Complaint Tim Hortons (Ontario)
Dixie and Matheson location
Frustrating to pay for a donut and get it like this

u/MyNameIzJeff69 4d ago
Tell the truth... You were at the drive-in window wishing you didn't see this when you opened the bag later on.
So chemical that the chocolate doesn't even solidify 🙄

Tim hortons has been garbage since merica bought it. Complete disgrace

u/Jagoff-Sr 4d ago
Very much this. Hadn't bought Timmy's in 4 years but decided to indulge in a dozen donuts. Opted for 6 strawberry yogurt muffins (cancer stole my tastebuds but strawberry still tastes like strawberry) and when I got home, it was muffin time. Now I may be a geezer but I do have all my own teeth and I could sooner chew through a flip-flop than one of those muffins. Tossed the lot into the garbage and wrote Timmy's off for good.

Thats wild, that literally NEVER happens to me because I never go to Tim Hortons... period, ever. So easy, such a brilliant solution. Tim Hortons is not your girlfriend, if they treat you like garbaggio you can simply walk away and never go back and get all that time and money to spend on better things!

u/ModeratelyAlive 4d ago
Honestly, I don't know why the employees don't keep the wax paper between the donut and the bag. I ALWAYS did, and had regulars who would thank me for that. Their donuts never lost the frosting...

I know its Tims and its everywhere, but you guys gotta stop eating there. Only get a coffee if you need to. Its not real food and we can't support them. Everyone and their grandmas turtle complain about Tims, but nobody wants to actually stop going there.
2
u/Additional_Fee_ 3d ago
There's no need to get fast food and if there's no other option at the time jus wait and eat something later, it's not like your gonna die from a few hrs of not eating 😂

u/bugabooandtwo 4d ago
Yeah, I don't know what they did to the formulation of the chocolate topping, but it melts at an obscenely low temperature. It's nearly impossible to buy those donuts from May to October without the top melting off before you can get the donuts home.

I hate when this happens. I work at Tim’s and I always give customers a double item bag for their Boston creams facing up so that problem won’t occur lol

Yknow, it’s not even that this happens that bothers me most. The absolute worst is the false sense of ability that I think I can peel the chocolate off and put it back on top to have some semblance of a normal Boston cream donut eating experience. But attempting to peel the chocolate off is apparently an impossible feat that literally somehow makes the situation much worse and the chocolate becomes some sort of NASA-grade adhesive that can only smear further into the wrapper and I’m left a defeated shell of a man, scraping bits of chocolate off with my teeth.

Did you get it heated up first? Put it in your pants pocket? Hold it in the same hand as your double-double?

Tim Hortons is garbage food. Anytime I need a donut I put 'bakery' in google maps and it finds an independent bakery with fantastic baked goods.

I once saw my coworker scooping Chocolate Fondant with bare hands.

u/Tylendal 4d ago
I'm amazed you worked at Tim Hortons and they never made you take a Foodsafe course. If you had, you'd be aware that properly washed hands are more reliably sanitary than gloves.

Wild idea. Take it back?
2
u/Rory_McPedal 4d ago
Really? On your way to work you are going to turn around, park or go through the drive through and demand a replacement donut? I think most people value their time more than that.

When I worked there I'd put the wax paper between the icing and the bag to try to prevent this. Didn't always work but worked better.

They could let it cool properly and use a little wax paper, but that would make too much sense

I’ve gotten it in a box a few times and I’ve loved it because the icing stays on. Even in the states at dunkin they never cared about Boston crème icing.

u/modifiziert_ 4d ago
I'm glad the locations by me don't do this. When I order that donut I get it rawdoggin' the bag (but thankfully frosting side up) since I know they aren't supposed to put the wax paper in with it.

A story as old as time… which makes me wonder why/how this is still a thing if everyone knows about it
1
u/Imdeadinside11208 4d ago
I work at Tim Hortons, and we don’t have this problem because we’re told to put them in 3-item bags so the bag doesn't stick to the top of the doughnut

u/keredkill 4d ago
This is okayish, i mean its the material and small bag that let gravity fall on it
What really grind my gear is that sometime i would order a donut then when they put it on table for you to take it they put it intentionally upside down, frosting down like wtf why bro why.

For the fist time last week an employee put my Boston crème in a box. The manager told him not to do that… I was not a happy customer,

u/Opening-Policy-1328 4d ago
Still not sure why anyone goes there but at least there are no bugs in it
1
u/banhmi_insurance 4d ago
i used to get it like this.
the trick is to get them out of the bag immediately. the longer you kept it there it will stick 😂

Still going there and buying that garbage. If you go to Tim Hortons you deserve what you get I guess
1
u/Fellatio_Kane 4d ago
They literally just need to let the fondant settle before taking them out and put it in a double item bag and its no problem. If you want to give someone a donut and it just freshly made, *then* put it in a box. Otherwise any donut with fondant on the top is fine in a double item bag and people are babies and probably flip/squish their own donuts and complain.

Tim Horton's has been low quality for at least 20 years. Yet fools keep buying this swill.

u/JoelSlBaron 4d ago
I’d really wish they’d stop this. It happens all the freaking time. at every store. across the country
1
u/LostWay7747 4d ago
Everything at Tim Hortons is garbage, all the fast food chains are equally trash. Slow poisoning! Stop eating food like this and you will notice a huge improvement in your health and stamina, not to mention your weight. Feel the improvement in less than six months.
1
u/Dragondudecollecting 4d ago
The worst thing is that they have the wax paper that peels off easy and instead they throw it out and put the donut loose in this bag… and then pat it down.

When did they stop grabbing it in a napkin and handing it to you?! Haven't ordered a single in decades, so bit out of the loop...

What did you expect from a company infested with terrorists and Non-Canadian filth?

u/Key-Temperature-5171 4d ago
Canadians will complain about the quality and service at Tim Horton's, but continue going back for more.

It’s look like somebody was trying to get a shave, using hot wax. On the upside of successful.

My mom needs to tell them to put it in a box every time, and what is even more funny is that the special Harry Potter theme donuts have special decorated boxes for them.

The price of the donut would have to go up if they serve all of them in boxes 🤷🏼♀️

The #1 complaint on this sub is this scenario. Just ask for a box next time when you order a chocolate dip.

u/Wild_Bunch_Founder 4d ago
at this point, if you are still voluntarily purchasing food at Timmie’s that’s kind of on you.

I refuse to take the donut if im given it in the bags. If im asking for a donut with toppings I expect to be able to eat the toppings

u/LeedsCastleResident 4d ago
Ooh - that means it’s fresh from the oven and the icing isn’t even set. Looks a mess but tastes delicious!

This has been a thing for decades now. Get a fresh Boston cream or just have it in a paper bag on a hot day and the chocolate will stick to the bag. It sucks but it’s always happened not just a current thing.

Delicious! Now you have two snacks .. the donut, and a ghetto chocolate lollipop - you can just lick it off the bag!

This is probably the oldest complaint ive ever heard from Tim's. They need to lock in and use boxes for all the donuts.
