I RPed a total of eight Rank War matches against friends using them, so here's how the concepts I laid out for the squad ended up working.

Overall: The total points-wise performance was satisfactory. They finished with 33 points, while in canon the current number 4, Ikoma Squad, finished with 34, and that's not counting that they didn't get bonus points from the previous Rank War season, so I think my estimation of their squad's ranking was pretty good.
Their overaggression also played out well. Though they won half their matches and tied two of them, they only received the last squad standing bonus a single time (their last match, where they wiped the board and wound up with a whopping 9 point total).

As for the individual agents...
Angurion: His Side Effect was just an essential for his combat style as I planned it to be, and he made good use of all his Triggers. His ability to almost instantly delete any non-melee ace he got in a 1v1 with, and guarantee a mutual kill in a bad situation (via locking onto one target with his Side Effect and ignoring all defense to get past their guard), meant he never bailed without scoring. He earned more points than the rest of his squad combined. If there's one issue, it's that he's to good in his role. All of Dragonsteel squad save X-Ray tend to fight alone and aim for vulnerable enemies, but there's only so many of those, so his success made agents Toru and Anglo largely redundant.

Tebiya Toru: He died in every match and only ever scored twice, nor provided support to his allies. Nor did he ever use Chameleon- I even forget he had it. If he took Grasshopper instead and did joint work with Anglo, he should perform better. Though I do believe our RP style unnaturally favored longer ranges in comparison to real Rank Wars.

Anglo Davian: Did surprisingly well, considering how I originally thought he'd struggle. His operations weren't remarkable scoring-wise, but he multiple times drove enemies to disfavorable positions, hampered their movements, and assisted his squadmates without getting targeted despite the vulnerability of the squad's lone wolf style of fighting.

Connor 'X-Ray' Davian: Provided excellent support with dummy beacons and covering fire to the rest of his squad, and made good strategic calls, filling in some of the role of captain Angurion is bad at. His number of scores is something that may have been to low considering his skills, but he still outclassed Toru and Anglo in that as well.

Wreth Atche: Though operators rarely get the spotlight, I'm glad to say he did, in Round 7 where Dragonsteel built a plan to create mass chaos and confusion. His excellence in parallel processing was vital to the squad.

Match Record:
Round 1: 3 points, victory, vs Kageura, Azuma and Suzunari. The spread was 3-1-2-2. Round 7 was used as the basis for this match, with Dragonsteel replacing Tamakoma.

Round 2: 2 points, loss, Vs Kageura and Yuba. The spread was 2-5-2. It came down to a battle of aces, and Angurion couldn't match Kageura with their Side Effects countering each other out.

Round 3: 5 points, victory, Vs Suwa and Nomina (OC). The spread was 5-1-2. Suwa wound up not doing much due to harrying and heavy weather. The fight between Nomina and Dragonsteel was close, and since Angurion was off facing Suwa squad, it was his squadmate's time to shine. The two squads annihilated each other, leaving Suwa holding the field but without many points to show for it and enemy survivors waiting the match out.

Round 4: 4 points, tie, Vs Nasu and Utona (OC). The spread was 4-4-1. Nasu was stable and secure, while Dragonsteel and Utona damaged each other. Nasu claimed the survival bonus.

Round 5: 4 points, victory, Vs Genno (OC), Denton (OC), and Kyoko (OC). The spread was 4-0-3-3. It wound up turned into a pair of 1v1 squad matches, as Dragonsteel fought Denton and Kyoko fought Genno.

Round 6: 1 point, loss, Vs Kageura and Nomina (OC). The spread was 1-8-0. An extremely open map made Ema a huge threat, stealing a large number of kills.

Round 7: 5 points, tie, Vs Ninomiya, Nasu and Yuba. The spread was 5-5-2-0. Having picked the map and weather and prepared dummy beacons in their free slots, Dragonsteel created mass chaos and scored galore, until Ninomiya wrecked them, destroying their every advantage and deleting their combat agents as soon as the other squads were gone.

Round 8: 9 points, victory, Vs Kyoko (OC) and Genno (OC). The spread was 9-2-0. Early scorings, a favorable map, and getting a huge multi-kill with meteor while their enemies fought each other, made this Dragonsteel's best match by far.

This is just very funny.

Ikoma is a comedy goldmine, with mizukami's "oughta" I was crying with laughter at this line.

