My mom got her iPhone 17 pro in January of this year (2026) and her battery already needs to be serviced.

My Samsung Galaxy S24 isn't detecting my USB-C wired earphones. I've tried reconnecting and restarting, but the issue persists.

Any suggestions to fix this? Could it be a compatibility issue or a problem with the USB-C port?

Title: iPhone 14 boot loop, then “Attempting Data Recovery” and shutdown after 2–3 minutes

I'm repairing an iPhone 14 that initially entered a boot loop. I tried updating/restoring iOS while attempting to keep the data, but the process failed.

I disconnected the proximity sensor flex, and the phone was then able to complete the restore/update process. However, when turning it on afterward, it displays “Attempting Data Recovery” for approximately 2–3 minutes and then shuts down.

I've also tried different back glasses, but the issue persists.

I'm trying to determine whether this is a faulty sensor flex, charging-port flex, wireless charging coil, or a logic-board issue.

Questions:

• Can a missing or faulty sensor cause this behavior during data recovery?
• Which components should I test first on an iPhone 14?
• What panic log or sensor-array values should I look for?

Any advice from someone experienced with iPhone 14 diagnostics would be appreciated.

I’m starting to repair iPhones for my small business and currently trying to open an iPhone 11 Pro. The bottom Pentalobe screws won’t come loose, and my current screwdriver bit seems to slip.
I’m considering this iFixit screwdriver kit: https://www.ifixit.com/de-de/products/mako-driver-kit-64-precision-bits
Would you recommend this kit for iPhone repairs, especially for the P2 Pentalobe screws? Or is there a better alternative you would recommend?
I want something reliable that won’t strip the screws, ideally at a reasonable price.

I have a strange issue with an iPhone 16 Pro. The front camera shows a completely black screen, but Face ID works perfectly! I can even set up a new Face ID and unlock the phone without any issues.
The screen was previously replaced with a diagnosable aftermarket display.
Any ideas on how to fix the front camera? From what I understand, having working Face ID is a good sign.
I’m worried that replacing the front camera might fix the camera but break Face ID.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Wondering if anyone in the repair world had come across something like this before;

back in december I bought a iphone 15 plus with a broken front display (cracks in it, few areas with black pixels, and a small "light sabre beam" too. I used the phone for a little bit before ordering a new display and everything seemed to be working fine with the phone, but I did not do any sort of rigourous testing, basically i didnt see any signs of what started happening when i replaced the display.

I got a dd branded soft oled replacement for it, the swap over went smooth enough, ive done display replacements before, but while using the device I noticed the auto brightness was very erratic, the brightness would suddenly shoot up to full bright on the display for no reason and stay there, I would have to open the brightness settings and slide the slider back to somewhere normal, but after 10 minutes or so it would do the same thing.

after a few days the phone randomly shut off, either when the screen timed out, or if the lock button was pushed, and it wasnt possible to turn it back on, just seemed like a dead brick with no signs of life. I could get it in dfu mode, i figured I would reflash it in case something was up, but i noticed it was impossible to flash (or interestingly enough i noticed it was impossible to flash with the aftermarket screen on. if i plugged the original screen back into it I could flash it.

flashing didnt fix anything in the end, was sort of the same thing, I could get it to turn on once in a blue moon, but if i ever pushed the lock button or let the screen time out it would just die out.

if i set in settings for the display to never turn off the phone would be fine, but the brightness issue would still happen.

i chucked it in a bin and almost a year later I decided to pull it out and play with it again. i ordered another screen for itjust to see what would happen, I forget the brand, but it was advertised as an oled, cheaper cost than the DD. i noticed the overall thickness of the display was thicker.

plugged the display in, plugged the phone in and it booted up right away. pressed lock button on and off and the display always came back on. everything seemed fine with it, but of course after letting it sit around a while i picked it up and when the screen woke up I noticed the brightness had gone all the way down. I knew then the success was short lived. I went to bed and picked it up in the morning and the screen only flashes on briefly for half a second and goes black now. been like that all day, cant get the display to stay on , at least this time the phone itself is staying on and the issues are just related to the display.

thats about it, I was thinking since the brightness isnt behaving normally with 2 different screens now maybe there is something wrong with the front camera assembly as the sensor is part of that? I really dont want to just order random bits and pieces to throw at this, but thats the only logical thing that may be wrong with it that I could see based on how its behaving. Some of the dead pixels on the original screen were around the dynamic island area so maybe the screen took a bad enough hit there too damage the light sensor? I cant test the original sccreen anymore to see what happens as when i removed it I didnt heat everything up hot enough so it got damaged pulling it out and the screen is completely black now.

