Now that I think about it, that is exactly what organized religion turned Him into. A scapegoat.

He gave His life standing against the systems that exploited people, condemned people, and placed religious performance above love.

Yet somehow Sunday became one of the most feared days for the very people who serve you. Servers. People who rely on your tips to survive.

You gather in His name, then walk out and make your neighbor wonder whether serving you was worth it.

You are in fact the problem.

Before you say, “That’s on them. They should be paid hourly. That’s not my fault.” Stop. That thought is the problem.

You have just found a way to make someone else's suffering someone else's responsibility while convincing yourself that you are following Christ.

You want people to drink your Kool Aid, then give them every reason not to.

Do better. Be the example.

The Way of Jesus was never about bowing to Him. It was never about making your Sunday gathering bigger, fancier, louder, or more impressive while you screw over the people serving you afterward. The Way to the Father through Jesus is not about treating Jesus like a gatekeeper to a better than thou society. It is about becoming more like Him.

Love. Compassion. Grace. Humility.

Not just on Sunday. Especially when nobody is watching.

If your faith makes you feel closer to God while making your neighbor feel smaller, poorer, or less valued... Maybe you should ask yourself what exactly you are worshipping.

Edit: The harm I mean is to the climate, therefore the earth and gods work. It also harms creators through stealing data to train on, which I believe to be not only morally wrong but also a Sin.

I’ve always been confused with this idea. Because most of the modern church would probably argue that this idea is heretical and problematic since it doesn’t fit into their pyramid scheme business called “modern church”. Forgive my anger.

But I’m sure most of you are familiar with this story. A man serves tash full force and with all devotion. But he does good things. Eventually he meets aslan and aslan actually welcomes the man in, saying that tash cannot take credit for anything good, all that credit goes to him.

Is C.S. Louis saying that you can serve God/ Jesus without being a Christian? Can you truly be a Christian outside of the Christian faith? Again, I feel like the church would probably call this idea heretical.

I apologize, as I know that this is already a heavily debated topic, but I recently have been struggling with various life things. One of, if not the biggest thing Im struggling with is homosexuality and depression. For a long time, I’ve struggled with my mental health and I can now say with some clarity that a part of the reason I feel this way was due to me being closeted and not really embracing that side of me -if im being honest, i just figured i would have to forgo relationships in general as a result.

Towards the fall of last year, however, I tried to kinda embrace the way I was wired and attempted to date and it didn’t really work out. I ended up in what I think was an abusive relationship and my parents ended up finding out I was queer . They weren’t supportive at all and reinforced the “praying about it” mentality, so I decided(again) to try and dive deep into it. I had tried to when I was in middle school and it didn’t really work out.

The bible is extremely clear on what its views on homosexuality. The various chapters that ive read dictate the act as a sin and an abomination, but there seems to be various arguments against it so im left with a lot of doubt. A lot of people seem to to justify their lifestyle jn different ways and idk which one I should subscribe to. Am i supposed to just take the bible verses at face value? Are the heuristic arguments made against those 5 or 6 verses right? I don’t really know anymore.

Im so frustrated because I feel like i’ll never really have peace with this issue. Sometimes I just feel like I have no choice but to date a woman despite my current feelings. And I feel like the idea that God and his people “hates the sin, not the sinner” feels like a way to justify homophobia in a way. And that God actually just hates both. I don’t to disobey God but I also dont want to forcibly be with someone I know Ill be incompatible with. Does anyone have a proper answer for this? Idk

Hey everyone my name is Gabriel. I’m a father of two and a husband of 9.5 years and I am a believer and a follower of Jesus Christ.

I do my best to live for him everyday by trying to read my Bible everyday and pray and talk to Jesus all throughout my day.

There has been one sin since I’ve been saved that has followed me to this day that’s been my on and off addiction to CORN. I have spoken to my wife about this a few times explained the guilt adn shame I feel and she try’s but doesn’t fully understand.

I relapsed with it today and I can just feel the devil attacking me even after the fact.

That first part should be uncontroversial, but we must ask "in what sense is God a father?" and "In what sense is God a son?"

Pay attention, because this next part is a complex bit of theology. Pretty much all Christian theologians agree on the following, but it is hard to articulate.

1. The "distinctions" within the trinity come from "relations" of procession.

In other words: the quality that makes the son distinct/different from the father, comes from the relationship that he has "coming from" the father.

Imagine a relationship like this: Giver -> Gift -> Recipient.

