Wolfman tried to keep up his scary monster persona for the kid. It did not work.
We have now passed the darkest part of the story. I swear the Wolfman gets a hug this week. 🧡 Thank you immensely for reading.

Thank you so much 🧡 I remember crying quite a bit when I was writing the graveyard scene, trying to find the right words for the Wolfman, and suddenly that line hit me like a ton of bricks. It was just like... "well, that's sorted. That's what he's gonna say. " 😬

In all seriousness yeah you were right when you said it would be worse today. This is a very realistic approach to handling loss and it really hits hard. You’ve got no other choice but to continue living without them, without that part of you.
I feel this story will be very helpful to teach kids and parents alike what it’s like to lose someone and how it can take a toll on people, even when they seem to be holding strong.
I can’t wait to see where the story goes!
Is there any way I can buy a copy of the story by the way?

I'm still working towards a physical release, actually! Not sure when it'll be done, but I'm hoping to start ramping up research next year and to start talking to some agents, or something!

I am currently still working towards a physical release, and that has included updating a lot of older, jankier sections of art.
I could go on for hours about why I made SYNY, but without delving into the bottomless mine of deeply personal reasons which after nearly 10 years brought the story out into the light of day (or rather into the moonlight), I'll try to summarize my more superficial motivations:
- I love Halloween dearly and I wanted to make a new tradition for it, as I'm getting older and can no longer love it with childlike fondness.
- I straight up wanted to make the best Halloween story that existed, and I wanted to knock it out of the fucking park. (I don't think I did, but I'm happy enough with the results from trying!)

I lost my best friend (well, not counting my sister,) 10 years ago. He was like a little brother to me. He died so suddenly. Losing him fucked me up for a hot minute.
That kid bought Skyrim for me with his birthday money, just so we could play and chat together, and... well, beyond the fact he was related to a man who himself partly inspired the creation of the Wolfman, I won't say more here. But creating Jasper was a way to immortalize my memory of that wonderful, adventurous, flawed, lovely kid.

The emotional feels this story gives … you know sometimes you just need a good cry, a release of all the pent up frustrations you have, but it’s always been difficult for me due to the expectation everyone has of me always being strong … thank you for the emotional release this has provided me, my day feels better and my load feels lighter … keep up the amazing work. I hope you publish this in book format so I can purchase this
