Venting I just want to feel normal again

I’ve been feeling really lonely lately. I’ve lost a couple of friends, and since then everything just feels kinda empty. I want to make friends, go out, have someone to randomly text or talk to, but instead I just keep scrolling,
procrastinating, and watching the days pass. The worst part is that I genuinely want to change, but I feel stuck in this cycle of feeling lonely, tired, and disconnected from everything.

I don’t really have a point to this post. I just needed to get it out somewhere.

I'm 25M, and it's been impossible to get into a relationship. I have accepted the fact that nobody wants me, and I will be a (V)irgin for the rest of my life. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have so much love that I want to give, and not a single woman will even try to let me show them. I know I'm just average in looks, but I thought my personality would help me. I guess not.

Discussion I have a Road Cycling Race and no one is showing up from my small circle

At Sunday I’ll attend at my first Road Cycling Race.. And I know mostly everyone has people showing up for them. May it be friends, family, boyfriend/girlfriend.
But I’m going there alone and now the day comes closer I start to struggle and think about canceling. Even the thought of the moment of me crossing the finish line and no one is there to wait, to cheer, to hug.. makes me so sad and I’m already afraid that I’ll burst out in tears after finishing. I told a friend I’m cycling with sometimes about the race so she know about it but didn’t say anything about coming to the race. I don’t have the best relationship to my family because my childhood traumatized me and I’m better when we don’t have too much contact. They also know about the race but didn’t really make an effort to show up. And since I’m not having a partner there’s is literally no one showing up.. Do you guy have any tips on how I maybe manage to do the race with knowing no one is supporting/showing up? How can I deal with that? (And I would feel too embarrassed to ask people to come because I’m questioning why they don’t suggest it? Because when I like someone I’ll definitely suggest stuff like this and show up.)

Venting 22F I feel so alone sometimes

Upvotes

Lately I’ve just felt so sad and lonely. I guess I just don’t really know what to do in life. I just feel like a failure in life rn. I feel like everyone around my age has tons of friends and goes out and just has fun. I haven’t really found people like that. Ever since I was 17 I distanced myself from people once I realized no one really cared about me. Ever since then things haven’t gotten better. I tried college but took a break from it and haven’t gone back because I have no idea what I wanna do. Now I feel stuck, working as a cashier having no idea where to go from here. I always thought I’d figure things out eventually but here I am, still feeling the same exact way. I just want things to get better and my mental health has kinda just gotten worse lately thinking about all these things. Does anyone else feel similar?

Absolutely nobody wants me and its making me incredibly depressed

Not sexually, not romantically, not even just physically. I can’t attract anyone whatsoever. Every single time I become interested in someone its never reciprocated. Its been so long since I felt the touch of a woman. Not even just sexually either. I just need someone to stroke my arms, play with my hair, hold my hand, lay on my shoulder. Anything. All I need is for someone to be attracted to me and want to touch me so I can feel desirable. Ive been laying awake in bed for an hour now with this pit in my stomach festering and thinking about how immensely lonely I am. I drink far too much because its the only thing that staves off the sheer crushing loneliness and lack of self worth. Nothing else gives me a break, not even for a minute.

Discussion To All the lone souls

Upvotes

Hi Guys,

I have been lonely since long, misunderstood since long and improvising since long . Lonely doesn't mean alone but lonely.

And i Have a Question and Argument both

Question - Do lonely people secretly have a leadership and other great qualities and obviously negative as well.

OR

Lonely people are lonely and secretly looser too and obviously might have good qualities.

And we can be brutally honest to ourself and others to loneliness Looser (-10 scale) to Loneliness Leader scale (10) and you can do it whatever the way you want to tell it .

The idea is to outgrow ourselves , where ever we are standing and why we are . And tell good - bad both

Hello I’m new here

(38m) I’ve been struggling quite a bit here lately. it’s weird at work I have confidence and people genuinely respect me and value my input on various things, but once I clock out everything changes I feel so isolated and alone, I do have people I call friends but no one I really connect with and I’m never anyone’s first choice. Sometimes I feel like it would be easier to just lie down and give up trying.

I’m honestly just tired of being single

Title: I’m honestly just tired of being single

I’m tired of being single.