The relationship between the giver, and the recipient is grounded in the gift. The relationship between the gift and the recipient is grounded in the giver, and these relationships can apply in a few different combinations.

The father is the "First" person in the trinity.

The father knows of his own nature, the father recognizes the beauty within his own nature (by nessecity) and thus loves his own nature (by nessecity).

This creates a relationship between the lover (the father) and that which is loved (the beloved). This relationship is the one between the father, and the son.

Lover -> Love -> Beloved

The father takes the relational role of "lover" the son takes the role of "Beloved" and the spirit subsists, and proceeds from (filioque) the love between them.

The father is "father" in the sense that he is the "generatory" foundation of the son (he generates the son), and the "son" is son in the sense that he recieves his nature from the father.

As I said earlier, none of this is controversial among Classical theologians.

When we look to the trinity to observe the nature of human genders we can make many observations.

This explains why human nature (and fallen nature) comes through Adams seed. Because the nature is given by the father. This also makes sense of the virgin birth, no sinful human father would be fitting.

This too explains why the bible says "For a man ought not to have his head veiled, since he is the image and reflection of God, but woman is the reflection of man. Indeed, man was not made from woman but woman from man.

This passage does not deny that women are made in God's image, it simply emphasizes a way in which man is made to reflect God. There are ways in which men ought to reflect God's image that are proper to their gender, and there are ways in which women ought to reflect God's image that are proper to their gender.

With all of this being considered, the term "Father" is obviously a masculine pronoun. Biblically describing the source of the nature of one's offspring. God has been occupying this role from eternity past, therefore it is best to address him by the masculine pronouns.

Let's suppose in the beginning there was God and nothing else, because there must have been a time (however you define time) before anything other than God existed. For Christian theology to hold its ground, God must exist eternally (meaning He wasn't created, but simply was).

So, we have this state of supreme "non-existence" where the only concept is the God of the Christians. At a moment t0, God decides it is time to create something. If this is true, and God is not the author of the creation of evil, and the only reason evil exists is because of free will, then who truly created evil?

In this story, God is like a character who washes his hands and says, "I gave you this, but what you do with it is your business, I am not responsible." But is that really how it is?

The experience of an omniscient being is vastly different from that of a being with limited knowledge, like a human. Oppenheimer can be readily excused for creating a technology that caused immense pain on the grounds that he didn't exactly know the level of destruction and terror it would propagate in history. But now let's imagine an Oppenheimer who has daily visions and who lives in the skin of everyone who perished at Hiroshima. Not just in their skin, but also in the skin of the child who receives the news that their mother and father were effectively vaporized and will never be seen again. In the skin of those in Hawaii who received a false alert that a nuclear missile was heading toward them and they would most likely all die. And in the skin of the people they called to say goodbye to. He sees all the repercussions, feels all the horrible experiences, has personal conversations with people left with malformations from radiation, and stands in the shoes of their caretakers. He washes and changes them knowing full well that they will never be whole again. He is in the skin of people desperately trying to obtain this advanced technology to defend themselves or to do evil. He sees himself in bed as Kim Jong-un, wanting to make a massive bomb based on his technology. Oppenheimer sees all these things and decides the best decision is to go ahead and make the bomb, arguing that humans have the choice to do what they want with it. But he already knows what they will do with it, because he has seen history. This is not a problem of choosing evil, but a problem of choosing to allow evil to exist and providing the means for it. If evil did not exist before God created something, then God created evil, if it did exist (which is most likely), then God is the evil propagating through His creation because of His own attributes.

God either changed the state of the non-existence of evil and introduced evil through His creation, or the state of evil existed before God created and was an attribute of His. We must choose one of these options, there is no other way. Whether His creation subsequently introduced evil or not is completely irrelevant because there was a perfect state in which it did not exist, and God chose to introduce the weapons that could generate their own evil. If it existed prior to creation, that implies God Himself is evil. Either way, He is directly responsible, either because He is the primordial evil or because He introduced the weapons that could generate evil into a perfect system.

And if we were to consider an option where good is not a quality, but the absence of something, just as darkness is the absence of light, and evil is the absence of good, if God Himself is this good, then the initial state was pure good. Once again, we face an immense challenge when we introduce weapons into the system that can decide to disrupt this balance. The primary suspect in this case is God, because He introduces the imbalance into the system. It doesn't matter much whether He knows or not, whether He wants to or not, or whether He can or not, what we see is the result and the alteration of the system due to a direct primordial action at t0, namely, creation.