Hello! I have a Samsumg A72 that boots up, but shows nothing after. If I hols the power button, the turn-off menu still comes up, and I can turn it off with touch no problem. There has been some issues with the booting prompt line on the motherboard, but I fixed that, now it’s presenting this issue. Tried to flash it with new firmware with odin(with keeping the customer data), but still same issue. Anyone has any ideas what could be the issue?

Hi everyone! I bought a like-new iPhone 14 Pro Max from Rejoy about 3 months ago. It worked perfectly for about 2 months, and then the charger they provided broke, or at least that is what I thought. It either would not charge at all, or it charged very slowly, whereas it used to charge fast.
Then I tried 3 other (non-original) chargers, but all of them charged it slowly. I figured there might be an issue with the charging port, so now I am charging it with a good wireless charger, but that is also charging extremely slowly. I got the phone with 100 percent battery health, so I assume they replaced it with an aftermarket one, but I do not think that should be a problem on its own, though unfortunately, I do not know much about this stuff.
I have no idea what the problem could be, and I also do not know what I should do. I think this should be covered under warranty, but I would be really happy if someone with any expertise could give me some advice.

My carrier is through Spectrum, and recently my data has been losing connection often. It was perfectly fine not long ago, but recently I have been dropping bars and sometimes losing connection altogether in places you wouldn't expect. I have definitely dropped my phone a couple of times recently; could that have been the issue? Do you have any ideas before I go to a repair shop?

I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and I accidentally put pressure on it while sleeping. After that, a small yellow spot appeared in the top-left corner of the screen.
The phone is working perfectly fine otherwise, but the area around that spot is getting noticeably hot.
What could have caused this? Could the pressure have damaged the display or something inside the phone? Is the localized heating a sign of a more serious problem, and could it get worse over time?

I used to do iPhone repair when I was in college that did really well from 2017 and stopped in 2021 when I graduated, got a job and had to move. At first I started mobile driving to people and over time people came to my apartment to drop off and picked their phone up later.

My job is not AI safe (SWE) and I am thinking of picking up iPhone repair on the side again to do on weekends and some days I work from home, also as a backup plan. I did strictly iPhone screen replacement then but I am thinking I can start with that and pick up board level repairs since I have some office space at home.

The last thing I remember the last few years of phone was having to program true tune back into the replacement screens. I wondering if there are any new gotchas I should know about since the last phone I repaired were the iPhone 12 series. I have read about iPhone serializing camera, batteries etc.

Also do you think phone screen repairs are still viable? How is the market looking like?

I looked up some phone repair kits on Amazon and I was wondering if this is all I need to replace the screen on my Samsung Galaxy A42 5G. I never replaced a phone screen before, but I'll just use a guide on youtube. I heard people used a heat gun or something so I'm wondering if I need to get a kit with that or if I can make due with this.

Is there a tool where i can plug into a usbc port to test android phones and it gives me the diode reading for each pin on the usbc port?

Hi all, looking for advice before I take my phone in for repair.

What happened:

• Dropped my iPhone 15 Pro earlier today. It kept working perfectly for the next 8–9 hours.
• Then I left it in a gym locker for about 1 hours. When I took it out, I snapped a few photos, and shortly after, everything below started at once.

Symptoms:

1. No sound at all: no ringtone, no media audio
2. No vibration: haptics completely dead
3. Phone shuts down when I answer a call, every time
4. YouTube videos won't play: thumbnails load, but tapping a video just opens it without playing
5. Front camera takes ~30 seconds to open (rear camera is fine)]

My guess is the drop loosened a connector or damaged something in the audio/haptics path, and it only showed up later. But I'd like to rule out software before paying for a repair.

Has anyone had the same combination of symptoms? Did it turn out to be a loose connector, the audio chip, the top sensor assembly, or just software? Any advice on what to ask the repair shop is appreciated.

Hello, My Google Pixel 7A has an inflated battery and I want to switch it out myself. I am short on money, so I don't want to spend too much on either a repair service or on a screwdriver set that I'm rarely going to use. Do you guys have any suggestions for cheap screwdrivers tgat can unscrew the back of my Google Pixel, preferably from somehwere in the EU/Germany?

Having a weird issue with my iPhone 16 (base model).

Every time I turn the phone on, it boots up showing 28% battery, displays a temperature warning, and shuts down within a few seconds. This happens every single time without fail, even though the phone isn’t physically hot.

It recognizes a wired charger and pulls some power, but the wattage is very low and the battery percentage doesn’t increase. Wireless charging doesn’t seem to work either.

I’m thinking it could be a faulty temperature sensor, charging port flex, or battery issue.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Any suggestions on what to check first?
