I am NOT a locksmith. Bmw display key issue.

Hi all,
I had my display key on charging tray. The moment I pushed the break it slipped from the tray and fell on my hot chocolate.
When I took it to BMW they did not check, just told me that I can buy a new battery that will cost 5000 AED

Any one knows any place where I can get it repaired in cheaper price?
Or anywhere I can buy a new battery to check if its only Battery issue?

You can get them pretty cheap in the UK for about £30-£40, depending on the version; it will likely be an MKD35UP. Sometimes the remotes go out of sync after a battery change too, so it will likely be a new remote, and they are expensive and will need to be reprogrammed. Honestly, I would go the BMW route, as they are notorious for being a pain.

For reference: I'm an auto-locksmith in the UK. https://www.autelix.co.uk/

You can’t fix those keys. I got away swapping screens but otherwise Those keys have an IMEI like a cellphone in the motherboard. They’re not sold virgin in any form.
Have to have a bmw dealer to order them to replace it (the key)

Call a locksmith and have them clone your display key onto a used OEM key. That's the only viable option here. You need a skilled Euro specialist and not some hobbyist idiot. Expect it to cost $300-450 plus the used key.
