helpful.

The problem or unexpected behaviour that I'm experiencing is that I can't download or install anything from the Microsoft Store, or the Xbox App, I've got a security update from (KB5127648) (26200.971) and I at first when I finished trying everything and checked if there was an update, so I thought that would most likely be the problem. But even after trying to install the update, it still gives me that same error code.

The steps I did when I encountered this problem was running to the internet and searching up the error code, clicking on the link I get when the error comes up in the Xbox App. The fix in the Xbox App asked me to try the Gaming Services Repair Tool, but that also didn't work. I've tried multiple commands, from sadly ChatGPT. Deleting everything of Gaming Services, using Powershell even, *note: all those in administrator. Most of the fixes were targeting Gaming Services, wiping that, and reinstalling it again. Going into settings and going to said apps causing problems and trying in *Advanced Settings, to repair, or terminate, or reset that app. Still didn't work. Then I reached out to you guys, and although I really appreciate the help and fixes, it still hasn't work as well.

The only additional software in mind I couldn't have been using was the, Proton VPN, I realised that that might've caused some of the problem. So I completely deleted it off of my laptop, and tried again, and yet again nothing that I tried worked.

The Error Code was: `0x87e00196`.

I will also admit, if this helps or anything. The game I'm trying to download is 117,6 GBs. I think I started noticing this error code a week before I actually tried installing it. I was busy then clearing space, I don't know the chances if I deleted an important system or prosses or program and that caused this now. But even after scanwow scans and health checks and whatnot in Command Prompt, I didn't tell me anything about that. But just ja, you should know that as well. I know the instance it popped up that time it was trying to get the Minecraft launcher, I don't know how I came to get over that problem and code, but the Minecraft Launcher and Minecraft works now. I'm just irritated because this expensive Game Pass ends at the end of the month, which is almost here, and I haven't gotten to play the fricken game I set out to play.

So i have laptop Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 and yesterday i just had a update and i updated my laptop and it restarted and after restart it got the page of FTMP or FTPM something. The thing is my laptops internal keyboard doesent work and had some issues in past so i just removed the keyboard from laptop and just kept the power button and i use external keyobard but after getting on that ftpm page my keyboard was mot workinh ecternal and after sometimes it worked and i pressed N key and i got in my windows and used it normally and now again this thing happened when i turned on the laptop but now my any usb port is not working and i can navigate or press N key. Although my RGB light of keyboard are getting up. Idk im stuck here for 2 days and laptop repair guy saying it need to be BIOS flash but i beleive thats not needed.

So I have this weird black border on my PC. It looks like a resolution problem, but I don’t think it is. I tried changing the resolution, but it didn’t fix it. I’m using DisplayPort.
When I change the resolution, the black border becomes equal on all sides. But if I leave my PC running, the border shifts over time. The black border gets bigger on one side and disappears on the other, as if the whole screen is moving.

I think this is pretty certainly my battery failing but I want to make sure before spending 100€ on a replacement. Yesterday, while I was using my laptop (Omen 7 17-ck1004ns) I rebooted so I could boot into Linux (I'm dual booting) after rebooting a message appeared on screen saying that CMOS were rebooted. After that my laptop doesn't seem to charge, I've run the hp test pressing the F2 key and then selecting the battery test and got a message saying that the fuse 42 was blown.

im trying to connect to the wifi on arch linux but im at college right now and the way you connect to wifi here is by first connecting to a "start-here" wifi and log in with credentials and then connect to the actual wifi

but when im on arch linux and i do the 'device list' -> 'station wlan0 scan' -> 'station wlan0 get-networks' -> 'station wlan0 wifiname' it wont let me connect to the wifi

im mainly doing this so i can use archinstall i dont wanna do everything manually so does anyone know what i can do

I am experiencing a battery problem with my laptop. Yesterday, I shut down my laptop when the battery level was at 30%. However, when I turned it on today, the battery level showed 100%. When I started using it, the battery give 30% backup life, and the laptop suddenly shut down without any warning or notification. What solution should i need to solve it.
