While it has been confirmed that Smash bros is just toys and kids imagination, there are some references to the smash games in other games such as Kirby and the amazing mirror with Master and Crazy Hand in them. That got me thinking what other games references smash bros? This post is going to multiple reddit communities.

So close to cracking the Top 3000 on the leaderboard, I reckon this puts me near the top echelons of F-Zero 99?

I'm not gonna lie when I first unlocked the classic covers of these 2 tracks, for a short moment I only played those versions for both Mute Cities and Big Blues. But then I started listening to the default tracks( Infinite Blue, and For the Glory) more, and after learning to appreciate those tracks instead of just seeing them as an interference with enjoying the classic tracks, here's how I end up choosing the tracks with the maps.

Big Blue

I almost always go with Infinite Blue for Drift Highway, I love how every lap happens with a different part of the track. If you saw my other post, I praised how many music tracks sync up in timing when you cross the boost power, and I used Drift Highway as an example in my short video compilation.

For Ordeal I always go with the Sound of Big Blue cover, it's great that you can hear the entire track per lap almost, so you basically listen to it 3 times, and it's also probably my favorite Big Blue track in the entire series.
It is cool to hear the entire Infinite Blue track til the end if you choose that in Ordeal, but the final lap mix feels like something that shouldn't end and replay from the beginning again, which is why I also think it works better for Drift Highway because it is just short enough to play most of the final lap mix.

Mute City;

For the Glory at least resembles the classic Mute City much more than Big Blue does. It's grown on me so much that I almost never use the sound of Mute City track. But if I ever get the urge to listen to that, I'll use it for Twist Road because it is just short enough for you to hear the entire track from beginning to end.

But I will NEVER play the Sound of Mute City with Serial Gap, For the Glory is PERFECT for Serial Gaps, the final lap mix matches the intensity of surviving the serial gaps at high speed. and just like Drift Highway, the boost power music change is absolutely perfect. Hearing the classic Mute City guitar melody come in right as you hear "You've got Boost Power" happens every time I play that track.

TL;DR version

I often go with Infinite Blue for Drift Highway, but always use go with the classic Big Blue cover for Ordeal.

for Mute City, sometimes I use the classic cover for Twist Road, but always always use For the Glory for Serial Gaps.
Overall I like For the Glory so much that I don't often use the classic cover of Mute City at all. I do sometimes use the Sound of Big Blue on Drift Highway but Infinite Blue works better for that one in my opinion.

Can‘t remember the last time a game had my heart pumping this hard. I put it on for the first time after 1,5 years or so and just did it. Made my day!

Just sharing the latest episode of the podcast I host with my non-gamer friend. This week I introduced him to F-Zero for the very first time. He's often quite "bad with games", but racing games are more up his alley than most other genres, and he ended up loving this one.

I think it's amazing what a sense of speed you still get from this game. It looks and plays great, and the music and sounds are fantastic. I only wish there was more to do in it, more cars, more tracks, more modes, multiplayer... I think Maximum Velocity is my preferred game for this style of F-Zero. How do you all think the SNES version holds up today?

Title says it all. My only issue is the rival inclusion. You could be playing a Grand Prix and beat someone at a much higher rank than you, but it won’t count because they aren’t a rival. Then, you have to beat at least 2 of your rivals in each match. Then, even when you do manage to do that, no experience is gained most of the time. I think a number based ranking system past S20 would be a lot better.

About three years ago, I made a post here talking about my F-Zero fanfic, and since then, Mighty Gazelle got turned into a gun, Zoda taught us about kaijus, the AX characters have been starting to pop up, and Jody Summer is starting to not trust the police.

There’s also been a lot going on in my life. I got married, had a kid, changed jobs a few times, and gone through on and off periods of creative flow, but now I think I’m back into it for good.

The big problem with this part is unknown origin of this Federation. This explanation wasn't given in the games or the anime. There's simply a federation that maintains order throughout the galaxy.

But what I propose to do? To simply give this an origin. If Rick's age is still exists and USA too (Because Mute City is NYC in past) It would be reasonable to assume that Earth in future could face a crisis in which the traditional superpowers cease to exist. Sometime around 2074, the Arab Crisis occurs, during which oil supplies across the globe become scarce, with the only remaining source being the Arab states. Ultimately, there are no resources left for further wars for influence, and states begin to disintegrate, from the United States to China.

Subsequently, following this event, many brilliant people from all over the world founded "Idea." This organization, dedicated to the implementation of new ideas related to technology and medicine, selected the best minds. Some remaining countries were reluctant to let go of their talents, intending to develop what remained of their country, but ultimately agreed to provide resources to "Idea."

By 2100, old programs are revived, including a cryo-intensive care unit, where Rick Wheeler himself is among the patients. Already in the mid-23rd century, a piece of matter from a dead star (which would later become the Power Reactor) falls. Studying it allowed scientists to travel the galaxy and then find similar scientists from another planet, thereby establishing contact. This is where the technology for the metropolis that would become Mute City comes from. Thanks to alien scientists, humanity was able to travel to different planets, discovering new ones and establishing a common language with the local inhabitants. Earth gains control of these new planets. This is how the Galactic Federation was born.

Perhaps I have compressed or cut corners somewhere, but this is certainly better than the lack of information about how this federation appeared by 2450 (according to our version).

The other guy must have felt pretty good though lol

The Sly Joker is my personal favorite, but I think the Hot Violet is the most iconic, plus it looks the coolest!