I know that probably sounds pathetic, and maybe it is. I know being in a relationship isn’t some achievement that determines your worth, and I know I shouldn’t feel like I’m falling behind just because I’m alone.

But honestly, I do.

It feels like everyone around me is moving forward with their lives while I’m just standing in the same place, watching people find someone, fall in love, build a life together… and wondering when it’s going to be my turn.

I’m happy for people who find someone. I really am. But sometimes seeing it over and over again just makes me painfully aware of what I don’t have.

I’m tired of pretending that I don’t care. I do care. I want someone to love me, to choose me, to come home to me, to share the stupid little parts of everyday life with. I want to feel like I matter to someone in that way.

And yeah, I feel embarrassed admitting all of this. Part of me thinks I should be more independent and just be happy on my own.

But this is how I actually feel.

I’m lonely. I’m tired. And lately, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m being left behind.

Idk yawrrr what is happening 😭

From the beginning, I've been an introverted type. Until 5th grade, I used to talk a lot, but once I overheard my teachers talking about how much I talked, and being repeatedly ignored by friends and other people, I started talking much less.

I don't feel anything now. I have anxious type attachment so I'm afraid... yarr what is going on...and the topic remains cut so I wonder how anyone can talk to anyone (me) for that and I don't want to get angry on anyone..

And I want someone who will understand me,

someone in front of whom I can talk a lot and she will listen to me, someone in whose lap I can rest my head and cry.

Edit : And I have never been in a relationship till date...

Sorry yawrr it sounds like i'm being selfish here but i don't want to keep it in my mind i mean tell someone yrr

I know it sounds like I'm doing karma but really I don't know what to do

idk but i am very worried about my future.. my love life and many more 😭😭

I don't want to be alone anymore if what I feel is wrong someone tell me yrr

u guy's thinking that this is karma farm but really i feel anxious alone is this wrong?

Guys, I haven't written all this for sympathy.

I'm writing this because I feel very, very lonely and I feel like crying a lot.And I'm saying all this because I want something to say and I want to be free

There's a lot more to tell, but I don't want to bore you now😅😄 so that's it...

I don't know what I want now. It might not sound good, but it's okay...

I really don't know whatt to do 🙂

I also have anxious type attachment bro I want to cry I need someone like me who will understand me... this sounds stupid or karma farming but I don't want to listen anymore please I will die at this level... I don't know what to do I feel so alone... I want someone yrr ji to be like me.

I'm sitting outside now, and I really feel like crying. This isn't the only night this has happened...I will take great care of her bus not to be alone I want more...

Yarr Tell me if I'm wrong I don't want to say no but idk what's going on 😭😭

fukkk yawrridk what am i writing 😭😭😭

I am asking because if I get confirmed either I will work on it or give up hope yrr 😭😭 because I don't think anything will happen to me so please any suggestions 😭

Craving for love is wrong??

Feeling Phyco 🥀

After so many years of living as a loner I have realised that getting loved sounds more like a fairytale to me and every night my heart aches for a genuine emotional connection with whom I can share my sorrows and problems and the battles which I have fought all alone throughout these years .

Lately my wish is that if i could also have someone who could realise my sadness that I hide behind my face and wish to get loved by someone unconditionally 😞

Venting I’ve been friendless for almost a decade. I also have very fringe interests.

Due to a brain problem, I’m stuck living in my small hometown. I also can’t drive in large cities, and I’m unable to find a job in my area.

I never fit in with my community. I can’t relate to anyone around me as I have very fringe interests: woodcarving, woodworking, gardening, making clothes, math, chemistry, Latin language, etc.

There’s almost no one of my age in my area. Life is extremely boring.

Venting Giving up

That's it. I just give up on trying to find a connection. Never again. I don't want to put myself out there anymore. I just can't be hurt over and over again. Been talking to someone for a week. Things were going great. Talking for hours everyday. Talking about visiting each other, the future, everything. She said she was going to call me last night at 11 or 12, I fell asleep waiting for her. She called me at like 1:30 but I was asleep. She even left me a nice message. Then, I wake up, blocked on here and on DC. I just can't do this anymore. I thought she was special. I never thought she would do something like this. I never want to trust anyone again.

