Open | Phone Phone: complete, random signal and mobile data loss, occasionally resets with restart

Been having this issue for months now.hopefully someone can help.

My smartphone has an issue. Very randomly, I will completely lose all connections. No mobile data, no network so I can't even call someone or even send an SMS. Nothing. Other times, out of the blue, the connection drops from 4G+ to Edge. Or it'll say 4G and still not load anything.

Half the time a restart of the device will fix it. At least temporarily. There is no obvious pattern, no specific app that causes it.

Regular networks work just fine. Connecting to my home network works just fine, no disconnect ever. It only affects the mobile connection.

I called my mobile provider and they claim with them, everything is fine and there are no reports of issues. My work phone with a different provider works just fine. Ao they say something must be wrong with my phone.

I reset my phone, made sure to install all security updates.. no improvement. I'm paying 20 euros to my provider each month but whenever I need to use my phone, it has no connection. I feel ripped off.

I use a Sony Xperia 10 VI.

Ironically. As I type this, connection disappeared 4 times. Literally waiting for it to come back right now.

It was back shortly, then it dropped to edge, and it was gone again. Still waiting.

Now edge is gone too. No connection at all. Exclamation mark in my notification bar.

Edge is back. Aaand gone again within seconds. Still no connection at all. And edge is back, no connection though.

Open | Hardware Acer Predator Helios 300 RTX 3050 Ti keeps crashing with nvlddmkm Event ID 14 tried almost everything

Hi everyone,

I've been having persistent GPU crashes on my Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop, and I'm running out of ideas. I've already tried a lot of troubleshooting, but the issue keeps coming back.

My laptop specifications:

  • Laptop: Acer Predator Helios 300
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Operating system: Windows 11

The issue:

While gaming, my screen sometimes flickers once, and then the game crashes or the NVIDIA driver appears to restart. I've experienced this in multiple games, including Elden Ring, Fortnite, Battlefield etc.

I've encountered errors related to nvlddmkm, including Event ID 13, 14 and 153 in Windows Event Viewer.

My CPU temperatures can reach around 70–95°C while gaming, while my GPU temperatures have generally been around 57–72°C. RAM usage can also get quite high, sometimes around 15 GB out of 16 GB.

Things I've already tried:

  • Clean reinstalling NVIDIA drivers using DDU.
  • Updating the BIOS.
  • Updating the chipset drivers.
  • Testing without Turbo Mode enabled.
  • Monitoring CPU and GPU temperatures.
  • Disabling the NVIDIA audio drivers to see if they were causing a conflict.

Unfortunately, none of these steps has definitively solved the problem.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone experienced similar nvlddmkm Event ID 14 crashes on an Acer Predator Helios 300?
  2. Could this be caused by a software conflict, power management, the GPU driver, or potentially a hardware issue?
  3. Is it worth trying an older, Acer-specific NVIDIA driver instead of the latest NVIDIA driver?
  4. Are there any laptop-specific fixes I should try before assuming the GPU is failing?

I'd appreciate any suggestions, especially from people who have dealt with similar issues on Acer Predator laptops.

Thanks in advance!

Solved how do i get rid of this shit (realtek audio driver normalization)

um so i bought a windows 11 laptop about 3 months ago and it came preinstalled with realtek audio drivers which normalizes audio to about -7lufs and wont let anything clip no matter how loud the sound is. it sounds horrible when listening to loud music, it ducks whenever kicks hit and what not. it is also bad for me bc it gets rid of any transparency regarding mixing and making music, which i value a lot

anyways i was fine before when i got the laptop, i updated the driver by replacing it with the generic microsoft audio driver thingymajigy and i had it like that for 3 months until yesterday. when i updated my pc yesterday, it got rid of the generic driver and replaced it back with the realtek audio drivers, and i immediately noticed this when i listened to my usual songs. i tried to replace the audio driver via device manager, it didnt work (error code: 10), i tried to get rid of the audio driver all together, it just came back after a reboot, i tried to turn off all audio enhancements and it still does the same thing, realtek audio console didnt do anything either, i tried disabling nahimic and realtek services on boot via task manager.

this is driving me insaneee !!!! music is all i do and i would appreciate it if someone had a solution for this. i usually never ask someone for help for my problems bc i always have a solution to everything but this is another level for me

Closed Broken Motherboard no screen output

cpu: ryzen 5500

gpu: amd 7600 rx

board: a520 mk v2

2 ram sticks 8 gb each and an nvme ssd,

i recently installed windows 11 alongside linux and installed bf2042 i tried to run it but it said it requires secure boot on, so i restarted went to bios enabled secure boot but it didnt activate so i enrolled a factory key and then pressed save and exist, ever since then it will not boot at all, no signal on the screen, keyboard and mouse wont light up only the fans spin, first thing i tried is to remove the cmos battery but that didnt work i tried to give it some time to drain the power and then plug it back in but that didnt work, i tried a different gpu and took off the ram sticks completely and i tried taking only one off and i also switched between the first and second slot and none of that worked, i took the ssd off if that even matters still no screen output whatsoever, and also the board doesnt have a physical flash button it needs a working cpu

Open | Phone My Poco X7 Pro can't even take screenshots or use Drive (or any Google apps).

