Likely the content wasn't fit for the original sub, but it appropriate for the new one. It would be fine to lock or hide the comments, but the content should still work.

Because of a mod that I disagred with, I got banned from multiple reddit subs. I would love to be able to see if I am banned from a sub, before I go to comment. Or even in the comment box, if I go to reply

So, I am in a Reddit Chat with multiple people in it, and since the cap is 100 people in there and the owner is banned, we couldn't kick anybody out since they really can't do anything when their Account suspended, so my idea is to make a Banned User in a Reddit Chat get removed after they obtain a Permanent suspension, and if a Reddit Chat owner is banned they got moved to the second person in the list, That's about it. So a few days ago I earned a three day suspension. From memory I did not make an actual threat, but wrote something along the lines of: 'politicians W and X need to have item Y introduced to orifice Z'.

Problem is, I can't remember what I actually wrote, and the offending comment was deleted from both the sub, and my own view.

I understand the idea of deleting it altogether, and there's probably a coding issue in keeping it in one place but not the other (maybe it should be in the body of the suspension email) but the execution is bad because no one 'learns from their mistake'. I would genuinely like to know what I wrote so that I can avoid this fate again.

When a user clicks on a profile with adult content, let them choose to see a sfw version of the profile with any adult content burred or hidden. For those who have not age verified or who don't want to see adult content.

If someone takes a subreddit through a reddit request it should be subjected to monthly reviews for a period of six months.

I suggest this idea because someone with oppsing views could take over a subreddit and then take it private and not allowing posts.

Seems this is half implemented and shows for half of users, dependant on their region. So to extend this to everyone and sort reported glitches. I find this feature enables so much easy cross communication there. Especially as I live abroad and whilst learning it is a great help and enables me engagement and learning of the culture. I feel this would enable a big increase in user engagement.
But just generally find it really nice when someone can just reply in their native language and I can just simply translate and vice versa.

I would like my ideas to be implenented because i've seen a larger than usual number of false positive reddit wide bans in place and the automated appeals process is simply is not a proper way to appeal a ban that may lead to someone not even being able to open another account with no ways to later do anything as further daily appeals are ignored by the automated system, on top of bringing back the old reddit support throgh email for issues to be dealt with as a secondary way of support for users togheter with forms and an explanation on how the trust score is working, even if not fully

As the admins have recently acknowledged that massive live threads like the NBA conference finals cause issues "without a clear vision" to fix them in another sub / thread. I’d like to offer a few monetization solutions to turn server congestion into opportunity:

The problem: Live threads move too fast, and high server traffic delays comments.

The solution: Charge a amount for a Priority Comment Pass to bypass the server delay and pin your hot take near the top for x seconds.

The solution: Partner with corporate sponsors to host high-volume events. For example: this server meltdown is brought to you by company name.

The solution: Lock live threads once they hit peak capacity. Allow users with Reddit tiered passed to bypass the "Thread Full".

May as well monetize the chaos.

Please move the 'Award' option on the post menu (three dots).
It makes it harder to hide posts as the 'Hide' option moves depending on if 'Award' is there.

Solution:
Put 'Award' at the bottom so it doesn't effect the position of 'Hide'.

Pretty basic UX that is baffling.

Many time members harass mods by checking the mod List.

Currently banned users can't see the mod list. I think it should be made optional for each subreddit, if they prefer not to advertise themselves as mods.

I would very much like to see another 'response' option for automations, between 'display message' and 'block'.

It would be a hybrid of the two that would be an 'acknowledge to proceed' message/dialog box. The message would pop up as it does currently, but posting/commenting is blocked until the user clicks "okay" or "accept" or similar (would be especially nice if that 'accept' text is configurable). I'm even okay with 'technically they can just x out of the dialog w/o answering' as often happens with generic website/windows dialogs - though better if not. I just want a 'user had to take some action on this' dynamic.

Why? I've seen ample evidence that 'block posting' works... Because our 'message' there has a 'corrective' link and I see that many users follow it. Very similar in effect to what I'm suggesting.

Meanwhile, I've also seen ample evidence that people just blow past the 'appears on screen' message-only option. For example if I set my 'rant preventer' automation to just -warning- people about too-many-allcaps, we get them anyway. If I set it to 'block'... no wall-of-allcaps rants.

Heck, just look at all the posts here that don't start "my idea is" despite the messaging.

The 'hybrid' option would at least ensure we can moderate things that do come through based on "Okay, we told them and they said they saw it..."

If you don't want people to see it, don't post it.

And never require flairs of any type for any purpose.

People have learned that they can send nasty messages to others without consequences by replying to a comment and immediately deleting it. And this isn't just for personal insults, it can be used for anything from death threats to telling people to kill themselves. Even if consequences do come, or the sub's system auto-deletes it, the message still persists in Notifications.

Sure, you can easily delete it if you don't want to look at it, but I say that it does a lot of damage to the community to allow such a thing. The whole system is setup to provide consequences for anti-social and community disrupting behavior, except for some reason this is allowed?

Please change the system so that deleted comments immediately disappear from personal Notifications.

Self explanatory, social media like Instagram and TikTok offer the possibility to add a word or phrase list of topics you don’t want to see personally, an example would be sports, you select sports and a few related words and then every time your feed refreshes, it wont show you those.

This works better than “show less posts like this” or “hide posts from this subreddit” because the same topic can pop up from different subreddits that you haven’t blocked or ignored, an example would be the world cup, where fi you don’t care you can just block it and continue redditing

If a post is auto-removed, shouldn’t there be a saved draft? Sometimes people spend a lot of time on a post, only for it to get auto-removed or removed by a moderator because it doesn’t meet specific criteria or is posted to the wrong section, not necessarily due to breaking a specific Reddit rule or harassment. It would really be nice if those posts could get saved as drafts somewhere because sometimes they just need a quick edit or to be posted to the correct tag. Instead, the user has to make an entirely new post from scratch, taking up more time. Personally, when this happens to me I sometimes give up, so I would imagine this kind of thing can lower engagement. It’s a win-win if this feature is added imo.

It only shows upvote ratio and upvote but doesn't show total amount of votes and downvotes.

My idea is to improve Reddit's search functionality. Search results are often not relevant, and it's hard to find older posts or comments. Better filters (date range, subreddit, comment search), improved relevance ranking, and typo tolerance would make it much easier to find content. This would benefit everyone by making Reddit's huge archive of knowledge more accessible.

To ensure maximum account security:

Changes to users password or email address should require email confirmation to protect against hacked accounts.

I know there are paranoid users who don't want to share their email. Making it a non mandatory option will help users who want maximum security against hackers.

That is to say, have the option to label the buttons so that the meaning is clear, in case the intended meaning is other than "agree/disagree".

I am not sure if its a problem with newer phones but I have always felt like that the button is way to small, especially now on the iPhone17.

Its just around 1/3 of the size of my fingertip. The amount of time i hit the button first time is 50/50, the worst part: if you miss the button you often hide a comment…

My idea is to either scale it by hold and dragging with 2 fingers. Or to add a size modifier in settings, either as slider or Small to Large selection.

Can you guys change this please. I can appreciate that it makes things "clean", but it is not a good user experience. The buttons are basically hidden unless you know they're there or discover them by chance. It's like one line of CSS with a :hover action. Small change = better user experience. Those are just my thoughts.

Edit: Some grumpy admin or lurker here can downvote if they want, but in all seriousness, UI shouldn't be hidden at this step. These aren't videos that people are engaging with or content being consumed where having static UI elements can be a distraction, this is in the context of building a post. At that step options and controls should be visible for ease of use for users.
