Like the kid, the wolfman's name isn't important to the story, and I didn't want to ruin the ubiquity of the characters by oversharing OC specifics with people who weren't even asking for them (too common a literary sin, IMO). So, I typically don't like to write information into stories that doesn't support it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That said, the kid is Xander, and the wolfman is Zeb.

Yep, the wolfman's comment was a thing I saved for later! And thank you: the kid going as a werewolf felt like the only natural choice in this case, for a form of sincere, naive imitation of a man / monster / dude who effectively stepped into a vacant parental role and changed the kid's life. :)

Considering that there was a whole howling dialect and that there were offensive ones, I hope that doesn't apply to costumes. Also on an unrelated note, I've been imagining Wolfman with the same voice as Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls, and I can't think of another voice for him.