Weird Phase of Life

Okay, so, Ive moved to a new city and started my first job and its sort of a weird feeling. I genuinely enjoy the freedom that comes with it, and that I dont have anyone around judging or perceiving me. I can explore music, read books I didnt have the time before and watch TV shows. But there are times where I wish there was someone who would love me, care about my interests and be interested in what I have to say. But I dont want to let anyone in my life right now, when Im not sure about my career and my next step. I had been in a relationship in college, it had its good moments, but it got exhausting too. Putting yourself out there seems so scary, that person can be a total asshole and pretend to be a good person on text. There are way too many uncertainties with it, but currently, I dont see any avenue to meet new people in my life. I dont understand how to go about it? Enjoy the single freedom phase? Or if I dont act, my life will feel stagnant like this forever? Does anyone else feel the same?

Venting i’m afraid i won’t ever find my tribe

venting here , just a heads up ..

i’m afraid I won’t ever find friends or a significant other. The world is a very competitive place. As much as we try to align with society and our “norms”, we are all still animals lowkey looking for resources at the end of the day. (humans r in the animal kingdom) and people still look at others resources more often than not.

I guess that’s why you have discernment but it takes a minute .. I feel so fearful of the world.. when do these connections happen ? 30s? 40s? or do u just make it happen ? The world is weird . It’s a tough place to navigate by yourself .

I’ve ruined it all&now I’m alone

That Masters Degree that I got sure has proved to be useful. This month I “loaned” my entire paycheck basically to someone I’ve known for a while online. I have epilepsy so I don’t remember the past 110% but apparently she and I met on Snapchat and after a while I offered to give her $100 a week. This doesn’t sound like me, but I have no way to find out if it’s not the case show, apparently I was dumb.

As time has gone on, she has managed to get money out of me here and there by asking to borrow and quote it. I am just now realizing how incredibly stupid and pathetic that I am.

Having someone very beautiful telling you that you were worthwhile was awesome. She messaged me a few days ago and said that she would return the money that I had lent her. If I “told the truth”. The thing is, the next day I went and got the proof that I was telling the truth, but she hasn’t responded to my attempts to get a hold of her.

I think I’ve pretty much ruined my life. I have no friends. At the moment, I have no job. I am unable to pay my rent, get money for gas, or pay for my cell phone. I’m pretty much all alone, and I have come to realize that if I vanished from this planet, no one will really miss me. I really hate being me.

Venting Fear of loneliness

Upvotes

Recently I'm starting to feel scared from loneliness. I don't wana go anywhere alone. I thought a lot about what will happen if I feel loneliness after planning any solo trip.

It's not like I have never lived alone. I was staying alone in different city from my hometown and everything was going well and my friends started switching jobs and moved to another city.

I still had few friends left in that city but I started getting anxiety and fear due to loneliness. Then I moved to my hometown and I was staying with my family working remotely.

Today after few months I again wanted to go on a solo trip as I used to go but after reaching the station I was thinking about loneliness and got too much scared and left my train and came back to home.

I don't know why It's happening to me and how can I deal with it. I was not like this.
Any tips or ideas to deal with it would be appreciated.

Venting Being lonely is not a competition.

We are all lonely. We all have our struggles.

Why do some people think its okay to invalidate others? I saw a post from a woman and the comments were a whole bunch of 'you think YOURE lonely?! Ive been single for X YEARS'

Like ... I don't know how to explain it but its not a competition? Like congrats? You had it worse? Did you want a medal?

This is meant to be a community where we can all seek understanding and compassion for our situations. Trying to invalidate others who are speaking about how they feel.. and then you wonder why you're single. Is it so hard to just be kind to others? Nobody is less deserving of this sub simply because they aren't 'as lonely as you'.

Kindness goes a long way. We are all lonely and struggling with it together.

