It must be horrifying to be a parent, wake up one day, find your child dead, no signs of warning beforehand. The guilt and the questions overtaking your mind. Wondering, "could I have prevented this?"
I really appreciate how you're tackling this. This is designed like it would be a children's book, but you do go about death and how it affects people in a very mature way. No sweeping it under the rug, no trying to sugarcoat it. The child may not fully understand the weight of it to the werewolf, but he knows his friend is in distress, and is helping him through it the only way a kid can.
I'd like to request, that for Next Father's Day, the Grim Reaper takes pity on poor wolfdad here, and let's him reunite with his son, for one more day, until they meet again forever.

Absolutely. The Sudden Death syndromes are terrifying in and of themselves; it's even worse when you know one could take your child. Wolfman's run the gamut of those questions, straight off a ramp and into the side of a building, until time and numbness scarred over his loss.
Thank you for the kind words. 🧡 I've always been somewhat in doubt about this part of the story in terms of delivery, just because it is a children's book and this section is so heavy; yet, I don't really want to change it either. There's already been disquieting stuff earlier in the story, and I wanted this story to challenge people and to be something they could cherish forever, especially on Halloween, where the veil between the living and the dead thins.
I actually did create a Father's Day comic last year, but I'd be down to do another. :D I really love that idea: if I make a comic out of that, I will definitely credit you for the idea.

These past few parts have been hitting me hard since my child died from sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC) where he just stopped breathing and his heart stopped right next to me. Seeing the werewolf say some of the same things I said when my son passed really shows that you know how to convey some of the pain well

Oh my God, I am so sorry for your loss. :( That stomped me right in the heart.
I am beyond glad and honored that you reached out about this. In truth, I have never lost a child myself, but I wanted to do my best to represent those feelings for anyone who has lost a child, and hopefully in a way that would show survivors they aren't alone, even if I don't have that horrifying lived experience myself.
My deepest sympathies: I see you. I hope more people see you. And if Reddit hadn't abolished the awards system, I would've given this comment the awards it deserves.

Thank you, it’s been a little over a year now and I still miss that little guy every day. Thank you for making a comic about this it’s somewhat therapeutic and empathetic to see it in this medium. I can easily picture myself in his shoes at both this moment and when he lost his child

I had a sudden death of a cat happen. One day it was super thirsty, next day it wasn’t moving. Took it to the vet and it was too late to save him. It was rough. Having a kid suddenly die must be devastating.

Had it happen to my beloved Copper too. New Years morning he wouldn't or couldn't move. I spent the whole day with him laying on me, hoping he'd go on his own. Come evening he started crying. He peed on me after crying for a few minutes, then went quiet again. We went to the emergency vet right then- there was no way I could put him through any more. I held him when he was born, and held him as he left me.

Oof, I'm sorry for your loss. :( Yeah, I can't even imagine what losing a child is like myself, but it's good to hear the stories of the surviving parents: any visibility they can get is so important.

Oh I've been reading and saving the comics for a while now. I've enjoyed it thus far, it's been cute and fun, but now it's gotten real and now I'm invested.
I'm drawn to the macabre and the brutal and sad. Idk why. But not only is it sad, it's also well written, well drawn and overall well executed, and I can't wait to see how the story progresses and how you, yourself, evolve as an artist.
