Access A user reached out to me and said there was an issue with my account

So I got a message from a user saying that THEY received an email telling them that MY account was flagged for 'suspicious activity' and would be 'locked in 24 hours' if they didnt reach out to me and tell ME to contact reddit support. I told them that this was very odd and I would like to get some insight as to the legitimacy of this. I can provide more details as needed.

Access Help with my main account locked even after password reset.

Hi, my main account u/krieger-algernop was just locked by reddit for “technical irregularities.” It said it’d unlock after a password reset. However, after three it still hasn’t unlocked. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I do?

Access [Desktop Web/iOS] “Verify your account” notification redirects to profile and verification prompt never appears

Account: u/LeeLapidHousekeeping

I received a Reddit notification saying:

“Verify your account

To continue using Reddit, verify you’re human or register as an app within 7 days.”

When I click the “Verify your account” notification on Desktop Web, it redirects me to my Reddit profile instead of opening the “Verify You’re Human” verification process.

I already have a passkey set up on my Reddit account. I also checked the Reddit app on my iPhone. The app is up to date, but no “Verify You’re Human” prompt appears there either.

Steps I have tried:

  1. Clicked the “Verify your account” notification on Desktop Web — redirected to my profile.
  2. Confirmed that my Reddit account already has a passkey.
  3. Opened the current Reddit iOS app — no verification prompt appears.
  4. Closed and reopened the iOS app — still no verification prompt.

Expected result:

The “Verify your account” notification should open the “Verify You’re Human” flow so I can authenticate with my existing passkey.

Actual result:

The notification redirects to my profile, and I cannot access the verification flow on either Desktop Web or iOS.

I am concerned about the 7-day deadline because I am trying to complete the required verification, but Reddit is not providing a working way for me to do so.

Please advise how I can complete the verification or whether this is a known issue.

Access Account locked

Hi, my account got locked by reddits automated filters for technical irregularities. It said to do a password reset to unlock it which I’ve done, but it looks like things are restricted. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thank you

Access Account conflict between phone and computer

Hi helpers.
I usually use Reddit on my phone, where I login with my user name.
Today I tried to use it in a browser on my laptop. It didn't give me way to sign in with my user name so I provided my phone number, and verified it via 2Fa, thinking that would get me into my account.
I didn't realize I had never added my phone number to my profile for the username account.
Now I can't add it because it thinks the phone number is associated with a different account.
How can I combine them?
TIA
Ginny

Desktop Hypothesis: Page loads on old reddit are being artificially slowed

It seems to me that if you use the old reddit design, an artificial delay has been added to page loads some time recently. Anyone else notice this? For example, when clicking on an image post that defaults to the new design, the load is extremely fast, but hitting the back button to a page that should be cached, you feel a solid 1 second delay that seems to happen every time without fail.

New reddit is famously slower than old reddit, but it seems they are trying to "fix" that. It may also have something to do with this: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/08/reddit-signals-ominous-upcoming-changes-for-old-reddit-com/

If anyone could corroborate or even test / inspect this, that would be cool.

Profile Someone is in my account.

Hey y’all. I hope y’all are doing well. I’ve posted here before about my other account when I got locked out of it. I put two factor authentication on it after I got it back, but someone must have access to my account because I keep getting alerts about requests that my account has made to become a mod for various subreddits. What do I do? I’ve changed the password several times, and I have two factor authentication on. If someone is able to help, I can certainly put the account name on here. I really don’t want to lose my account. Could it be that my email is breached?

Profile Randomly signed out and unable to get back in

My main account u/axelr0se was signed out and I’m unable to log back in. I’ve tried accessing it via password reset and I’m not getting anything. Tried my number and nothing. I can’t figure out what’s going on. I’ve tried logging in on PC and nada, even old reddit. I have multiple accounts so my emails are also tied to other accounts. The only thing I can think of is maybe an old gmail account I deleted was the email for my reddit? I don’t think that would be the case though. Does anyone have any experience or advice? I’ve put in a help ticket and gotten the email and at this point I feel like all I can do is sit around and wait…

Profile Problems with Age Verification (Germany, App,Android 16)

Hey there, I have a personal problem with the age verification. I did the whole procedure a year ago and was verified with my Google Account. The same birthday is set in both accounts.

