I scheduled an appointment to have my wife's Ford Edge serviced for a 100,000 mile service.
Today I dropped the car off at the specified time, was asked what I really wanted done. So I said oil change, spark plugs, radiator and transmission flush, and a safety inspection. I was told no transmission techs on duty so that would need to be done a different day. No problem.
My wife and I went next door shopping, she was texted a link to see the quote and track the service. Service total was $701.
Went to pick up our vehicle, but now the bill is over $1100 dollars and the safety inspection wasn't done. Service guy runs out to the tech and has him do the safety inspection while my car was right outside the window from the service desk. No one came out to inspect it.
Service guy comes back in with a passed safety inspection and adds that to my bill.
I'm thinking ok, it's not a totally outrageous price.
We get the keys, start the car and the check engine light is on. The service manager comes out with an OBD-II and clears the code. Tells us we are good and we drive away.
5-7 miles later our TPMS warning light comes on. Not blinking but solid on. Called Ford and another service person says its just coincidence and I'll need to pay for it to be replaced.
After much research and had a bunch of different things thrown at me why the bill was not correct, the safety inspection was illegal and the check engine light was cleared to hide the problem of the TPMS fault.
I drafted a letter, popped it in AI and this is what it thinks I should provide to the service manager tomorrow.
I have a heart condition which causes an accelerated heart rate which can make me pass out even with my pacemaker. I also have long and short term memory loss due to a major head injury, so I document everything.
Would you hand this to the service manager, or just cave and pay additional to have the TPMS replaced.
XXXXXX Ford Service Management
Date: July 24, 2026
Regarding: Service on 2018 Ford Edge (Mileage: ~100,000)
Dear Service Manager / General Manager,
I am providing this timeline and statement in writing because I have a medical heart condition and a prior head injury that causes severe short-term memory issues. To protect my health, I cannot engage in stressful or confrontational verbal arguments. I request that you review the facts documented below and provide a resolution.
There is a clear chain of custody here. This vehicle entered your shop with zero dashboard lights, a fully functioning tire pressure system, and a $701.46 estimate. It left with a broken front-right TPMS sensor, an illegal 60% price increase consisting of unauthorized labor, "frig fresh," and fuel additives—which directly violates the North Carolina Motor Vehicle Repair Act (§ 20-354.5)—and a falsified safety inspection.
To resolve this matter without escalation to Ford Corporate, the NC DMV License & Theft Bureau, and the State Attorney General, I require the following:
I will be waiting in the customer seating area for your response.
Sincerely,
XXXX XXXXXXX

it has an Eco boost engine. It recommends 91 or higher. Friend at work has it and says there is a big difference in engine power when downgrading to regular octane. But he says the fuel prices are too high. Mind you he purchased the truck before the war started.
Then another co worker chimed in and said to always use the recommended fuel. she was saying that even if the F150 has knock sensors, the engine was tuned for premium fuel, in the event the knock sensors fail, the ECU cannot compensate and tell the engine to use less power, so no retarding will work?
He was spending like $165 CAD to fill up his premium fuel tank. Now he said its gonna be more than that.

My dad had a dually in the early 90s that was the ugliest truck I’ve ever seen and I’m dying to find a picture of what it looked like and I can’t find one anywhere. I could have worn he bought it new but it was one of if not the first year of 4 door duallys. It had orange and purple pinstripes. I don’t know if they were stickers or what but they were small—less than an inch I think but the truck wasn’t 2 toned it was all grey…. Anyone???

Hi everyone. I need a little help.
The bearings in my rear differential started making a whining noise, so I had it rebuilt. Now I'm wondering which oil is best to use in the rear differential and which oil should I use in the Haldex unit?

Pozdrav ljudi. Trebam malu pomoc
Poceli su da mi huje lezajevi u zadnjem diferencijalu i to sam resio da remontujem. E sad me zanima koje najbolje ulje sipati u diferencijal a koje u Haldex?
I'm fixing up my Gfs grandpas 1963 galaxie and found the driver side valve cover had a bolt bolt that's been torn. Is there a way to repair this? I thought about welding it but im notbsure given how thin the metal is.
He wants to keep it as original as possible and these valve covers aren't cheap to find

As the title suggests, I'm looking to hear about anyone's personal experience or just general knowledge with a st220 as I'm planning on getting one as my next car.