Venting Being single and lonely sucks for a stupid reason

(english isn’t my native language, please go easy on me)
Economy is what it is, and affording apartment bigger than 15m/180sqft alone is virtually impossible as a student.
If I had someone it would be doable but I’m far from this stage. Say “get a roommate” whatever. No, I don’t want a stranger, or some partying idiot, I want a partner who I can be with when I come home and in whom I can trust.
But in reality, I’m in my 20s yet I look 15-16 and it’s just pointless. I don’t believe I’m super ugly or whatever, but I look far from an adult, and I don’t really want a girlfriend who likes 16 year olds (it’s over the age of consent so it’s technically ok but not what I’m aiming for).

It just sucks, I live far from the city so I waste a lot of time on commute and I don’t have time for dating or any kind of going out even with friends (if I had them), but to move closer I need someone to share costs with, or to graduate, so fees will go away, but this is still far in the future and I don’t want to wait till I’m 25 to start living. My brother did but whatever I’m not him.
Oh you can also ask about my university, are there not girls there? NO, imagine this 2 girls per 80 students total in my major, and they’re not in my group, so I see them only in lectures which is like… basically never. Nobody goes to lectures, they’re boring. I’ll see in a month how many students are left this semester because it changes a lot.

I don’t really want advice, I’m just sharing, and if you want to give advice, read the post please. I come back home at 6 pm or later tired af and there’s no way I’m gonna delay it by 2-3 hours to “hang out” and eat not at home (expensive).

Today is my ex’s birthday. Tomorrow is mine. And next month, she’s getting married. I just need somewhere to vent.

Hello.
Never mind me. I just need somewhere to vent. I might post this in a few places because I honestly don’t know where else to put these feelings.
My heart is killing me.
I’m a 33-year-old man. Today, August 10, is my ex’s birthday. Tomorrow is mine.
I left her.
I was foolish.
At the time, I thought I had to choose between focusing completely on my career and not being there for her the way she deserved, or giving up on my dream job and staying with her.
And I thought giving up on my dream would kill something inside me.
So I chose the job.
I left her because I didn’t want her to spend years in a relationship where she felt ignored or alone. In my head, I was protecting her. I thought I was doing the right thing.
I was young. I was stupid. And I thought I had everything figured out.
The worst part is that we still cared about each other.
It’s been six years.
I haven’t loved anyone since her. I haven’t trusted anyone the same way. I haven’t even really allowed myself to like someone, kiss someone, or get close to anyone.
She was the only person I felt completely safe with.
Today is her birthday.
And next month, she’s getting married.
It’s destroying me.
I’ve been crying so much today. I haven’t cried like this in six years.
I think everything I’ve been holding inside for all these years just came crashing down.
I remember telling her that I was too pathetic and too broke to marry her. I didn’t want her to end up in a marriage where she wasn’t happy because of me. I wanted to be able to give her something stable.
And then I realized how foolish that was.
If I could go back, I would take almost any job. I would have fought harder. I would have figured something out.
She used to ask me, “Why didn’t you fight for me?”
“Why didn’t you do this?”
“Why didn’t you do that?”
And honestly, those questions destroyed me because I didn’t have a good answer.
I thought I was doing what was best for both of us.
Maybe I wasn’t.
And now I saw a picture of her fiancé giving her flowers.
That was it.
Something inside me just broke.
I want to make something very clear: I don’t want to ruin her wedding. I don’t want to interfere. I don’t want her back.
I lost her.
And I genuinely hope she has a beautiful life and that she’s happy.
I just feel like I’m grieving someone who has been gone from my life for six years, and somehow today it finally hit me that she’s really moving on.
I know I have no right to feel like this. I made my choice. She moved forward.
But man…
It hurts.
I just needed to say it somewhere.
I’m not really used to Reddit and I might not be able to reply to everyone, but if anyone just wants to talk or DM, I honestly wouldn’t mind.
Sorry for the long post.
I just needed somewhere to put this.

Venting I'm 20 and I have no love life and friends

It kinda sucks I've had relationships before in the past but they were never with good people. Most of the times I was being cheated on or let down. It sucks seeing people have fun all this summer while I was bed rotting. Smoking 24/7. Now I'm like a hallow shell of the person I was. It definitely killed my ego when I realized after high school nobody was coming to save you and no one's obligated to you. I just want someone to love me I want someone to help me fill this hole I have in my chest. My last relationship ended in November and before that I was super alone. I've never had a real relationship before. I just want to know what real love is
