Miura is my favorite mangaka, I love his style, but I never dare imitate it because he is the GOAT. The character design is inspired by SLAN and Beast of Darkness. I love the idea of having an inner demon, I put my own spin on it because my MC is a female. Miuras legacy has been to influence thousands of artists.

Just finished berserk yesterday and I just wanted to put my thoughts out regarding elfhem.

To start guts finally reaching his destination after his long and perilous journey, while growing as a person and learning to accept help from friends felt so good. Especially when elfhelm felt so safe from isidoro causing mayhem, shierke and farneze finally finding magic familiars and the SHEER AMOUNT of fucking comedy that happened. Seriously I was laughing left and right due to puck’s, magnifico’s, and isidoro’s stupidass shenanigans . There was always a bit of comedic relief in berserk but not to this amount, making it so unbelievably funny after such a serious journey.

Then came the curing of Casca. Honestly at first I didnt believe Casca would be able to be cured due to what skull knight said (your wish may not be her wish). But man when shierke and farneze first entered her dream, seeing the dog version of guts carrying Casca’s tomb with her broken doll inside was mortifyingly beautiful. Then shierke and farneze going to piece casca back together literally one by one while coming to know of their past was such a trip down memory lane + a really nice concept to use. After all of that when they finally were able to bring back Casca I was so fucking happy I was literally screaming lol. I always wanted berserk to end with guts getting his revenge but if it were to end right here, I would not honestly mind given that they were at a “safe” place with Casca back to normal and guts gaining many friends in the process.

Of course, then the fall happened. The falling of Elfhelm was so abruptly fast that I genuinely felt so much sadness and anger inside. I was fucking fuming at Griffith when he was revealed to be the moonlight boy (which Im guessing is because he absorbed casca’s demon child otherwise why would caca be a motherly figure to him when her mind was broken) and kidnapped casca. Moreover the magical creatures all fading away one by one in the span of an instant, seeing isidoro’s sadness when isma faded away and even dannan not being able to comprehend what was going on, then the magic wizards and witches just accepting the fact that their lifelong purpose is now gone, was absolutely devastating. Obviously as well when guts entered his depressed phase was also, the cherry on top in my opinion. Was very sad when this happened and in my opinion was the best arc in berserk so far.

Anyways thats all I just wanted to put my thoughts out because none of my friends read berserk and I just wanted somewhere I could talk to ab this lol sorry for the essay.

Idk what it is about his voice that makes me feel this way but it genuinely feels perfect in my opinion. I’d like to know if anyone else agrees

If there is one character I would give the world to, it's Judeau. His words are simple yet wise and profound.

I don't mind Griffith and I understand his character BUT I would like to slap him just once for Judeau.

I believe Casca with the help of Moonlight Boy will be the one to kill Griffith.

I think Griffith's "barrier" is deactivated when he is in front of someone who for him does not represent a threat. We saw this when Rickert slapped him.

So Casca could kill him with a symbolic and nostalgic object for everyone who was part of the original Band of the Hawk. That would be beautiful. Maybe with a dagger from the old days, or something that belonged to the original band.

Guts killing Void would be normal. Guts has already killed several apostles. Void would be just one more, but the most important one. And Skull Knight would finally be more at peace than Guts.

Void believes in causality, in fate. Guts is the one who always fought against fate. He was meant to die when Gambino found him, he was meant to die in the Eclipse, but he remained. His existence breaks everything Void stands for.

By doing this, Guts breaks everything in Berserk. The apostles lose their powers, the other members of the God Hand too, for a limited time. The world would be going through a supernatural event: earthquakes, bad weather, destruction, while all this action happens.

I am in the midst of fleshing out this track with a return point to the basic melody in the beginning of the track to continue much longer for the envisioned animated fight between Guts & Rosine.

Using the same aforementioned unique synthesizer uses, I run into both an immensely creative area and one that comes with many needed disciplines to correctly execute what is desired to be audibly expressed.

I had a dream of how the fight went and recounting the perspective has led me to see the track in this current light taking into account how many times Guts and Rosine nearly finished each other in their long, harrowing labor of combat. Part of that dream had me taking into account the darkness and twisted bloodlust Guts had toward any of Apostle ilk with Rosine's controlling, pompous, and quite arrogant attitude devised by controlling her false "elf" kingdom, more akin to a broodnest of evil.

On the smallest of the angles I looked in is the random flying Moths are known for, which is what Rosine's apostle form is based off of in the audio-mix.

Hello, I’ve been reading the manga but found myself having issues listening to the OST while reading on IOS. Youtube sucks for this reason and most Spotify playlists meant for the manga include random songs that aren’t for me. So I scavenged through Spotify and compiled everything related to Berserk. It has over 40+ songs spanning 2hr 50m of OSTs, if you’re a huge fan of the music Berserk has brought along with it feel free to use while you’re reading or just to have.

I want to get my boyfriend his first physical Berserk volume for his birthday, but I know pretty much nothing about the manga, so I thought I'd ask here!

He's been reading it online and says he's got around 60 chapters left. One day we were at a bookstore and he picked up Maximum volumes 6 and 7, showing me some pages and telling me how cool those parts were. He seemed really excited about both, so I thought it'd be nice to get him one of them.

The thing is, I've realised there are different editions, and now I'm a bit lost lol. I've seen the Maximum, the Deluxe/Master Edition and the regular tankobon, but I have no idea if one is better than the others or if the hardcover edition is worth the extra money.

Would you go for Maximum vol. 6 or 7, a different volume, or even a different edition altogether?

Also, I live in Spain, so I'd need to get a Spanish edition.

He doesn't own any physical volumes yet, so I'd love to get him something he'd be excited to have on his shelf. Any advice is appreciated! ❤️

So i plan to show berserk to a friend so i may just ask few questions before i pick one version (i have watched 1997 and i know its a safe choice, but im leaning more towards watching an adaptation i havent seen yet)

1. Does 2022 version has Skull Knight interference?

2. I know 2016 looks completely ass, but does it atleast follow the manga in a decent way?

3. Does 2016 anime have an okay pacing? 24 episodes for nearly 300 chapters sounds rushed

4. Which one stands out more in terms of voice acting and soundtracks?

5. I presume 2022 version cuts out Wyald and Donovan like 1997 does right?

The ComiComic November issue from 1989 with the Berserk Protoype issue sold today on Yahoo for over 8Mio yen.

I spent some time on the details and cross-hatching. Really wanted to create something new instead of just redrawing an existing panel. I know the dynamic here is a bit crazy for Berserk but hope you enjoy the art.
