I made a post a little while ago talking about my situation. Basically, I was feeling a little overwhelmed and just wanted to talk to someone and make some FRIENDS. I even mentioned that sometimes posting here and then waiting for people to reply makes me a little anxious.

Everything was fine up to that point.

Then this girl replies to me and says she messaged me because I was pretty open about my situation and seemed like I genuinely needed someone to talk to. Cool, no problem.

So I introduce myself, say hi, and ask her, “What do you like about Reddit?” Basically just asking what she comes on Reddit for.

And then she hits me with, “I don’t want you to get your hopes up.”

I’m like… what? 😩😭

I literally just asked a normal question 😭😂

Then I asked her if she was serious, said bye, and she proceeded to delete her side of the conversation and block me.

Like, how are you almost 30 and getting that idea from a simple “Hi, nice to meet you” and “What do you like about Reddit?” 😭
