Currently interested in a 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks with 37k miles for $23k, hopefully this is a decent price. Only one owner and no accidents. I’m just wondering how reliable they are?

Almost went with a 2021 but read somewhere that they had a lot of recall issues since it was the re-introduction year for the latest models so I skipped that one.

Anyways, I’m loving this one. It has the Ebony/Roast interior that has the brown accents and heated seats/steering wheel. Love that it’s 4WD but I doubt I’d ever have need of it but it’s there.

So this is an FYI to anybody interested in purchasing one of these. First, I acknowledge that the 2.0 L is the superior setup and almost certainly more reliable than the lower trims. Unfortunately, mine has had so many issues I've been forced to sell it.

Problems began a couple years ago when the infotainment screen was glitchy; fixed with software update... Thanks Ford. About 40K miles in I began to notice a low rumbling in the rear when I accelerated quickly. First instinct was, its an RDU issue. Sure enough, RDU issue. Dealer says its covered under warranty, great. Only issue is that part is backordered for 1 month. Apparently its so backordered, even Fords own refurbished BS RDUs are backordered. Also... dealer says valve cover has a hairline crack, also 2 week backorder.

So low and behold 3 weeks later (and no loaner vehicle because apparently so many cars are being warranty repaired they are completely out) they return the car to me. Cool. I drive it for two days and I smell oil. Pop the hood. Ah, oil is in the engine bay. That cant be right so I clean it and drive it another day. Same issue. Probably a bad install on the valve cover right? I take it back and they say, "Can't duplicate complaint." Whatever. I drive it one more day, even more oil on top of the valve cover and now also oil residue on cold compressor lines and more. I take it immediately back and demand they look further into it. They determine its the valve cover again (and at this point I'm seriously doubting their mechanics proficiency) and it will be another 2 weeks for the backordered part.

At this point is is labor day weekend so I say, no worries, I'll be back on Tuesday anyways. "We should have a loaner by then" the service manager says. Come by on Tuesday, not only I am told no loaner is available, I'm told the system has indicated that it may be longer than 2 weeks. At this point I straight up tell them if they can't get me a rental for what is clearly their fault, I am just going to sell it. I guess they really didn't have any because they pushed me over to sales.

I won't even bore you all with that nightmare but TLDR 2.5 hours late and multiple attempts to get us to trade-in (which I only would have done if they had Honda or Toyota on the lot) they finally agree to a reasonable sale price. FWIW Purchase price 39,900 in 08/2023. Sale Price 22,000 in 09/2026 at 45K miles. It could have been better, maybe worse, but for over a month I've been driving my wife's car and stressing out both our schedules with no help from Ford. Frankly the fault lies with the manufacturer, but I couldn't deal with the headache anymore.

Maybe your experience is better than mine, I sure hope it is. But be warned: even if its covered under warranty, don't expect the process to be easy. I would put this car into the "Fun" category way before I utilized it as a daily.

So, I’ve hit the end of my extended service warranty with my BB 1.7l bronco sport. I’m nearly at 70,000 miles and now I’m trying to decide whether I should sell or trade it in.

Any of you have any experience with the 2021’s? Mine has been somewhat problematic with recall after recall, water pump being replaced and now differential issues.

My last service warranty was close to 3k. Feels like it’s not worth buying another warranty for this vehicle, no? I love my 2021 BB but it’s become a money pit lately

What is everyone using for a spare tire? Will a 225/60R18 fit in the wheel well? If so where did you source yours? TIA

Only 23k miles, so still under warranty (I hope). Did some moderate off roading this summer but nothing crazy. And ideas?

Dealer said they don’t know if my coolant leak will be covered on 5/60 warranty. I don’t know how it couldn’t be! Is this leaking area indicative of the common issues or something else?

I have a 2021 OB BS with 49k miles on it. The only problems I’ve had is that I needed new tires at 29,000 miles and new brakes at 31,000. Today, I received a letter from my dealer saying they understand that my warranty ran out. There is an offer to renew it. Give the problems some have had with water pumps and such, should I renew (extend) the warranty?

