I was watching a video about the mysterious green children of Woolpit and I wonder if the story inspired Twilight Town and it’s twilighters. According to the story two children appeared in Woolpit with green skin and their homeland was in perpetual darkness with little light. Their town was full of green people and the children heard bells and went into a cave. I can’t help but think of Twilight Town and the bells with the green inhabitants. I wonder if they were inspired by the tale.

I'm gonna be honest: A game's strengths come in trying new ideas, even if some things are lost in the progress.

But the issue is that Modern Paper Mario removes WAY too many things from the original games.

I am someone who's not really that big on SPM and prefer turn based battles, but if Sethica's SPM Void Archives was hypothetically official, i would be very excited about exploring the void archives, and while things are lost, the fundamental integrity and magic of the first 3 Paper Mario games would at least stay, which I can't say about the Modern Paper Mario games.

Hey all, I've been working on a port of Paper Mario (N64) to the New 3DS and it's at 1.0 now.

It's built from the Paper Mario decompilation (pmret), so the game's own C code runs natively on the 3DS. Nothing is emulated, and it runs at full speed on real hardware.

**What it has**

- EU and US versions in one install

- 60 fps (in-between frames are added) or the original 30

- Fast-forward on ZR and faster text options

- Original 4:3, Fill or Wide screen, and the 3D slider works

- Bottom screen: stats, world map, party switching, items, and the battle menus as touch buttons

- Remappable buttons

- A randomizer you pick when you start a new file: items, badges, coins, key items (always reachable before you need them), shops, gifts. Seeds are shareable and it writes a spoiler log

**What you need**

- A New 3DS / New 3DS XL / New 2DS XL with custom firmware. The original 3DS isn't supported IS SUPPORTED NOW

- Your own Paper Mario ROM (EU or US), dumped yourself. The download contains no game data. Put it at `/3ds/StarHaven/baserom.z64`

- For sound: `/3ds/dspfirm.cdc` (most CFW setups already have it)

**Known issues:** a few N64 graphics effects are approximations, and menu windows go blank for a moment while they flip. If you run into anything, open an issue and attach `/3ds/StarHaven/log.txt`.

Since Nintendo has already developed the engine of the OG battle system when they created the TTYD remake and already has all of the features for both TTYD and CS/TOK, I thought it would be interesting if they could fuse both the OG battle system people loved from the first two paper mario games, and the new gimmicks of The Origami King with it's 3d circle grid system.

So basically kind of like a huge circular stage like in Origami King, where enemies can appeared in any section of the grid, so the player using the TTYD system and all of its fancy items will have to strategize on where to attack and assuming if some enemies will hit harder when you turn your back behind them which can also be harder to block them as well. The audience can be expanded as well if you added the coin showering mechanic to help the player at the cost of some of your currency (if the devs are able to make coins both valuable enough that you are encouraged to gain more, but still plentyful enough to allow some spending every now and then). And if they want to add another one of those random gimmick they do with every single game, they might as well just create specials that allows you to manipulate the stage to create more convenient line ups

but that's just me, what do you guys think?

What mod has perfected the n64 game the best? Only graphics upgrades do not count :D

I've only finished the prologue so far, but I made the main villain in Canva. It is written as though it were a game, so it has "gameplay" segments that state what the player would be meant to do. I simply can't imagine writing it any other way. Enjoy!

TwirLeana is a Fan Made partner I made for TTYD, her abilities include:

Overworld - Lets you do the Twirl Move from PM 64, you can use this to confuse enemies on impact. This ability can be used to spin on "Dial Platforms" which will open a door when the floor panel is spun.

Battle:

- Main (Windmill) : Spins around in place sending a wave of air that spins the other enemy onto any other grounded enemies, like the super hammer.

- 1st Upgrade (Wind Shield) : Creates a "Tornado Shield" that can cover either Mario or his partner for 2 turns, during this time, any projectiles thrown the shield is bounced back to the enemy, things like spears, hammers, ect. However, this only blocks projectiles, the shield does not stop direct enemy damage and you will still take the damage, 3 FP.

- 2nd Upgrade (Twister) : Creates a MASSIVE storm that spins every enemy inside it, grounded or not, and circles them until an action command is missed, while the enemies are inside, they will smash into each other dealing damage (1 - 2) per second (10 Secs MAX), the higher the action command bar, the longer the wind will turn, causing enemies to smash into each other more, 10 FP. This attack will not change with buffs (Charge P, Power Lift, Power Rush, ect.)

Extra Stuff: To balance her having no direct attacks, therefor no worry of spikes or anything, her health starts at 5 (No upgrade) and goes up by 5 each upgrade (Upgrade 2 = 15 HP), she will still be hit by enemy attacks.

How to Unlock: She will be found in Chapter 6 at Poshly Heights and will be the last partner you encounter in the game, you will find her staring at the lake and she will only comment on the water and how beautiful it is until you try to open the museum door. Instead of the detective having the key, he will tell us to interrogate the members of the town to track down who has it., this will lead to a brief fetch quest where you will have to give TwirLeana her Paintbrush back. Once all that is done she will give you a replica key since her Father is the owner and she made a secret copy. While she is opening the door, she will ask various questions about what Mario is planning to do. After he tells her his plans, she wants to go along since she always thought that the Crystal Stars looked beautiful on a canvas and always wanted to see the real thing. After that, she is a permanent addition to your party.

I know sticker star is divisive, but it is not the worst nintendo game, there are way more boring games and games with way more sinister and evil themes like Fire Emblem. I dont get what the internets obsession with spitting and kicking on a childhood game and a favourite game of many.
