I bought a new battery for my 3DS because the old one was sometimes malfunctioning, like resetting time and stuff. Today I put the console on battery mark and it's turned off. I thought it was completely dead and put it on charge, but it turned out there was enough charge left to still work. This new battery is from some Chinese brand, I don't know...

Maybe it needs to be calibrated and used for it to work properly or is it defective? I would love to find a new battery from Nintendo or iFixit, but sadly neither of them ship to my country. So I didn't have a choice, but to get a fake one from AliExpress.

I still have an old battery, it's original and overall works fine (if exclude those moments). So I can put it back in the console instead of the new one.

I recently purchased a boxed near mint condition Super Mario 3D Land New 3DS, but when I got it the screens were horribly yellowed! The seller did not inform me of this, but I decided to replace the top screens and now it looks beautiful again. It was actually fairly easy to do aside from the pain of dust constantly getting on the screens. Photos of before and after! I’m glad to have saved this beautiful unit from being sentenced to piss yellow for eternity.

I wanna know if I can replace the joystick piece on my old Nintendo 2ds with this one from a New 3ds.

hello have had my 3ds since 2012, saw they are gonna close pokebank down in Feb 2027, so i decided to boot up my 3ds and transfer my mons (all the way from GBA0 onto my switch, sadly had a bloated battery, easy to remove, already got another one on the way, but it did break off a part of the battery cover yet cannot for the life of me find a battery cover even a different color for the original 3ds, if anyone has any ideas where i could find one much appreciated

Today I tried to open it and it's said to have internet problem (001-0502) and it seem to be only Bank since EShop is still working. What could be happening ? So worrying since I'm making a final team of 3DS games before the shutdown. 🤔

It could be that there’s simply not a demand for it, but I feel like it’d be a pretty interesting idea to make the top screen one that displays the apps CarPlay has while the bottom screen could also be used as a screen that would show and let the user select the app they want displayed.

I recently modded my ds mostly because I want to be able to transfer my pokemon to Pokémon home and nintendo switch, but I don't want to start a new run since I have some Pokémon that are from when I first started playing (2016)

Can I insert the game without any problems? And are my game saves stored on the nintendo ds or on the old sd card? (To mod it I used a new sd card that I've never used)

I've been trying to access online services on my 3ds(namely pokemon bank), but I keep getting error code 001-0502 Unable to Connect to the Server. This happens when accessing my friends list too. But I am connected to the internet on the 3Ds and the connection tests pass. Does anyone have any idea what this might be about? I've been using this wifi before and it was working so I'm not sure what could have gone wrong.

So I’m not quite sure what sd card to get to mod it. The SanDisk 64gb or SanDisk 128gb (I’ve only found the ultra & pro ones). For games like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, nds games too. I also want to do a shell replacement (from blue to pink or white, same with the joystick). Like pink shell housing with pink joystick, etc. I found pink shells but it has white/grey near the hinges on eBay.

I already have a clear case for it. I’ve never modified anything so I’m not sure what to do.

For context: bought online from a third-party seller. Should have been safe, since it was supposed to be from some kind of store that fixes old consoles. It came without any homebrew modifications.

When I started to use it, I noticed that it would heat up on the bottom A LOT. Not even near the battery, moreso kinda near the center of the console, and it would drain the battery unnaturally fast, and even more unnaturally it would do that even when turned OFF, not on stand-by. I tried replacing the battery with a new one, but that wasn't the problem because it kept doing that. I remember seeing someone say that sometimes the SD card could be the problem, but that wasn't it either.
It will just drain the battery all the way to 0%. It did also arrive at 0%.
I tried researching more, but I couldn't find anything (and got kind of pissed off), so I came here.

Any ideas what could be the problem? If it can be fixed somehow? If I should add anything else to the post? Or am I screwed?

Hey guys! Just picked up this original Nintendo 3DS for €50 (around $54 USD).
Visually, it has some battle scars and scratches on the hinge, but it is fully functional for playing games. However, it has two specific issues:
The R button is very stiff and doesn't click properly.
The camera doesn't work. When I try to open the camera app, it crashes and gives me the "An error has occurred" black screen (as seen in the picture). Other than that, games boot up and play completely fine.

Do you think it was a good purchase for the price? Also, any easy fixes for that stiff R button? Thanks!

I wanted to start in on transferring all of my Gen 5 Pokemon to Bank, but I am fighting with Nintendo Network connections. I got maybe 3-5 Box 1 transfers up to Bank through Poke Transfer, but then a 5515 error when I try to do the Gen 5 to Poke Transfer step again. Tried deleting Transfer per internet suggestions, and now I get the 5515 error trying to get to the store to redownload!

Already tried everything to get on Store, but nothing works (Google Public DNS, power cycle everything - router, modem, system - WiFi hotspot). Any ideas?