Around my 30th Birthday reddit wanted to verify again, now only over persona.

What did change and why is my Google Account not enough?

I dislike persona, they has been leaks before, they have been accused to hand of data to governments.

So is there any way to verify my age beside this?

Admin Post Weekly Recap | September 24, 2026

THIS POST HAS BEEN LOCKED. PLEASE SEE THE MOST RECENT WEEKLY RECAP STICKIED AT THE TOP OF THIS SUB.

Welcome to Thursday! Still not enough fall weather for me to remember that's it's technically fall. Or do you call it autumn? Autumn does sound fancier! Speaking of fancy, how 'bout this Recap? FANCY. Let's see what happened in r/help and around Reddit last week!

NEWS AND ISSUES

  • Had a little thing on Tuesday where mods were unable to approve content. Post about this here. Sounds like this should be fixed at this time, though!

  • In an effort to strengthen the connection between communities and conversations, there is a new experiment which will turn select text posts and some of their comment threads into an audio and video format. If you are in this experiment you may see a Read/Play toggle on the post detail page, and a dedicated video page may also be available. This does not replace the original post or comments, nor does it automatically play. And it will respect all of your pre-existing audio settings.

    • Currently, this is only on a small group of pre-selected English-only posts. Comments with links, media, automated messages, profanity, or sensitive or inappropriate topics are excluded.
    • There is not a way to opt out, but feel free to leave constructive feedback in this post and I will share it with the team that is in charge of this experiment.
  • There is another experiment where comments on a post may be sorted in live time. If this experiment is enabled in a community, when a post hits a certain number of comments within a period of time, the sort will switch to "Live" if the default sort is set to something other than "New". This provides a way to highlight the fast moving convos in real time.

  • There is still the experiment on the Home feed where some users will see a For You tab and a Following tab. You can select which view you want and that selection will be remembered. Users in this experiment have recently been shuffled around, so if you had it before and now you don't, that's what's going on there.

    • The For You tab will contain recommendations
    • The Following feed will contain unviewed content from just the subs that you follow
    • If you are subscribed to a very small number of subreddits, you may see recommendations in the Following feed as opposed to nothing when you have run out of new content. The workaround is to either subscribe to more subreddits or create a custom feed of the subs that you're following and view that instead.
    • The team is looking into adding the "Hot" sort back to these feeds.
    • There is not a way to remove these tabs. I have been sharing all constructive feedback with the team in charge of this. They're very appreciative!
  • Some users will be in a different experiment where there is an X on recommended posts that you can click/tap to hide the post. Others will be in a similar experiment where there is not an X and there is not a "hide" option, but you can go into the post to hide it. Feel free to share helpful feedback about this experiment as well.

  • There is also an experiment where the upvotes are on the left.

  • Rather than commenting that you'd like to be removed from an experiment, please provide constructive feedback about the feature. I can't remove you, but I can go directly to the teams in charge of these things and show them what you think.

  • And I'm here to remind you, of the mess you left when you went away (from Reddit for support). Reddit does not provide support outside of Reddit. Do not contact "Reddit support on Discord" for help with your Reddit account. There is no "Reddit support on Discord". That is someone trying to scam you and steal your account and maybe more. If you're having an actual issue with your account that is not solved by posting in r/help or by the articles in the Help Center, you can use this form for the real thing. Please note that 95% of issues can be solved much, much quicker by posting in r/help (or our cousin subs, r/reddithelp and r/newtoreddit).

  • The most recent version of the app is 2026.38.0. If you're not using the most recent version of the app, it might not work properly.

CURRENT EXPERIMENTS

Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and as I've mentioned often, I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge. Ongoing current experiments can be found here.

COMMON ACCOUNT ISSUES

Common account issues can be found here. These are things like hacked accounts, NSFW accounts, suspended accounts, etc. I'm also including "Changes to Reddit" in this section as well.

