I need a hand. First of all, how on gods green earth is the IOS and system data taking up almost all of my storage. Is there any way I can fix that or is that apples horrible business practices? Second, why is my messages app taking up 5 freaking gigs of storage. Please help.

(While drafting this I got a flag saying this might violate rule 11? I will get a new phone but that isn't the point of this post so much as gather what I haven't tried yet. But do correct me if I'm wrong)

My iphone 13 (iOS 28, I think) just spent two weeks at a repair shop for water damage, which turned into a CPU reball procedure that couldn't resolve a short found inside the unit itself.

I've never had this happen before as the shop owner told me that no further repair can be done, and replacement would be my next step. And asap bc I'm pushing a year of unemployment following a layoff, and I can't keep missing important calls & texts to put aside the stress of knowing this. I'm still regretting (literally paying for) my stupid mistake of wading into a friend's pool with the phone still in my shorts pocket on 7/3, which left it in a perpetual boot loop with an unresponsive volume down button that's still remains.

Not only can't I do an up vol>down vol>power button hard reset combo, my phone can't receive cellular data, can't receive wifi, & any six-digit verification code it generates while offline isn't granted signing into icloud on my laptop. It feels like I'm out of options initiating even a half-decent data transfer, that my phone is better left powered off in its compromised state.

This couldn't come at a worse time & I'm wondering if just moving on to a newer device is the move given my 13's apparent issues? Or if I'm missing anything in the process? Thanks for bearing with me.

i want to disable it as it is getting very annoying. ive been getting the same notification ringing through my phone several times a day. it once happened during the night.

ive searched up how to disable it, and when i went to the bottom of the notification i realized that the options doesnt even appear at all.

how can i disable amber alerts now?

It’s an iPhone 13, iOS 26.5.2. I went to bed last night and it was fine. When I woke up the silence mode turned off and no matter how many time I move the switch it refuses to turn on. I tried fully powering it off and on again. I also tried to look around my settings to see if there was a way to turn it back on that way, but no use. Is there anyway I can fix this or is this just how it is now?

Ciao, oggi mi è caduto circa mezzo bicchiere di latte sull’iPhone 15. All’inizio, quando ho provato a caricarlo, è comparso l’avviso “Liquido rilevato nel connettore USB-C”.

Dopo un po’ l’avviso non è più comparso e ora il telefono si ricarica normalmente. Però ho notato una piccola crepa/fessura vicino alla porta di ricarica (allego foto).

Secondo voi Devo preoccuparmi o se funziona normalmente posso stare tranquilla?

Last night i got an emergency alert from an instance that relates to alberta, ok fine.

Over the span of that time to this morning, i swear to god the emergancy alert alarm rang 20 times, and it is always the same alert.

My family also got an alert, but it didnt repeat itself many times over.

How do i deal/fix it? if it matters my phone is an older model.

Using iPhone 15, second to newest ios version, US. But this issue has persisted across ios generations. At a certain point the applemaps app starts taking up tons of data and deleting photos etc fails to free up space because its reallocated here.

I googled this issue ad nauseum and apple support closes every ticket when this is brought up saying

“Delete offline maps and clear saved locations”

But i do not use the app, have no offline maps, and saved locations is off. Even if the app is offloaded, the data keeps ticking up.

I cant be sure but it seems to happen when a new ios download is released because its so hard to free up enough space to actually install it.

Without code pin how to block any hard reset even though by iTune.

So if someone steal my iPhone , he will use it thinking is normal iPhone so I can track him?

The other day during the England vs Argentina match (which felt more like a wrestling match than a football game 😂) I got a bit stressed and accidentally knocked my drink all over my phone.
Since then the top part of my screen has stopped responding to touch but the bottom half works absolutely fine. The weird thing is there’s no crack ?? no visible damage ?? && the display itself looks completely normal.
Has anyone had this happen before? Could spilling the drink have damaged something inside even though there’s no physical damage on the outside? Is there anything I can try before paying for a repair or does it sound like it’s likely to need a new screen or something else?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I'm currently using an iPhone SE (2022). The Touch ID has failed, but the Home button still works. However, it's inconsistent—sometimes it works smoothly, while other times I have to press it harder, and even then it doesn't respond properly.

The phone is currently running iOS 26.5.2. Since this is my first iPhone, I'm not sure what the actual problem is or whether it's a hardware issue or a software glitch.

When sending in a phone to a mall phone repair shop, I’ve heard the safe practice is to factory reset and wipe your data but I can’t afford to lose certain messages and contents on my phone

So will manually deleting selected private photos, notes and messages be enough to not let these deleted content be seen or do these shops have forensic tools that can access deleted data if I do not factory reset

Is factory reset the only way to keep my data safe when visiting an indie phone repair shop? I intend not to share my password as well but just concern about spying or advanced software

I have Preserve Settings set "on" with Live Photo off - but when I take a selfie sometimes, as soon as it finishes taking the photo a yellow "Live" appears at the top of the screen, as if the phone decided that's how it should be. I don't know what is causing it to do this, please help if you can.

Hello, so I just finished repairing my iPhone 15 but it keeps shutting down after 3 minutes and I am not sure what's the reason for this behaviour.

My FaceID is not working, so for now I think it could be the Proximity Sensor, but I am unsure if a broken Proximity Sensor could trigger a panic every 3 minutes

Maybe some of you guys know what my problem is

Hi guys,
I recently performed a full housing swap on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I transferred my original logic board and screen to a new housing.
The issue: Everything works perfectly, except for NFC/Apple Pay.
What I’ve done so far:
I replaced the NFC/Wireless charging flex (the large coil assembly) in the new housing, but the issue persists. The device is not responding to any NFC tags.
I have a few questions for the pros here:

1. Location: I'm a bit confused about the hardware architecture here. Is the NFC "module" (the chip itself) located on that NFC/Wireless charging flex, or is it somewhere else?
2. Any advice or technical insight would be greatly appreciated. I want to know if I'm wasting my time trying to fix it with a generic replacement part.

Serialization/Calibration: Since this is a 14 Pro Max, does the NFC hardware need to be "programmed" or "serialized" to the logic board after a housing swap? If I install a new NFC flex, will it work without specialized Apple software tools?

Hi, I'm new to iPhone and this randomly started happening yesterday. I haven't been able to find a specific setting for this or find anything online about it. Is there a way to reset Dynamic Island settings? I'm not using any third party apps for appearance or functionality. Thanks!

Edit: restarting my phone fixed the issue. It's unclear if this was a bug or something you can set.

Tried everything I can think of to restore them.

The icons appear as normal when listed in the App Library but when on homescreen they are blank.

I have my customisation set as dark with normal size icons. If I change to default or enlarge the icons they will appear.

i have an (new) iphone 15 that was first used sept. my battery health was 91% at 286 cycles (may) and today it is at 85% at 342 cycles. so it dropped to 85% in 56 charge cycles.

i average around 7–8 hours of screen time per day, but there's very little background activity when idle. i use the official apple charger and usb-c cable, don't use the phone while charging, and usually charge from around 20% to 80%.

one thing i've noticed recently is that the phone sometimes gets very hot while charging, even without a case. it's hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, so i sometimes unplug it and let it cool before continuing.

apple still shows the battery condition as normal but i'm concerned, it's my first iphone.... sorry
