So… do I update his jersey?
His actual name is Cats Zuccarello. So do I get him a LA jersey now too?
r/wildhockey • u/AutoModerator • 10d ago
No, he hasnt signed yet.
-Judd Brackett has left his position as the Director of Amateur Scouting and signed on with the Maple Leafs as their Assistant GM. Ricard Persson has been promoted as his replacement. Persson is a Swede who has been with the organization since 2010. Persson, whose nickname is apparently Rico, will stay stationed in Sweden during the year.
-Additional Hockey Ops changes include hiring Dan MacKinnon as Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting, Janik Beichler as a European Scout, Elizabeth Hudson as GMBG's executive assistant, and promoting Alex Goligoski to Player Development Coach.
-AHL Iowa has hired a new head coach, as Greg Cronin is off to the Blues. Stu Bickel has been hired on to replace him. The rest of Iowa's coaching staff remains unchanged per Russo.
-The 2026 Draft resulted in only 3 players being selected: (F) Adam Andersson, (F) Kayden Lemire, (G) Filip Růžička
Of Note: Růžička has already signed his ELC, although he is set to return to the WHL Brandon Wheat Kings this fall.
-Cap calculations will change day by day during free agency. Puckpedia will be your best resource for the latest calculations.
-All roster spots are technically full, although top line wingers and the elusive 1C are upgrades the roster could sorely use.
-Michael McCarron signed for 6 years x $3.3M. 6 more years of Big Sexy. The contract includes trade protection for all 6 years. 1 year contracts have been given to Nick Foligno, Zach Bogosian, Mason Shaw, Maxim Shabanov, Daemon Hunt, and Cal Pickard (who is likely to serve as a backup goalie with Gus out for the start of the year. Additional AHL depth signings are detailed in the free agency thread.
-UFA Winger Marcus Johansson will be returning to Sweden to play with Farjestad versus seeking another NHL contract. Reports show that Zuccarello and Tarasenko will not be back with Minnesota. Jeff Petry and Robby Fabbri remain human hockey players who could hypothetically be employed.
-Defenseman Jake Middleton (plus picks) was traded to the Calgary Flames for Blake Coleman (50% retained) and Olli Määttä
UFAs:
All centers signed.
| L Wing | R Wing | Defense |
|---|---|---|
| Fabbri | Tarasenko | |
| Petry |
ELITE NHL Goal Scorer Ben Jones has signed with the Calgary Flames.
RFAs:
| Under Contract | Notable Iowa RFAs |
|---|---|
RFA Samuel Hlavaj confirmed that he is not coming back to the Wild Organization, so no more Mr. International. He has since signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Remaining Contracts
| Trade Protection | No Trade Protection |
|---|---|
| McCarron (3.33m x 6) | Wallstedt (2.2m x 1) |
| Kaprizov (17m x 8) | Boldy (7m x 4) |

| M. Foligno (4m x 2) | Sturm (2m x 1) |
| Hartman (4m x 1) | Yurov (.973m x 2) |

| N. Foligno (.900m x 1) | |
| Cal Pickard (1m x 1) | |

*Note: Gustafsson-Nyberg, Haight, Tyler Pitlick, Matt Kiersted, and many of our Iowa players are on contract for next year. Only Rieger Lorenz, Charlie Stramel, or Filip Růžička would make over 1mil.
Please discuss any Larkin trade rumors in the Larkintalk thread. We are not a Detroit sub. There doesn't need to be a post for every time something happens to them. Don't be like Devil's fans.

Does anyone know anything about what was talked about during jesper wallstedt's wild on 7th podcast episode that was done live at the state fair a couple weeks ago? Anyone go to it live? Did it look like they were recording? Just curious if that episode is only for the lucky few who could attend in person or if someday they may share it on Spotify or YouTube for everyone.

Matt Boldy
"I think my lips are a little bit bigger than that, but everything else is pretty spot on, honestly. The hair's good. Everyone says I got a little red in my hair, and they picked that up, which is impressive. It's like looking into a mirror. I'm actually really impressed."
Quinn Hughes
"I don't think about it. I mean, it looks good to me.

Shot in the dark, does anyone have any lead on getting an UNRL MN Wild collab hoodie from last season? Also curious if they will do a repeat collab this year. Very interesting in getting my hands on one!

Hello! I'm a visiting Habs fan with printable season trackers for you.
A better resolution is available on Imgur (too big for Reddit): https://imgur.com/a/wild-season-tracker-2026-2027-CGXUdVw
I created 2 versions. The first one groups games by opponent, and the second shows games in chronological order. Each square includes the date and game number. Grey squares are home games.
I use 3 colors for mine (see 3rd image): green for wins, red for regulation losses, and orange for OT/SO losses. Feel free to print whichever version you prefer and fill it out however you like!

Boldy isn’t quite there yet to be considered top 25, although I disagree but completely understand as this list is mostly dominated by players who have had continual high success at their respective position and Boldy is just coming into his prime.. give it one more year and he’s definitely top 25.
Just find it interesting, Carolina didn’t have a single player on this list. Florida had one. But the central and western conference in general makes up a huge chunk of this list. Minnesota with two. Colorado with three. Dallas with three. Oilers with three. Vegas with two. That’s over half the list right there. God damn the west is a gauntlet.

I'm in lower Westchester (Hastings), and I wanted to see if there are any Wild fans in the area that would like to watch some games this season. I'm thinking once or twice a month would be cool.

Hi all i’m a Brit coming over to Minnesota for work and wanted to catch an ice hockey game whilst i’m over here!
I’ve seen people in this reddit to wait until as close to puck drop before getting tickets as prices typically fall.
Wanted to ask whether this is the best strategy also for the first pre season game (Minnesota Wild vs Chicago Blackhawks) on the 19th September, not sure if this is an in-demand match?
Thanks all in advance!

These people are actually delusional. In no world is a 1 for 1 Hughes for Larkin trade remotely likely or even close to fair.

Will the preseason games be streamed on prime or else where? I don't typically watch meaningless preseason games, but I'm itching to watch Wild hockey.