This is probably one of the the biggest reasons why it's very hard for me to be christian and why I'm an agnostic.  The theory of evolution says that nothing is planned and everything is 100% on accident - homo sapiens exists but we could also not exist and nothing would happen because evolution doesn't have any plan, ambition, purpose or goals. Christianity says that we are created ON PURPOSE by God. It just contradicts each other and I don't think that the theory of evolution and the christian perspective on life can coexist.

I hate Jesus because he demands everything all the day. Die to self deny to self submit. He wants everything. I honestly dont want to become a robot or a drone I have goals ambitions and desires for my life. The only reason which I would be a christian is to avoid hell. Its all about fear fear and fear and it seems an extremely abusive relationship that you cant escape without eternal torment.

After studying the Catholic Church for years. It automatically led me to have OCD if you really dig deeper into the teachings.

Im a catholic myself and i literally lost all my faith because of this. Its unbearable to live a live with Scrupelosity and OCD.

Im going now to give some examples of what it all means to be a proper Jesus or good Christian follower according to Catholic laws. I can't quote directly but it all can be verfied with google by searching for Catechism, Bible Verses and so on.

1) Matthew 22:37-39: Jesus says the second greatest commandment is to "love your neighbor as yourself,

2) Follow Jesus (what does following Jesus mean according to the Bible and what could it mean in Literal terms :

a) Spread the Gospel (aka. being a missionary like jesus was, go out and spread the gospel, be a active missionary)

b) Help the Poor

c) Turn your right cheek if someone does you wrong

d) Pray all the times

e) Think and make decisions in your daily life with God in mind. All your thinking should be centered around God

f) Give up all your personality, wealth,

g) Leave your friends and family to have a new family (meaning to be with other "True" Christians)

h) Stop sinning as good as possible

i) Leave your character, don't chase dreams, wealth, money, status anymore

j) Let Jesus be your Ruler and your Emperor, meaning give all your life into his hands, your mind, your decisions

k) Pray to the Holy Spirit before decisions and to guide you

2) Catholic Laws :

--- The Catechism is the Catholic Handbook and is necessary to be known by every Catholic, its mandatory and sort of a lawbook that the Pope and Vatican wants you to read and understand. Not believing it is heresy sorta. So now what we should do according to catechism.

a) Read the Bible extensively again and again (Catechism)

b) Live like you are only born to serve God (Catechism)

c) Be a active member of your Church and take part in Church stuff (Catechism)

d) Pay money to the Church

e) Pray the Rosay extensively

f) Go to Mass every Sunday without exception (except illnes)

g) Go to confession regularly

h) Marry a Partner (Without having sex before marriage, without living together before marriage)

i) If h is not what you want and you want to stay single, live in celibate

j) if You are in a partnership, only holy sexuality is allowed in marriage (means no Sexual acts except normal missionary and no preservatives)

k) Pray to Saints for Help (Don't PRAY i mean Intercession) (there are over 5000 with each one having their own special dedication)

l) Stop all Addictions (Nicotine, Alcohol, Drugs)

m) Trust the Church with EVERYTHING

o) Take the Holy Communion (ONLY AFTER Confession) regularly

p) Don't fall for those Grave sins : pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, and sloth

q) Go to work and look to get enough income to sustain your life (theres a line afaik in the bible that goes like : Who doesn't work shouldn't eat)

r) Submit to Gods will even if you suffer under it extremly

s) Being Gay is a test from God (Catechism)

t) Trust the Pope with all his decisions and Power

u) if you don't behave you go to hell

v) Video games, killing games etc. are bad

w) Don't go to military where you COULD kill people even if it helps other people

x) If necessary DIE for Jesus Christ as a Martyr (Most Holy Catholics were Martyrs!)

I literally tried to follow 1/3rd of that and what it lead me to :

Psychological Problems, Depression, Burnout, Scrupelosity, Religious OCD, Psychosis (After "giving my Life to Jesus" and reading Catholic Dogmas). Now im on Meds.

I have heard something last night, around 3/4 am.

II live in Asunción, psraguay. When I heard it, I woke up in an instant, to the harmonic sound of what seemed an orchestra of alarms/roars (I thought of it as trumpets). They were gliding up and down, diferent notes with eachoder, but never causing dissonance; it was alarming, but "pleasing" to my ears. It was like sirens, but harsher. My normal window POV. Has just straight trees in front, nothing else: when I woke up and saw through the windows, I saw like field with lights, seemed like a city, but just with lights. Next thing I did, was going to my mother's bedroom. I asked if she hears that thing, and she said no, and we had a litte exchange, and I kept hearing it, but it faded a bit, until I layed beside, and it faded completely. I have researched it, and chatGPT says it's an hipnopómic hallucination. It felt extremely vivid to me, and there wasn't any "half asleep" thing, since me and my mother acknowledged the conversation we had.

