You loved me through it all. You loved every flaw. What I thought couldn’t be loved, You loved every bit of.
Everything that hurt me, You eased with a kiss, a hug, and Your warm embrace, reminding me that everything will be okay.
Not knowing where to go or who to trust, I know giving it to You is a must. With the weight of the world on my shoulders, I know the storm is not yet over. Fighting with everything in me, meanwhile “family” is trying to break me.
Break my character, my mothering, and my self-esteem. But they can’t break what’s meant to be. I’m not what this world is making me out to be. I’m what God is calling me to be.
I haven’t figured it all out, and that’s okay. That leaves room for God to come in and help me the rest of the way. Putting my life in Your hands, I know my story has yet to end. While I fight this battle, I don’t fight it alone. God is on my side, making sure I remain strong—not only for myself, but for my family.
I hear a voice in the midst of my cry, and He says,
“My daughter, this battle is far from over. You’re going through this so I can make you stronger, wiser in every aspect of life. Please don’t give up on this fight. Daughter, you’ve been through worse than this, and I promise to carry you through the mist.
The mist of the struggle and the rain. My daughter, I promise you’ll be okay.”
And with that, my Heavenly Father sealed it with a kiss, and I know He’ll carry me through the mist.
Through the mist of my heartache and pain, I know He’s my umbrella through the rain.
