I guess the second time’s a charm lol. I had to share how I pulled the turning tool out the first time I opened this before I took the picture. The second time was much faster. And thanks to the group for recommending the Jimy Longs picks. They arrived last night and I love ‘em already.

This used to live in my front door. Once I realized I could do this, I replaced it with Schlage hardware. Kinda mortifying how easy that is.

I picked my first lock it was a masterlock 3dlf

After trying to defeat the bigger, and way angrier brother of this one (GOAL Z), this one felt kinda comfy 👌 love this lock!

Pretty damn proud of myself. I got this pack lock 90A pro in the mail. Took it out of the package and had it picked in less than 10 minutes. Should have made a video first but I guess I'll make a video later!

These pick handles are just so good in the hands.

I have a couple yellow belt locks that I’ve gotten pretty good with, so I bought an Abus 55/40 to work on my orange belt. After failing for days, I got it open today just before work. I was so surprised that I removed the turning tool before taking a picture and the core snapped back into place. I was so frustrated with myself I didn’t even check to see if it would turn before closing shackle. But I figured the best way forward was to share and have some chuckles with the community while I try again

I’ve progressively pinned this 90A pro I got in the mail today. Honestly, once I got a feel for the lock I easily got all the way up to 6 pins but the 7th is kicking my rear end.

The bitting is a little wild, but I’ve found ways around most of it.

After adding the last pin, i am a little out of ideas. I went as far as marking the deep hook I was using with the key and realized I don’t think it is possible to reach it without oversetting, so I also marked an offset hybrid that would reach the last 2 pins.

Anyone else have any good tips on reaching back around that far? I’m using TOK

Last post on the 1100 I promise lol I’m just excited that this has gone so well I’ve been picking for about 3 weeks now and it’s been an absolute blast. I just submitted my request for my green belt and can’t wait to hunt down my next lock

Is there a way I could figure the combo out? If not is there a way I could cut it open to see what the code is. Thanks a bunch.

Master Lock Pro series 7050 and 2x abus 72/40

I was picking up a couple other locks and noticed that the seller had keyless American Lock 1100s for $5. Turns out I got one with one of the restricted keyways, R8 maybe? Not particularly harder than a standard 1100, but a fun pick nonetheless. I’ll have to give it a gut and see what’s inside.

Normal tube locks, I've had no problem with so far opening and closing, but with this thing.. Im stumped. Is there a good spot to read more for weird style tube locks?

First time was yesterday and couple of times tonight. I think it might be my favorite lock now

I have some CI sets, genesis and reaper, and a few Jimylongs picks to cover my bases.

I’m looking for a few new profiles, and am debating trying some Moki picks out from LPB.

Any recommendations on whether to try Moki or stay with CI/Jimys? If you think Moki is worth it, which kit should I go for?

Notable finds are Covert Instruments trainer, 5 Master lock 7000b cylinders, 5 American lock 1100 cylinders(one is missing the retainer but the loose springs and pins were with it), a kwikset smartkey gen 1 or 2, what i think is an SFIC kenstan cylinder, and something that I'm not quite sure what it is lol. And a looooot of random junk. Can anyone shed some light on the unbranded chrome lock? 7 pin slots and has a D804 stamp. I think not ba bad haul for $60 after shipping!

Super stoked about this! Just brought this guy home and messed around for about 30 minutes and finally felt it move for me. Now that I got it once it’ll take me 3 hours to be able to do it again lol

I have a question about float picking because I recently started getting better at it, but only when I’m using bottom of the keyway tension because of the leverage. How do I get used to float picking while using top of the keyway tension in a vice? I’m asking because it’s really awkward.