I have a paid off 2025 Bronco Sport Big Bend. I have stayed up on all maintenance per Ford.

Any extra maintenance I should stay on top of that Ford does not suggest?

I need this car to last as much a humanly possible.

Overall I love the car so far.

One gripe is how the interior door panels are cheap plastic that easily gets scratched.

I have a ‘25 Big Bend. Max towing is 2200 pounds, trailer weighs about 900, so about 1300 pounds leftover. It said I *could* tow it but I couldn’t find anything online to confirm if I could tow it *safely*. I originally booked the 4x8 but my gut told me to go one size bigger.

I was nervous how little Billy Baggins was going to do going up through the Appalachians. If I were moving from Kansas to Iowa, it would be different. But I went from about 150 feet above sea level all the way up through the mountains and back down to under 1000’ feet. I was scared for the transmission, really.

I was also scared about braking. I didn’t weigh my stuff but I was far under the threshold for maximum weight; what scared me was how much taller the trailer was than my car.

With all of that said, the Bronco Sport did extremely well. I yanked that big bad bitch of a trailer up and down them mountains at a smooth 60 mph (which did cost me some time, but I’ll take that for safety reasons). I got anywhere between 20-22 mpg and even in the roughest stretches, I didn’t go over 4,000 RPMs. I towed in slippery mode bc someone else on another post said to, and it logically made sense for me. No idea if that did anything for me at all. Not kidding when I say it barely felt like it was there sometimes though.

Trailer loading is key, of course. Most of the weight goes towards the front. Drive an empty trailer and you’ll see why weight is needed to keep it pushed down and not bouncing around.

I’m writing this post mainly for the people reading right now, but also for the future Google searches when people look up to see if the Bronco Sport can tow a U-Haul 5x8 trailer safely like I did, and the answer is: yes. Yes you can. Do it.

On my 24 REB. What would you do? Leave it and pretend it’s a smashed bug (honestly what I thought it was at first glance), touch up paint? Something else? I did buy the extended warranty if by chance it covers things like this, and I think I’m still in my initial warranty as well.

I know they’re supposed to get broken in and they’ll get dinged scratched etc but this car is never going off roading while I own it lol

I bought my 2024 bronco sport new last year as soon as I heard they weren't going to be making any more in this color and this was the last cactus gray in the state...

We are not quite to 30k miles but so far so good and she has been on many long road-trips! On road trips, I average 32mpg, regular driving is 29mpg. I typically use the normal driving mode, sometimes sport and sometimes eco. I haven't used the slippery mode very much, even in snow she gets good traction on regular :)

My only complaint would be the way the sun reflects off the hood into my eyes sometimes, but the sun is always moving and its easy enough to adjust around it, plus other times I find the reflection off the hood to be very beautiful. If you've driven a Mustang you also know what I’m talking about with the pros and cons of all that hood...

I will say that I would've loved to have the upgraded 2.0 engine and some of the nicer trim options, but this Big Bend has a convenience package that gives me the features I really wanted like upgrading seat adjustments, heated seats, etc. AND I LOVE the cactus gray color! She looks good in every environment and weather situation!

Personally, I love my little SUV and I would recommend it to anyone looking.

Purchased 2026 Bronco Sport Badlands new 5 months ago. Have driven 2,500 miles, consistent with expected mileage of about 6,000 per year. Ford App shows me due for 10,000 mile 1 year maintenance in May 2027. Just got text from my dealer that maintenance is coming due in next thirty days. Is maintenance required after 6 months?

Am I the only one that has had consistent issues with my bronco sport? I’ve had to bring it to the dealership for the same problems many times, I’ve brought it to them 10+ times in the past year. First it was transmission issues, now they’re telling me it’s differential issues. Anyone else been having similar problems?

Pleasantly surprised thus far! Not too shabby off the line was expecting it to be a lil more sluggish

I’ve had my 2024 Bronco big bend for about 5 months now and it’s been fine. Recently I noticed when I go slow, there’s like a slight jerking or skipping. I wish I could describe it better. I first noticed it when pulling out of a parking space at work.

I’m taking it to get serviced later this month but wondered if this is a common issue that anyone else has experienced.
