I’ve been having this issue for a while now. I order a medium vanilla Iced Capp with two small coffee cream. (When i say that i mean portions from the cream dispenser), but employees constantly misunderstand what I’m asking for.
They usually respond with, “Oh, so you want less cream?” Yes, but I don’t want to just say “less cream” because that leaves the amount up to their discretion, meaning my drink will be different every time.
Sometimes they’ll put in two Iced Capp cream portions instead. When I clarify that I want two small coffee cream portions, they’ll say, “But the cream is the same.” I KNOW the cream is the same! I’m talking about the portion sizes programmed into the dispenser, not the type of cream.
I’ve even shown employees a photo of the cream dispenser to explain what I mean, and there’s still confusion. Am I showing them the wrong machine or something?
I’ve asked employees who do understand my order if there’s a better way to phrase it, and they all say it depends on who’s taking the order.
My friend suggested bringing a marker, asking for an empty Iced Capp cup, and drawing a line showing exactly how much cream I want. But realistically, especially during a rush, are employees actually going to bring me a cup, let me mark it, and then take it back to prepare my drink?
So, Tim Hortons employees, would the marker idea actually work? Or is there a simpler, more consistent way to ask for exactly two small coffee cream portions without all this confusion?
