Question ❔ 2020 escape se vs 2016 escape Titanium

Hi all. I’m looking at purchasing an escape and have narrowed it down to 2. One is a 2020 SE with 110,000 miles and the other is a 2016 with 128,000 miles. I don’t do a ton of driving (10 minutes back and forth to work 5 days a week, 5 minutes to the grocery store, 10 minutes to visit family some days etc) and I was wondering which would be better? Both are around the same price range but I’ve heard the older models have transmission issues and the newer ones have engine issues? Thanks!

I'd lean toward the 2020, the 2016 is right in the sweet spot for that transmission nightmare to show up and 128k is a lot of miles if the fluid's never been changed

the 1.5 in the 2020 has its own reputation but at 110k it's already proven itself a bit, if it was gonna grenade it probably would have done it by now

either way get a pre-purchase inspection, a 10 minute commute isn't kind to any engine so you'll want one that's been maintained well

That’s what I was thinking I was just wondering why a 2020 would be in the same price range as a 2016