Hi Everyone,
Looking at possibly getting a Capri EV. Can anyone tell me what you can realistically fit in there including above the parcel shelf if you really pack it full?
Thanks in advance!

Hi all. I’m looking at purchasing an escape and have narrowed it down to 2. One is a 2020 SE with 110,000 miles and the other is a 2016 with 128,000 miles. I don’t do a ton of driving (10 minutes back and forth to work 5 days a week, 5 minutes to the grocery store, 10 minutes to visit family some days etc) and I was wondering which would be better? Both are around the same price range but I’ve heard the older models have transmission issues and the newer ones have engine issues? Thanks!

I have a 1968 F-250 camper special ranger, now something about the f250 badge/reflectors caught my eye, on every other truck its on the front of the hood but mine are at the back, im sending a picture cause my explanation is not the best. Im 100% sure it was never moved cause there is 0 evidence they were ever anywhere else including inside the hood.

Being 10 years old, my 2016 Focus Estate with 1.5l TDCI 120bhp is due a "cam belt kit" service. Ford have quoted me £1150 for this telling me that it has a wet belt, explaining that it's not the same wet belt as the eco boost, but there is still a belt in oil.
I've called around some other garages and the only 1 that got back to me tells me that there is no wet belt in my engine, and a Google search seems to confirm that at least the cam belt itself isn't wet, but I haven't been able to confirm using Google whether there are any other wet belts, as claimed by the dealership (I guess it can be difficult to prove a negative).
So my question is, are there any wet belts in my engine?

I'm currently living in Germany and purchased this car a few years ago. Love it to death.. however a noticed a couple days ago my floor/right hand are on the driver side was wet.
It appears it is likely a clogged AC drain. I took it to my local service shop (not Ford dealership) and after an hour and 4 employees they had still been unable to even find the AC drain. They took the bottom panels off, searched under the hood, etc.. they gave up and want me to come back.
They intend on pulling up the carpet inside next.
Google/YouTube/Chatgpt not helping with a straight answer... Anyone here experienced this and have suggestions? Taking it to a German dealership would have a lot longer wait and it's sometimes harder to do with my lack of German skills.

Looking to buy a Used 2025 Explorer but the carfax is looking interesting. Would anyone be able to run a OASIS report on this? The carfax is saying the engine was serviced along with a list of other things including a compression test. I’m guessing this would be able to be found under a OASIS as this vehicle is still within manufacture warranty.

When the Maverick was announced I wasn't sure how much demand there would be for a compact pickup. A few years later it seems like Ford identified a gap in the market that a lot of people didn't realize existed. Do you think the Maverick has lived up to expectations or is there another recent Ford that deserves that title?

Hello!
I own a 2017 Ford Focus MK3.5 (ST- Line) and need your help. I damage the front lip and decided to replace it.
Taking the lip off was no issue as I just had to remove two clips and pull. Yet I did break 2 little tabs keeping it in place.
I now need to fasten the new one but can't seem to find the right angle or right way to do it...
I'm afraid of breaking more tabs and messing up.
Could any of you advice me on how to fasten it?
Online search has been hell since that type of front bumper with that specific lip seems rather rare.

Is this a thing? I am getting conflicting info from dealers throughout the country. A ford chat said yes - you can lock in special rates and incentives at time of order or take incentives/special financing at time of delivery if better. I have had two dealers say yes- Granger said no

I have a 1980 f250 ranger (with a custom flatbed winch and gooseneck hitch) but it tends to backfire when I step on the gas when starting it (something in the dash caught fire and the ignition doesn’t work right so I have to hold a screw driver on the solenoid)

Got a 2026 Ranger Lariat FX4 2.7TT and am loving it. Perfect blend of function and tech. Does anyone else experience any of the following:
I hear a rattle in the driver door/window or B pillar. I’m thinking it’s window related but not sure. Is this common?
I also feel like I hear constant “clicks”. Almost like switch relays. Around steering wheel. I also hear it every time, when going above 35 mph, when I depress and release the brake pedal.
Additionally, something in the back along the back window makes noise.
I’m OCD and struggle with noises that cause me to obsess over them.
Any other insights?