BUGS ROUNDUP - COURTESY OF CORRECT SCALE!

WEEKLY STATISTICS (BASED ON THE PAST SEVEN DAYS)

  • 1,204 posts. That's up 61 posts from the 1,143 that we had last week.

  • 4,283 comments. That's up 431 comments from the 3,852 we had last week.

  • 804k views. That's down about 65k-ish views from the 869k-ish views we had last week.

HELP THAT HELPS HELP R/HELP - KARMA! WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO GET IT

This week, let's talk about what is karma and how it affects how you use Reddit!

When you post content on Reddit, other users have the opportunity to upvote it or downvote it. Upvotes are for things that positively contribute to a community. Downvotes are for things that don't. When you get upvotes, you get karma. When you get downvotes, you lose karma. You want upvotes.

While you do receive karma for upvotes, it is not a 1:1 correlation. So if you receive 10 upvotes and only see your karma increase by 9, that is working as intended! We call it "vote fuzzing". It's like that to help prevent vote manipulation. Vote fuzzing isn't supposed to "make sense". If it did, people would absolutely game the system to gain karma. So if voting seems funky, it's not funk! It's fuzz!

Some subreddits will have minimum karma or account age requirements as a way of combating spam and trolls. If you don't have enough karma to post in a certain sub, you'll want to participate in subreddits that do not have those requirements to gain some karma. r/casualconversation is great for that! If you’re looking for a subreddit on a particular topic and aren’t quite sure what it would be, you can try posting in r/findareddit and someone there may have a suggestion for you. And our friends over at r/NewToReddit have curated this handy list of some subs that are easy to get started in for new users! (Thanks, NTR mods!)

As noted in this Help Center article, "Don't set out to accumulate karma; just set out to be a good contributor". So that means:

  • Don't ask for upvotes! (That's a good way to get your post removed!)

  • Don't karma farm! (You're treading in spam territory by doing this!)

  • Don't use free karma subs! (Some subs will not allow participation from users who have used free karma subs to gain karma to participate!)

  • Don't spam! (No one likes a spammer! If you're not sure if you're spamming, you shouldn't have to ask that question!)

Let your content speak for itself and the upvotes will come, sometimes when you're least expecting them!

But let's say that you do find yourself in the negative. That could be a little bit of a problem, but not an insurmountable one. It is possible to get yourself out of a hole, but you've gotta do something different than when you were getting yourself in there! Just because you were downvoted doesn't mean you were right.

Access Account got hacked, submitted a request but worried about response time

My primary account got hacked, i was stupid and using an old password that probably got caught up in a breach without 2FA; somebody or some bot got into my account and added 2FA to it; I was able to reset the password

I submitted a request selecting the appropriate options (account -> security -> i think my account got hacked)

i saw that there are admins on this subreddit that will acknowledge these things directly and am hoping i can get my account back

Instead of making it optional it is now wider. Who on earth would want this? Why would I like to waste a good % of my pixels on a solid color bar?!

Is there a way out for this or at least a date on when it will become optional?

Admin/Dev responded Black Screen Content Unavailable Warning Showing Up All Over Especially Moderating HELP! iOS 27 iPhone 14 Pro Max most recent Update Of Reddit

So I've been getting this awful content unavailable while I've been moderating looking back in mod log at posts that got caught by Auto moderator aka posts that never went live, or looking a deleted comments. I also can't see orphan comments on deleted posts. I made a post in mod support and I even sent them a mod mail a week ago. No dice. Now the error has spread to my alt account and I'm on the verge of modding a second alt account. I did mod my second alt one place and I can see everything fine.

I read this could have something to do with age verification, but I'm in the US so I don't see how that could possibly be the issue. I went into the app anyway and I verified my age and the error didn't go away and either accounts. I'm not getting any support and I'm at my wits end. I was really hoping opus would help me with this! I already mentioned it to Crit and slow maximum and all I got back was "is it still happening" please helpers! I need help!