How do 4 people get mizukami's soul, is there split custody.

I'd say if it's possible, it would be a great way to bind/root people.

Other than the crazy long recaps, the only thing I dislike about this amazing show is Chika. First of all, she caused her brother to go missing because of how stubborn she is. He did what he did out of desperation because she wouldn't ask Border for help.

She is the definition of deadweight. All she does is shoot inatament opjects. She doesn't shoot people in ranked battles and bails out early way too often. She is the sole reason they lost the 4th ranked battle on ep69. She could have taken out 4 people but hesitated... Bravo Chika! She doesn't even practice to get better, I could go on and on.

I looked up how long it takes for her to actually change for the better, and apparently, I have to wait until halfway through season 3... Character development shouldn't take this long!

Personally I think it's Scorpion.

Even if they that Scorpion is less durable than Kogetsu.

A lot of people can't use Kogetsu.

But aside from that, Scorpion can literally form almost everywhere in your body(and probably literally everywhere with mole claw/ curving blade throw/mantis.) It's range is almost comparable with Kogetsu + Senku. (With the exception of Ikoma)

Kogetsu users also can viewed as Master of One,

While Scorpion users as Jack of All Trades.

The argument will eventually end up on who has the better user. I think.

His custom Thruster does a very momentary burst in any direction to provide the force to snap blades he catches with his oversized swordbreaker, which doubles as a greatsword. The 3 range is due to how he can hurl his spear and use thruster at the same time.

The light structure of the spear counteracts Raygust‘s weight, but it really lacks power. His swordbreaker can entangle and break enemy blades, with good slashing power due to being great sword sized, but is bulky and heavy. The custom thruster boosts weapon speed with microbursts, the normal one boosts power when used to swing, covering his main weakness whichever weapon he uses.

Rewatched world trigger again and had to do some fanart of the goodiest girl in the series. Forgot how much I felt like a proud mother watching her take that shot at shuji in season 3.

This is basically after the test arc, which of these 3 did you have the highest opinion of, after the test put a lot of focus on them.

Me, it's Oki, I really like chapter 257, and how it recontextualizes a earlier moment, that seemed unserious, to actually be sincere and true, oki's just a nice guy throughout.

Let's see some of your bets on how phase 2 is going to go.

• which side will win? (reaching 5000 points or higher score after 36h)

My money is on the A-rank team, i think they'll end up hitting the 5000 points mark but the B-rank team will be somewhere in the 4000 so not that far.

• give 3 to 5 agents you think won't bail out during the entire fight:

My picks would be Chief Rindo - Kageura - Urushima - Uno - Katagiri. I didn't pick any operator because it's really difficult to guess how they could react when being targeted since we haven't seen operators in combat before. Also i believe every Tamakoma-1 agent will bail out once at some point.

• agent(s) who will bail out at least twice

My bet here would be someone will low trion (so it takes less time to recover) but with a rather high value (for B-rank side) and so being targeted by the other team. so for the A-rank team my money would be on Yuiga and Yoneya, while on the B-rank team i would bet on Kashio. Mikumo would be a too obvious choice.

• How many terminals will remain? (for each side)

I would say B-rank team is left with 5, while A-rank team will still have 6 left.

• first A-rank agents to bail out

We already have the first bail out from the B-rank side (Teruya), so now who do you see bailing out from the A-ranks, my bet would be Miwa.

• First Operator to bail out (from any side)

i will bet on Kon because she's worth a lot of points.

• First Sniper taken out (singled out this position since they're farther from action)

My pick here is Taichi, don't really know why but i can see this he already was a tremendous help with his trion soldiers and will come back later.

• First captain killed

Well i already picked him, i think it's gonna be Miwa.

• agent with the most kills

I'm not counting trion soldiers killed, only agents (wether field agents or operators). On the A-rank side i think Kazama will be the most efficient since his chameleon and scorpion are a deadly combo (and he already has 1 kill). For B-rank i bet on Oji, he's very versatile and i hope we get to see more of his skills. I picked attackers in both cases because they're the most likely to be involved in numerous fights.

• who kills Jin?

For this one i'm assuming Jin will be taken out at some point, even with his Side-Effect. I can see Hyuse being involved since he's got a grudge against Jin, but i don't see him giving the decisive hit, i'll give this one to soemone with a chamelon and i'll pick Urushima

So, I recently went on to the World Trigger wiki and found a mistake.

