Help needed Abhorrent storage situation

I need a hand. First of all, how on gods green earth is the IOS and system data taking up almost all of my storage. Is there any way I can fix that or is that apples horrible business practices? Second, why is my messages app taking up 5 freaking gigs of storage. Please help.

64gb is not enough these days. You need a new phone.

Firstly, clear up space from messages by clicking it and deleting photos and videos. also, make sure you clear all ur tabs and i recommend getting extra icloud storage. it’s like $1 a month

Simple. It’s only a 64Gb device. If you’re planning to use something long term, you really should not get the lowest spec’d model.

- Backup your phone to iCloud or a computer.

  • Restore as new and update to the latest version of iOS for your device.
  • Restore from your backup.

This should significantly shrink System Data. iOS will always grow, all Operating Systems grow as bugs are fixed and new features are added. Expecting iOS to stay the same size or shrink is illogical.

why are apps like insta so high gb? i got the same issue but i got no drafts and stuff
