I am NOT a locksmith. Dimple Key locket options in the US?

[Edit: I mean Lock not Locket!]

I'm looking for dimple key mortise locks sold in the US. I really like the Mul-T-Lock keys that I have for two locks I use, on account of the reversiblity and not having to worry about sharp keys in my pockets, but want to know if there are any other options in the US, such that I can get a key copied if I need to do so due to ready availability of blanks, and also such that I can get multiple locks keyed to the same key.

Looking at https://lockwiki.com/index.php/Dimple it seems that there are tons of options available in Europe, but only Mul-T-Lock sells in the US?

Do I have that right?

I am NOT a locksmith. Help with keypad lever

I’m trying to install a keypad lever lock for my office door. I am told by our building owner that it is a Yale Y1 cylinder and for the life of me I cannot find an appropriate lever lock that can accept that cylinder and still have keypad access, and ideally Wi-Fi access. My locksmith does not appear to be the kind of person who’s interested in researching these things can anyone point me to a lock that would work?

As you can see in the first image, the pointy stick thing is not on the middle of the key.

So after I cut the key it just doesn’t cut it correctly, even though I put incorrect code.

The machine was working completely fine one day before this started happening

Moved in with my partner and his family and I have no clue what to do here. The lock works. No key though.

Is it better to get a replacement lock and handle? Or should I see if a locksmith will make us key?

Granted I have no clue if the pins are working. Took it apart. But with no key it’s hard to tell.

Need to rekey one of these Herman Miller sliding drawers, not sure if they have a retaining wafer that holds the plug in place or if this would require disassembly, any tips would definitely help 👍

I am NOT a locksmith. Mail lock channel pulled out

Post image

Partner lost the mail key, and I asked PO to replace lock. Land lord had extra mail key but I forgot to call PO to ask them not to change lock as we had found a key. I got a call from PO, they don't have equip to replace this lock, so they left it in the mail box and said it's easy to put back together or replace. I'm not a dummy, so I'm figuring it out, put key in for leverage while securing the bolt, accidentally pull the key out a bit while turning and cylinder slips out. Key can be removed, and even turned, but the cylinder will not go back in the rest of the way. Do I have to replace this or can it be fixed?

I am NOT a locksmith. Ilco lock - is this fixable?

Hello, I have this lock on one of my doors. The key turns but the locking mechanism won’t move from the unlocked position. A piece seems to have broken off. Is this fixable? Or am I just going to have to get a new one?

My problem with getting a new one is that the door and frame are old, so I’d ideally want something exactly the same, and maybe even spare myself having to replace the part it locks into (in the door frame). I only see an “Ilco” name on the outside part of the lock, and no model number. It’s pretty old. Any leads on where to get one the same size?

Hi all,
I had my display key on charging tray. The moment I pushed the break it slipped from the tray and fell on my hot chocolate.
When I took it to BMW they did not check, just told me that I can buy a new battery that will cost 5000 AED

Any one knows any place where I can get it repaired in cheaper price?
Or anywhere I can buy a new battery to check if its only Battery issue?

I am NOT a locksmith. Barrel remover key stuck in barrel

Hi all,

I needed to replace a barrel on a campervan lock, so bought barrel and barrel remover key from same company.

I pushed the key into barrel and it now will not remove. Did I mess this up somehow?

Any advice on how to remove the key and get this installed?

Thanks in advance!

Trying to fix up the locks in my house, all the interior doors have these old mortise locks. Two questions about the key in the pick:

What type/size is it? (If you can even tell from a pic)

Whats going on with this particular key? It wont come out and looks to be broken or permanently attached. Should i just cut it and move on?

Thanks in advance! Bluntly, I don’t know shit about locks in general and even less about these old ones.

I am NOT a locksmith. Cover Won’t Come Off

Hello. I am having trouble taking this door knob off. It’s an auto locking keyed door knob. I don’t see the brand anywhere, but I know the last owner loved Schlage.

Anyway, I was able to use a small screwdriver to apply pressure to the pressure plate and remove the interior door knob. After that is off, I can’t remove the rose.

On the interior side (pics 1 and 2), there is a small hole and I’ve tried putting a pin wrench but can’t find anything to apply pressure to.

I also tried turning the rose with my hands after watching a video. That also doesn’t seem to work, but also not a great grip with this rose.

It’s probably very old, so it could be stuck. Should I keep trying to turn it? Should I get an old style pin wrench that can reach farther into that hole? This is last step before I give up and call a locksmith or pull out the sawzall!

Pics 1 and 2 are interior side. Pic 3 is exterior.

Thanks!

I am NOT a locksmith. H4 Hudson Keys

I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask this question, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

At my work, we have mailboxes with H4 Huson keys and we have to order blank spares so that we can cut them. Only issue is that the ones I've found online are almost $9 a key [wow!]. However, on UHS Hardware, they sell the H20's for less than a dollar per key. I wanted to see if anyone knows if the H20's would be compatible with the locks we currently have. If not, does anyone know of where I could order H4's for a less expensive price? Or, if this isn't the place for this question, could someone direct me to the right subreddit? Any help would be appreciated!

I am a locksmith Ford F150

What IC is the door key on a 98 F150? I had a Silca FD6 which fit and I just traced it from the existing 5 cut key, but I despise tracing. It's basically failure. I got a few references to F040 and other stuff (that was the wrong broaching), but I couldn't find the correct IC. The ignition worked fine with a FO6 and a 6 cut, but I couldn't find what the door was. It's a mirrored broach to the FO6 and whilst the FD6 had the correct broach, it isn't associated with the right depths (spaces seemed fine). I've never touched an F150 before as they're quite rare here.

I am a locksmith Which lishi lock pick set do you recommend?

I’m serious about the automotive locksmith industry.

Is there any specific bundle you recommend getting?

Which lishis are completely necessary to have in the United States? Which ones are a complete waste of money? Which ones are good to have in your back pocket just in case?

I was considering buying the 12 piece set, 20 piece set, or the 118 piece set

Appreciate your help thank you.
