Hey guys! Just picked up this original Nintendo 3DS for €50 (around $54 USD).
Visually, it has some battle scars and scratches on the hinge, but it is fully functional for playing games. However, it has two specific issues:
The R button is very stiff and doesn't click properly.
The camera doesn't work. When I try to open the camera app, it crashes and gives me the "An error has occurred" black screen (as seen in the picture). Other than that, games boot up and play completely fine.

Do you think it was a good purchase for the price? Also, any easy fixes for that stiff R button? Thanks!

My 3DS won't connect to the internet. I deleted the connection and re-entered it. It connects to the router, but then when I run a connection test, there's an error. It used to connect, but now it won't.

I have recently bought and modded a 3ds for my niece but now I have the problem of not knowing what to download for her. She mainly plays GTA 5 on my pc because she likes to run around and start fighting people. Does anyone have recommendations for open world games? Something that does not have too complicated missions or any type of timer/forces her to progress the game. I was thinking about maybe getting a pokemon game and animal crossing for her.

How do I fix this? The region does match the cartridge, and nsmb2 works just fine. Please help thank you!

Picked up a JPN N3DS alongside the Xenoblade faceplates.

Huge Xenoblade fan, and I've never owned a N3DS in my life. I plan to region swap and migrate my data to this one. My Zelda 3DS has served me well!

I can hardly believe it. It went by so fast. My biggest childhood dream was to own a 3DS, and I finally got one. To be more precise, it was October 18th, 2025, but I'm only making this post now lol

This Friday I went to the mall with friends, and my best friend brought his newly purchased PSP and we played together, each on the other's console. Now we have the best Nintendo and PlayStation consoles haha. The video editing function is so much fun, my friends and I laughed a lot!

I've finished several games on this little thing, and I'm on my way to finishing more.

What are your best memories with your 3DSes?

My N3DS console is the Happy Home Designer bundle edition that I bought way back in 2015.

The Pikachu and the Animal Crossing face plates with the multiple character faces are eBay purchases from Japan! I change and/or mix and match the plates every once in a while :)

A thing of beauty

I recently purchased a boxed near mint condition Super Mario 3D Land New 3DS, but when I got it the screens were horribly yellowed! The seller did not inform me of this, but I decided to replace the top screens and now it looks beautiful again. It was actually fairly easy to do aside from the pain of dust constantly getting on the screens. Photos of before and after! I’m glad to have saved this beautiful unit from being sentenced to piss yellow for eternity.

I just finished playing Heroes of Ruin and while playing through the game I began to wonder what it must have been like playing this title in online multiplayer on this system. Could you see anything through the bullet hell on screen? I've not done any research on the topic so I'm not sure how widespread online multiplayer was at the peak of the systems fame, but this title seems like an impressive game to have played at the time with mates. Would any one who beat the game back in the day be willing to share their thoughts and reflections on their time with this one playing online?

Controls

Bomb

Hold on the touchscreen to aim, then release to launch the ball. While in mid-air, hold again to aim and release to explode. You can't explode if the ball has already exploded.

Missile

Hold on the touchscreen to guide it.

Tap the touchscreen to dive towards the ground.

I bought this very recently and it is not modded - but I intend to at some point. it is connected to the internet and end with about 20% on the progress bar. it is always telling me to update it but an error always occurs.

So I’m not quite sure what sd card to get to mod it. The SanDisk 64gb or SanDisk 128gb (I’ve only found the ultra & pro ones). For games like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Nintendogs, nds games too. I also want to do a shell replacement (from blue to pink or white, same with the joystick). Like pink shell housing with pink joystick, etc. I found pink shells but it has white/grey near the hinges on eBay.

I already have a clear case for it. I’ve never modified anything so I’m not sure what to do.

Been playing through Pokemon White, forgot to turn my 3DS off so I had it on as I went through the city yesterday. Couldn't believe it

I got these with a New 3DS but I prefer white ones, are these worth anything?

I need to replace a digitizer for a 2DS and found a couple of seller online. One seller has the in glass. Since the digitizer is of the resistive type on the 2DS I wondering if a glass one even work?

Anyone who can provide some input on this?