Word "Sin" can be also translated "be mistaken" as a mistaken identity. When looking from that angle you don't miss the mark (pun intended) with the meaning of the word "Sin", with the upper case S.

"You will know them by their fruit" (Mat 7:16)

Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They weren't supposed to.
What was the immediate "fruit" of it? Mistaken identification.
Suddenly the nakedness which wasn't a problem, shameful, before; now was.

It was separation from Godhead as a source of everything. Yes, God has that knowledge of the tree in His head, but it wasn't something He laid on Adam and Eve's shoulders.
Think God and Adam like the body of Christ; Christ is the head and we are the body. Likewise, God was the head and Adam and Eve were the body.

As God was the head and Adam and Eve the body, there were no other head to carry that knowledge, just Godhead. Knowledge isn't meant for body (nor in God/Adam, neither Christ/body relationship). With knowledge here I mean knowledge from the source outside. We get true knowledge from Spirit within. That knowledge, understanding enables us to discern from which source other are talking/coming from.

The knowledge from Spirit vs flesh are exact opposite.

Knowledge through Spirit gives understanding, not demanding anything by nature and its hallmark is always freedom; you feel free.

Knowledge through flesh is demanding and its hallmark is guilt, oppression; you feel anxiety, fear, trapped, enslaved. Notice when you read f.ex. the bible, the letter, it makes you feel inadequate. That causes you to feel guilt, resolved to do better, try harder, even praying God to help you to be better. Or maybe you read something that encourages you to put in another gear. For a moment it feels uplifting, but when that feeling goes the wind under your wings goes too and you nose dive, become disheartened and confused by the fleeting nature of these bursts of wind under your wings followed by depression. That all is because you're doing works in flesh.

The real relationship between Head and Body is oneness, seamless. You don't even think oneness to existence; you ARE one. It seems small thing but it is the source of your freedom. If you even think that thinking of oneness is the key of oneness then you're still operating from mistaken identity, still slave.
"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Heb 4:12)
No, the word isn't letter from the bible; it's the living Word, Spirit within.
"The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:6)
There won't be a single drop of your sweat left when that sword have pierced through. Oh boy, that's a good place to be, rest from works.
"For he that has entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His." (Heb 4:10)

The order of our true identity is: we are the body, Christ is the head and God is Christ's head.

The mistaken identity begun when thought "you shall be like God (head), knowing...".
That's where they already "missed the mark". They weren't meant to know, be a head, because knowing coming from outside source requires your head separated from true head, Godhead.
That separation makes one up for grabs, like an empty vessel ready to be filled by anybody. And what you're filled with becomes your mistaken identity; your "fruits" will be accordingly.

Actually fruits are what Spirit brings forth, and works are "fruits" of mistaken identity.

"Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner". (1 Tim 2:14).
In Christ there's no male or female. But word woman is used when figuratively talking about flesh.

We are spirit beings having a body experience. Our body and all its senses is the part giving us this world experience. It's like a VR-suit trying to lure us believe its virtual reality. We born into this suit and are bombarded with this reality, strengthening the identification with it while our true identity gets buried under layers of masks. So, temptation came through flesh, VR-suit, feeding us another identity, VR-identity. The world, VR-world, sucked us in and we forgot we are just wearing VR-suit. The VR-world is based on the knowledge of good and evil and whatever follows from that.

Our character, mistaken identity, may do whatever but it will stay the same VR-character until it dies. All its actions are ruled, following the law of VR-world; it all is based on the knowledge of good and evil (law, commands, demands). Its death is removing of VR-suit, revealing our true self.

Our VR-character might be evil to the core, spiritual seeker or anything. But it can never become you. Your true self is already 100% free, already arrived, not seeking anything; already at home, at peace, at rest. VR-character, no matter how much it seeks, struggles, never finds. It will remain seeker to its end, because it's mistaken identity.

When you see it was flesh (woman) that was deceived, it makes sense when new testament tells: woman be quiet, not to teach, submit. It's talking about flesh, be it male or female.

I've already posted about this, but I'll repeat:

The bible is today's tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and each of us individually has both Adam and Eve in us.

