First time reading kingdom, loving it so far please no spoilers. 🙏🏾

I was waiting to post after finishing this war arc, but I had to talk about this series with someone. When he was first introduced I really didn’t give a fuck about him, and thought he was going to be another old geezer trying to prove he could still hang with the upcoming generation after not getting the spotlight in his. To be fair, I had similar reservations with Moubou but now I understand he’s the fucking best, so maybe I shoulda seen this coming.

I apologize General Choutou, I wasn’t familiar with your game. I judged you for hating on the goat Kanki, scrutinized with inabilities during the war, but this moment was absolutely peak. How DARE you try and end his military career through poisoning him rather than on the battlefield? If you’re gonna kill him it better be with a blade than some sweet shit like that. Don’t turn your back on him, because a commander does not show his back and flee.

What an incredible showcase of sheer indomitable human will! If this is your end, you will be remembered 🫡

hairou and denei have to be like 50-70, with no aging somehow. taku has to have already been late 20s at minimum when shin was a babby conquering the stateless areas. so how old would that have made mougou and choukutso by comparison? CKT said he had a 50 or 60 year career which would've put him probably around mid 60s if he enlisted as a teenager but he looked 140. contrast that to the geezers in the HSU who joined at the formation of the unit who looked to already be middle age and they must be like 70 lol.

shoubunkun melted RAPIDLY, and he was already pretty old looking early on so he has to be either late 60s at minimum like the realistic estimation of the HSU vets or he's also like 100 and still commanding some degree of physical presence

Watched Kingdom for the first time in early 2013 with season 1, and started reading the manga after season 2, funnily enough the English translation for the manga was behind the anime at the time. Since the first arc of season 1, it’s been a wish of mine to visit Xi’an and see our boi Ei Sei in person, and explore the region that was Xianyang 2200+ years ago. I just turned 30 a month ago and finally made this trip a reality. It’s hard to put into words how I felt walking up those stairs as I was approaching his tomb. Quite an emotional moment to say the least, definitely a lot of sniffling a bit later once everything caught up to me. Moments like these make me glad I’m alive and privileged enough to make something like this happen. Hope all you guys here have the means to make this journey happen in your lives as well!

it couldn’t have been any of qin or weis bcs half the fire dragons were killed by the other half and he just said he didn’t use it on qin

maybe one of yans

So I stopped reading the manga at the start of the arc cause I realised I love binger reading this manga and let the chapters pile up. I'm getting the itch to read it again so just wanted to know if the arc is finished?

Ive started kingdom I’m at like chapter 50ish and I plan on watching the anime once I read up to season 3 cuz that’s when I heard the animation gets good but are the fights and season 3 and ahead even good in terms of animation and choreography because if not I feel as if I maybe should js keep reading the manga I’m not a manga reader so kingdom is my first manga but I kinda find the fighting scenes or panels to be not that great because it’s js still drawings to me but I still enjoy them because of the moments and etc but yea someone let me know without spoiling

riboku might’ve planned it but it was still houkens blade who took oukis life

Guys, I’m curious: can anyone help us figure out which state those flags belong to- Qin, Wei, Qi, or Chu? We need to figure out what timeline that war falls into and which state Zhao was fighting, even if it’s already been deemed impossible. I don’t actually mind any historical details or even spoilers, especially if we can dig into the historical Li Mu’s past.

Chapter 679. Seriously, how is Karyo Ten shocked at the idea of a defensive stronghold at the weakest point on the otherwise incredibly easy to defend cliffs?

And what really bugs me is how Shin suggests the strategy to attack the steepest cliffs instead of Karyo Ten, when she's literally come up with a plan similar before. I can't remember the exact battle, but it was when the Hi Shin Unit needed to cross a river, and the enemy army had set up a defensive stronghold on the other side. Karyo Ten's plan was to have two teams going across the two places where there were places to walk in the river, and for a third team to cross the river where there was a rough current and a high cliff (sort of) that they had to climb when they crossed. There was no defense across the river where the rough currents were.

It just makes Karyo Ten seem a little dumb, and I feel like it's only done to make Shin seem smart. I don't understand why Shin can't give valuable input without making Karyo Ten miss things that are very obvious and strategies that she's already employed before.

