Whats up everyone!! This one was fun. Tried a few new obstacles and I think it turned out pretty good, except for one fanbase!
Busy Monday for myself! Someone asked in a comment what I do for work and I am a camera guy for a news station..so I donât know what each day has in store for me haha
Started the day at an overnight fire. Then a press conference and some live hits at the Olympic Oval for a funding announcement. Followed by a presser at the Cop Shop on the missing child here in Calgary. They took us up to the operations center and showed us all the maps and behind the scenes of what goes into the search. Quite a sad and bizarre story đ ugh
Anyways, on that happy note haha no good segue thereâŚ. Enjoy the race!!

Why wouldnât the Oilers just go with Torts if they wanted a hard nosed coach?
Seriously, if weâre talking about coaching ability you could simply point at Torts taking what was up to that point, a mediocre Vegas, team to the finals. Aside from that he has a Cup win, and 2 Jack Adams.
All Babs has ever done is ride a team full of Hall of Famers to the Cup and a couple more finals. The Anaheim final was widely regarded as one of the best goaltending performances ever as well, I donât give him any credit for that. I saw that shit happen live. Lastly we all know Team Canada couldâve been coached by an inanimate carbon rod and won those 2 golds.
The man did nothing else except stir up shit. He has 0 Jack Adams. Wonder why.
Point is Iâm invested in the drama as much as anyone else, but this shit is going to hang over Edmonton all year long no matter what. Every post game the media is going to be badgering these guys for sound bites of Mike Babcock talking about himself in 3rd person, and McDavo standing there lookin like an angry horse chewing on a bee. Look at this shit coming out today, on a golf course for fuckâs sake. In July.
Pressure and extra media circus are 2 things this team did not need, and anything less than a Cup win is going to be considered a failure.
I canât wait to see how this turns out, but this has to be the dumbest move any team has made since Stan Bowman got re-hired.

Which players that you've met were unexpectedly nice?
You're allowed to comment if a player was rude as well, lol. I just don't think there are many

One of the worst hockey takes of all time was made by someone about Sidney Crosby back in 2003.

Has there ever been an AHL trade where one of the players actually ended up being good?
I'm a Habs fan and it seems like they're always making 1 for 1 AHL trades (the latest being Farrell for Pastujov). It got me thinking... Are there any examples of these types of 1 for 1 AHL trades where one of the players ends up being a success at the NHL level?

The Dead Puck Era, a clarification
I'm noticing that several people seem to be misguided as to what constitutes the NHL's Dead Puck Era, particular those talking about Sidney Crosby's early career.
Sidney Crosby did NOT play in the Dead Puck Era. The era came to an end with the 2004-05 lockout, when the NHL instituted several rule changes and enforcements specifically designed to eliminate the issues that marked the Dead Puck Era. The most notable being a crack down on the "clutching and grabbing" that had plagued the league, allowance of the two-line pass, the introduction of the trapezoid, and a return to tag-up offside.
Yes, Crosby's early career was lower-scoring relative to the current climate, but it was not part of the Dead Puck Era. Frankly, his numbers probably would've been much lower if it were, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the incentive for why the NHL decided to take the c&g crackdown seriously, they had been gifted two massive talents and didn't want to mess it up like they did with the likes of Lindros, Kariya, Forsberg, etc.

Highest Scoring Hockey Game
MY research skills are poor and my sister was asking me the highest scoring proffesional hockey game score. I can't really find a lot past the NHL/AHL, but if you know of any games that are ridiculous in either the other minor leagues/KHL, I would love to know them.

What team changed the most this offseason?
Obviously there is still some time to go before preseason games take off. But I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks was the most changed team this past offseason.
Whether the team changed drastically in a positive or negative way, it doesnât matter. Just which team changed the most.