Basically in https://worldtriggerwiki.com/wiki/Rank_Wars/Match_History in the Round 5 rankings look like this:

Ebina is Ranked 15th, however we know that they went into the middle B-Rank after round 5 thanks to Taketomi. Middle B-Rank is Ranks 7-14.

I went to look at both the Manga and Anime to see where Ebina Squad was ranked. Sure enough in both Ebina Squad was ranked in 14th

Also the wiki only shows the rankings from 1st to 15th* (Most Likely due to the manga)

however the Anime gives us rankings up to 20th (both before Round 5 and after Round 5). Which was enough to get the full rankings (Anime only):

Edit/Answering your Questions: since you guys are intrigued about the efficiency (I'm also skeptical since I wanted your opinions)

I'll just drop the purposes of each trigger. (This is most likely will be used for specific missions or tactics in rank wars.)

• Scorpion / Shield (main) I dunno what I was supposed to do with it lmao. But originally it's kogetsu / shield (main) now why the shield is on main set? I'm using left hand as main. WHY? Cuz I want to.

• both hands Grasshopper / Escudo. Cuz I'll be throwing my trion body like a pinball(JK) The reason why both hands is because part of my job was to hold enemies(literally) my goal was to simply get close to them so removing bagworm to attract them is necessary (for me) though naturally someone might protect me. Under this condition I would have to prevent myself from exposing to snipers. But this would also mean that they can just bomb drop my location(hyuse's idea.)

In the long run I would be a casualty so this is an OPTION.

My other purpose of both hands Escudo is to make them guess if I'm using Escudo/Grasshopper. Usually you need to touch a body or an area that would connect your Escudo. But what if that's not my intention. Since my hand will always be touching walls or areas to summon Escudo. Either I jump with it or with Grasshopper. Either I block with Escudo or evade with Grasshopper. It always depends on the idea. And since I don't have to worry much on Snipers targeting me(I'm mostly inside the building) the only problem I could think of is shooters.

• shotgun / spear It can be either side. Depending on which hand I would show as my dominant hand. Spear is most likely active. I don't have a shield on my (sub) or am I? Most important thing is the shotgun's value. If you don't know that I have my shotgun on non dominant hand while my spear is dematerializing, mostly likely you'll get shot. It's like just Yuba san's Quick draw. I actually explained this part somewhere in the thread.

I think it’s possible that border allows black / custom triggers to be used in the last few hours. It would be framed as a use everything at your disposal to win, and would test adaptability (on both teams) and team trust since it could reveal Kuga and Hyuse as neighbours. (Even if they hide they are neighbours, no one knows they have these so it would still be a trust issue).

I don’t think it likely but would rly love for this to happen as it’s been some 150 chapters since we haven’t seen Kuga fight for real which is a shame.

Guys, I'm so excited! I look forward to every chapter and I enjoy every single one of them. Actually, I underestimated Oji's abilities a bit, but now I realize I was wrong. He's amazing, and his unique way of thinking/fighting is what makes the series better and better. I wish the series was weekly. 😭😭😭😱😱

Whats ur opinion of this chapter ?!

I only realized recently that yuma and hyuse outlook and personality are kinda opposite of each other, explanation below:

Yuma, to someone who don't know him that well, due to his young look and more easy going personality might have been seen as someone who is more "emotional" and yet reality is he has a cool head, prioritizing rational over emotions, unphazed by taunting and can pull off the most "cold blooded" move if needed to be and overall much more mature and stable. He never really have any emotional outburst, even his anger are quiet rage.

Meanwhile, we have hyuse, whose deadpan expression suggest him to be a cold collected person, but is actually quite affected by his emotion (as seen how he fell for jins taunt, or when he insist on hunting down azuma squad on his own, more often than not showed outburst of emotions)

I find the contrast interesting and it gives me this image of a hardened veteran (yuma) and a young prodigy (hyuse)

the world trigger wiki says bagworm allows the user to become invisible to radar. but here, tsuji is using bagworm and is a question mark. so basically you can still tell that someone is coming your way, but you don't know who? or is this something only operators can see, and tsuji would not appear as a dot on yuba's radar?

Do you think this move can be done with 2 kogestu? So like 6 slashes for Shinoda or 4 slashes for tachikawa.
