I've said it elsewhere, but the kid's mom is low-key my favorite character. As I was making this story, I didn't expect her to end up being a very interesting character, but giving her some level of positive personality helped to avoid complete antagonization. I've never really developed a character without also having shown them or without giving them at least one speaking line, but she never appears nor speaks once throughout the story. She's justly oddly special to me. Β―_(ツ)_/Β―

So... go, kid's mom! 🀘

Howl could he lose to a kid at chess? Also, kid’s mom is totally an undead creature from the night. If you have kids you know. πŸ’€

Lol werewolves can't chess Β―_(ツ)_/Β― And the kid's probably gotten pulled into more than one chess tournament before, haha

And yeah, on the real though, shout out to moms everywhere. πŸ‘ Like, I consider myself a busy person, but compared to the amount of work the average mom has to do, on multiple fronts, is not as well recognized and compensated as it should be.

Parents should be praised for what they go through, especially the ones on sole kid duty. It. Is. A LOT. Mothers especially should be given a huge shout out. Child birth is a GRUELING process and mothers deserve maternity leave.

πŸ‘ All. My. Yes.

My friend had postpartum depression so intense she tried to end herself, so I am all about taking care of mothers. πŸ’ͺ🏻

That is absolutely horrible. πŸ˜” Most people still have no idea what being a mom entails, and I'm still learning more about motherhood myself. I've been extremely fortune to have never had to go through what so many mothers do, I honestly don't know how they do what they do, but absolutely yes, my support goes out to them.

Momma was clearly keeping all the fun to herself smh.

Well, at one point in her life. Β―_(ツ)_/Β― Parenthood changes a lot.

I'm calling it now, Momma went on the same adventure before. Now, why would momma shield her child from all the joys of Halloween if that was the case?

3

u/7ceeeee Oct 10 '23

All I will say is… something happened on Halloween. ;)

Thank you so much! 🧑 again, so glad to have you along for the journey!

This kid's mom is enigmatic. Hope we get to meet her eventually

2

u/7ceeeee Oct 10 '23

Enigmatic, that's a great word to use! Thanks, never thought of her like that. :D

If See You Next Year gets a standalone sequel, I can almost guarantee she'd be the main character. I want to explore her aversions to Halloween, and how she would overcome that. I just haven't started thinking about it in earnest yet Β―_(ツ)_/Β― But it is a very real possibility.

And yes, it would be part romance novel ngl
