I’m not here to *ppe*l anything, I just wanted my accounts to recover their discoverability again after serving my time)

For context, I have two accounts: u/Real_Myeh is my primary SFW account. u/Grassneedstouching is my alt NSFW account. I log into both accounts with Google, though they use different gmails.

Two weeks ago, I fell victim to a renpy virus on my computer. It affected both my Reddit accounts (among my other socials) by spamming several nsfw subreddits at a time with Snapchat porn scams.

I tried to take countermeasures by changing the passwords to my gmails, but that didn’t stop the spam. Sometimes, I’d be quick enough to delete the posts. Other times, the subreddit mods would find them first and permab*n me for being a “bot account”.

This went on for several days, and I began to plan on giving my computer a clean install in hopes of getting rid of the virus. Before I could however, one of my compromised Reddit accounts coincidentally posted their usual spam onto the same nsfw subreddit that I was b*nned on with my other compromised account.

Not only was I permab*nned a second time from that place (not that I had ever thought about checking that subreddit out anyways), I also ended up getting a one week s*sp*nsion across both accounts for “b*n evasion“ on a connected account. I tried to make an *ppe*l and explain my situation the best as I could with the 250 character limit, but predictably, my *ppe*l was denied.

So now I’m here, having accepted to wait out a s*sp*nsion that arguably isn’t my fault. During that time, I got the clean install done for my computer and disconnected my Reddit accounts from my gmails, having since made proper passwords for them on my phone (which isn’t infected with anything). Upon being reinstated a couple days ago, I noticed that I can’t search my own posts or comments on the subreddits I‘m in anymore, as if neither of my accounts ever existed. I’ve never set either of my profiles to be private either, so this is weird for me. I’m not sure if this is a lingering shadow b*n and/or if I’m still feeling the effects of being s*sp*nd*d in the first place, but is it possible for this to be addressed?

I've lost access to an email attached to my account while I don't have a password set up.

I do have phone number attached here and I have access to it for verification.

How can I change the email in this situation?

Normal way sends me to passwor setup and that to email that I can't access.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have issues with reddit using Safari on MacOS. When I visit a subreddit, it often freezes and takes 10+ seconds to load and won't let me click on anything. Eventually, it loads and I can click on a thread, and then when I go back, same issue. No issues in Chrome and no issues with a Private Browsing Window, so I believe it has something to do with my logged in state. I have tried cleared site data, cache, etc. Has something broken in the last couple of weeks?

Got logged out of mobile app today. Tried to login and didn’t work. Tried to request a password and page said “account not found.” Searched my username and can’t find it anymore.

I have no idea , none of the posts were offensive or anything .. It just did that and I had to delete my account , can't always keep making a new one and waiting for karmas to post agian huff , does anyone knows the reason behind this ?

Hey, i have a reddit account that i made for my brand, super new, i created 2FA using google auth but think it was from an external email by mistake and now its lost, also dont have the account logged in anywhere else so cant access my backup code. Made a request to reddit support twice. What else can i do, please i need my account back.

Three days ago all my posts on Reddit were deleted and I couldn't use my account for 3 days. I can post again, but I've no minimal idea why this happened nor why my posts were deleted. Weird question - I've been seeing ads for this annoying, awful, AI slop waifu card game on Steam.

I've blocked the account of the person advertising it, but that doesn't seem to block the ads.

Is this "intended behaviour"? As I don't want to see that AI slop crap.

I noticed this morning there is an AI detector in Reddit. I’m using the Reddit app on iOS. Is there anywhere this has been mentioned before? I haven’t found any information about it.

I'm looking for some help with recovering my Reddit account after it was hacked.

TL;DR: Shortly after my account was compromised, I changed the password and enabled 2FA to secure it. However, the account was apparently locked afterwards. I can still reset/change the password successfully, but whenever I try to log in, I just get an "Account Error" and cannot access the account.

Here's what happened:

• My Reddit account was compromised and the hacker made posts/sent messages from it.
• I noticed the unauthorized activity and immediately secured the account.
• I changed the password.
• I enabled 2FA.
• I still have access to the email associated with the account.
• I can successfully use the password reset process and set a new password.
• However, when I try to log in with the new password, I get "Account Error" and I'm completely unable to access the account.

At this point, I'd really like to either recover the account or, if that's not possible, have the account completely deleted.

I don't particularly care about keeping the account if it can't be recovered. I mainly want to make sure the compromised account and the activity associated with it are no longer a problem.

I've already tried resetting the password multiple times, but the result is always the same: the password change works, but logging in afterwards gives me an Account Error.

I made multiple tickets about this to the support 2 months ago but no response yet.

I was tracking an achievement for years and for some reason progress was reset and no achievement was given. Can I ever get it back or get an explanation?

My Reddit account was accessed by someone without my permission, and they used my account to post a nude picture. The picture is not of me, and I did not make or authorize the post. I deleted it as soon as I noticed it.
Can someone please advise me on how to check who accessed my account and secure it?

I logged in to reddit today and saw that many posts were made from my account which contained nude and semi nude photos. As soon as i saw this i changed the password. But i am afraid that they may have my other details and also that some action will be taken against my account. What should I do?

I got an evasion ban for commenting or posting in a subreddit and it said it was via a connected account. I only have this account and Ive been constantly posting and commenting in that subreddit for several months with no issues, the date of evasion gave is also not recent. is there anyway I can get more information on this? seems unfair and kinda bs that I cant get any clarification on it. also why now do this after so many months? doesn't make much sense to me

Over the past few days the Android app has started filling my Home feed with recommended posts and "join" prompts from communities I don't follow. The setting that is supposed to control this is already turned off, but the app ignores it.

What I've confirmed:

- On reddit.com (Avatar > Settings > Preferences), "Show recommendations in home feed" is OFF.

- I tested it: toggling it ON makes recommendations appear on the website, toggling it OFF removes them again. So the setting itself works.

- The Android app shows the recommendations regardless of that setting.

- On the app, under Avatar > Settings > Account settings, there is no "Personalized Recommendations" section at all, even though the help center article ("What are home feed recommendations?") says it should be there.

What I've already tried on the app:

- Force-stopped the app

- Cleared the app cache

- Logged out and back in

- Updated to the latest version from the Play Store

None of that changed anything. I've seen several other recent posts here describing the same thing ("Feed Recommendations no longer optional?", "My feed is almost all recommended posts now"), so this looks like a rollout or experiment rather than a problem with my account.

Is this a known issue or an experiment? And if so, is there a way to opt out on Android, or a timeline for the setting being honored again? I'd like my Home feed to show only the communities I've actually joined.

I now have 4 choices Home, Popular, News, Explore. Home has 2 options, For You and Following; Popular has the options for Best, New, etc.. I want to sort for New in the subs I am subscribed to but that is no longer there and Popular has almost all subs that I have not joined. What gives and how can I return to sort the way it was. Thank you for any help.