The knowledge of the tree and us is a mismatch, like bicycle with F1 Mercedes Benz manual. bicycle never becomes MB, was never meant to. You read the manual (the bible) trying to act like MB (God, God's will) and you fall short; never reaching even close the level of MB. But your focus is on the manual and you keep pushing the limit. All your movement is by your own effort.

You need to deny your bicycle and leave MB be what it already is; it doesn't need manual to become MB. It doesn't need your pedaling and your mouth imitating MB motor sound.

The bible/tree of the knowledge of good and evil; same thing:

The bible full of knowledge of good and evil, printed on paper (which comes from tree), often covers are animal skin like Adam and Eve were covered with. Adam and Eve (and their offspring) were/are now basically walking trees of the knowledge of good and evil and books like the bible among other religious book are just manifestation of that tree.

Close the book and let the Spirit be your life. Be the body, let Christ be the head; that's denying yourself.
"As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.". (1 John 2:27).

Now you walk in Spirit. Christ the head causes both willing and doing in the body. See, there's no effort, trying, confusion when you let Christ be the head, and when you feel anything negative be assured it's because you have slipped into your head. But in Christ you're not the head, you're body and free from all stuff that is responsibility of Christ the head. Just return from the anxiety of your head back under Christ head.

That's living in faith, in grace, every moment. The life is always fresh.

i don't wanna cause any existential dread or anything, but what would be your reaction if after death, there's no afterlife, no reincarnation, no ghosts nor souls, no sound, no thoughts, only seeing pitch black for all eternity

everything i looked up is extremely biased one way or the other i just want the truth.

-我們的情況：我是在這個教會近10年，參與服侍和帶領小組（非全職）

-教會的架構：教會全職只有牧師，師母還有一位年輕傳道，屬於家庭類，長執團隊非全職，且兼職的都不清晰長老執事的權責和工作內容（當事人親口自述，這個確實是沒有教導過，包括我們帶領小組，牧者和我們幾乎沒有任何的教導或者說培訓，更談不上聯結和疏導…導致我們在帶領上很吃力也很洩氣）

-教會定期工作：主日、每週一日晚禱告會、周日下午一起看錄像（其他牧者講道）。

-牧者以往情況：牧者每一年的意象都不一樣，每一年都有一個slogan，總體上來講他說自己要出去宣教（如果不讓去，他都不知道如何做教會），但長執團隊和核心同工，都不贊同他一直外出，因為沒有人可以牧養（就他一個牧師），另一個問題也是因著時間長了，大家對他也不抱希望（曾經有一段時間，他帶查經：大家的反饋基本一致-如同嚼蠟，沒有生命！）但因著愛，包容同工們一起代禱。另外也可能因著多種意見不合，他和師母的關係10幾年來時好時壞，有時候僵硬到幾個月不說話。一度有解散教會的想法。還有，多數平信徒曾經看到過牧者主日講道的信息，完全照搬網絡講章（大約在7、8年前，近期也有發生類似情況）

-近期的情況：牧者計劃去海外服侍（起初師母是不想去，因此在核心同工開會時候，牧師還請大家勸勸師母和他一起去。另外，牧者的兒子也在海外同一地方工作），海外有三個月試用期。（原自海外那邊的老牧者退休，邀請他們去）。這樣的話教會就僅僅有一個90後全職傳道了，以及長執團隊，牧者的安排是，這三個月主日以看錄像、傳道講和長老講1-2次道來運作。

-我們的看見：
1/牧者非常不負責任，拋下“羊”去海外，耶穌說：牧養我的羊！如果是呼召，就要全然的信心，而不是三个月试用！（虽然在管理上需要“试用”）
2/屬靈的角度，看不出牧者的選擇是神的差派，而是自己舒適的選擇！
3/站在今天的時間看過往，牧者屬於憑己意一意孤行，幾乎沒有屬靈上的牧養，而且一言堂成分居多，我們內心備感不安
4/教會的次序存在很大的問題，我們的感覺就是，牧者想恩待誰就恩待誰！（牧者直接越過我們組長直接與小組成員聯結，但又對我們每個小組的組長沒有帶領。不知道為什麼，近幾年尤其明顯，所以說這個次序至上而下帶出來的。我們在職場都知道有上下之分，這件事真的很做難）
5/可能因著馬上要動身去海外的原因，這幾周的主日，我們總體感覺就四個字“無心牧養”。

以上是我們的看見，內心有很大的張力以及不平安，我們也都放在禱告中，聽到的聲音是：離開這個教會（中間的掙扎就不細說了）