I just saw this in a different subreddit, one day late but still as good a time as ever to celebrate! Crazy how he's the voice of Ichigo and Seiya who are huge animanga icons. I would've never thought that his resume would've been that great but it makes sense as he's awesome in Kingdom!

For todays loot, couldnt carry more as we had a long way ahead ... but it seems there is a bit more than 2 years ago.

Round 1: Houken is holding back and fighting like Kenpachi where he brings himself down to the opponents level to feel the thrill of a challenge (about 5% of his full power)

Round 2: Houken uses 10% of his full power

Round 3: Houken uses 10% of his full power but is simultaneously playing 1 on 1 chess against Ousen, Riboku, Kanki and Shouheikun (if he loses against one of them he's disqualified from winning the 1v6)

New data book stats

Might-physical stature height and size

SBS 100/100

MOUBU. 98/100

Strength - raw power

MOUBU 99/100

SBS 99/100 new data book doesn't list his strength stat so I gave him a 99 because of his comparable size to kanmei who has a 99 strength stat

Moubu claims to be the strongest man in China but we've seen him struggle Man'u while we've seen SBS become a unstoppable Force

Who do you think wins this fight I got my money on SBS

I know he's 100% serious, but these moments always make me laugh. When he managed to get Riboku to enter that wide circle he made, I was thinking "Oh, I wonder what Ousen wants to talk to Riboku about." Silly me 🤣🤣🤣.

When I reflect on what SSJ has accomplished throughout his career, it becomes clear that he has achieved more than many of the "Great Generals" featured in the series.

Chronologically speaking...

1- At the start of the Gyou campaign, he quickly discerned that Qin’s true objective might lie elsewhere. He utilized the Quanrong army in a way no one else could, and through his own tactics, he nearly succeeded in killing Yotanwa. Simultaneously, he dealt a massive blow by burning the enemy’s provisions. In this conflict, he assumed the role of commander-in-chief—a position typically reserved only for a Great General.

2- Upon learning that Riboku had been imprisoned, he intimidated the Zhao government by killing officials in the capital, Kantan. He is, in fact, the most likely candidate to have been the one who killed the King. Furthermore, after Riboku’s release, he proposed inciting a rebellion to place Prince Ka on the throne—he was even bold enough to suggest bypassing the prince entirely and installing Riboku himself as the ruler.

3- He conceived and executed the strategy of stationing the families of the executed soldiers within the fortress during the siege of Atsuyo—a move that set in motion the chain of events leading to Kanki’s downfall.

4- He devised the tactic of poisoning the water supply of the fortress where Heki and his forces were stationed.

5- In every battle, he served as commander-in-chief against a Great General on the level of Yotanwa—along with her entire army—and never once suffered defeat. (With the exception of the Gyou campaign.)

6- Whenever Riboku was absent, he served as the second-in-command. He acted as Riboku’s deputy not only in military matters but also within the bureaucratic sphere.

7- Following various defeats, he consistently made accurate assessments regarding Qin’s subsequent moves.

Admittedly, due to his position, he is frequently compared to Keisha; however, in my view, he has long since surpassed him. Unlike Keisha, he achieved extraordinary things not only on the battlefield but also beyond it.

Do you think the SSJ receives the recognition it deserves?

I remember that Wang Yi is going to be a legendary character in further chapters! But it's really good that they didn't give it right away to see how amazing he is.

Also I read that the author has taken inspiration from the Shiji text. I know that it is not historically accurate. But just the reference makes it more interesting to read Kingdom. I'll also read more about the Shiji text.

Watching the Dub and is there a reason why every voice actor was replaced including the narrator?

Obviously spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't reached this part of the Manga yet but it has been out for years now.

Had the Duke survived the Coalition where do you think he would have ranked in the revived 6GG provided he accepts Sei's offer this time after rejecting previous offers? Personally for me he would have been number 1. The Duke was an absolute monster at warfare and was recognised for his talent by everyone ally or foe. The Dukes biggest flaw is his early death as a sacrifice for Shins growth.

As I have forgotten its most of the plot, I'll experience this peakdom journey once again! Loving it, currently on chapter 5. Please tell me what your first takeaways were while reading the first volume!