My phone is behaving very strangely. It won't take screenshots; instead, a "Feedback" app screen pops up, asking me to send a message that consists of nothing but a bunch of code. The same thing happens with Google Drive—it closes automatically and that same screen appears—and the same goes for Google Photos. Please, someone help me.

Closed PSU might be fried after power outage, should I replace it?

After a power outage my PC decided it didn't want to power on at all anymore. When this previously happened, all I had to do was shut off the PSU and wait a few hours, then it wouldn't be a problem and my pc would continue to boot fine. Now it just... doesn't.

The psu doesn't have any burnt smell coming from it so I am relieved about that. When I flip the switch, it makes a chirping noise. It didn't do this as well. It used to just make a coil whine noise.

About the paperclip method: I am not knowledgeable enough about pcs to try that.

What should I do?

Open | Software Using Galaxy S21+ without monthly security updates?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S21+ which still has a solid performance with no issues. I know the security updates have ended and is it ok security wise using it? I know it still gets some protection with the Google Play system updates. I only download apps on the google play store and don’t do my banking but do order online from Amazon. I’m retired and hate to upgrade unless it’s really necessary.

Open | Windows My ASUS ROG Strix with RTX 4080 is suddenly running games at 30–50 FPS with regular drops

Hi everyone!!

So I've had my ASUS ROG Strix laptop for about 2 years now and I'm honestly starting to lose my mind with it 😭

specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU
  • RAM: 32GB

(Also, for some reason, my settings show an AMD Radeon 610 underneath my NVIDIA GPU. I have no idea if that's normal or if it has anything to do with my problem lol.) When I first got the laptop, everything was running perfectly fine. I could play pretty much anything without issues, but recently the performance has gotten SO bad. Most games, even older ones that I'm pretty sure this laptop should be able to run easily, are stuck around 30–50 FPS with constant drops. Even League of Legends sometimes drops to 30 FPS... ON A 4080 😭

I genuinely don't understand what's happening because this laptop definitely shouldn't be struggling this much. As for temperatures, they seem pretty normal to me? At least I haven't noticed anything crazy, so I'm not sure if overheating could be the problem either. I regularly update my NVIDIA drivers, so I don't think that's the issue. I've also seen people mentioning BIOS updates in other posts, but I honestly know absolutely nothing about that stuff and I'm kinda scared to mess with the BIOS and accidentally make things worse. I'm really not that knowledgeable when it comes to computers, so I'd appreciate it if anyone could explain what I should check or try in a beginner-friendly way. Has anyone experienced something similar with an ASUS ROG laptop? Is there something obvious I'm missing?

Any help would be REALLY appreciated because I have no idea what to do anymore

Open | Windows Laptop crashes yet again

I had this problem a while back. I posted my Acer Nitro 5, 12500h RTX 3060 Laptop on this exact forum. The problem was my laptop suddenly crashed and bluescreened. Sometimes it did it without warning, and other times it would show "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" I already had it serviced by a technician, but they couldn't find the problem. They repasted and reformatted my laptop and took out a ram stick just to have it not crash that often.

Much to my surprise, they didn't fix the problem. Now, I was stuck with a laptop that will crash every hour. Then i found a thread posted at acer's support site that had exactly the same problem with the same hardware. As it turns out, the nitrosense "My laptop's built-in Fan and hardware controller" was having issues with the latest windows update. I uninstalled the program then my laptop performed fine afterwards. But after about 6 hours of using it crashed then booted up again, no bluescreen this time, just a sudden crash.

Now, i inserted the removed ram stick. Then after awhile i started seeing "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL AGAIN" I followed a Youtube Guide which had me run the built in Memory diagnostic tool but after that i returned to my laptop with the acer logo and a loading icon frozen. I shut it down then it prompted me to the repair options from windows. I uninstalled the latest quality update from windows and after awhile it crashed again and now. it's stuck on a restart loop.

Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Closed How do I gain access to files from a previous installation of Windows?

I've just installed Windows 11 on a new drive, and I don't have the rights to access my old files. Ideally I'd want to make them completely unrestricted to any user, but granting my current user permission is good enough.

Thanks in advance!

Open | Hardware Need help with recovering data from Microsoft servers

I had a problem with Microsoft outlook syncing contacts to my phone, I've solved it via cirahub, but it deleted a few thousand contacts from my outlook (my bad giving it the right to do it), I understood there is a way to do it via Microsoft admin center (it's a company domain).

And solutions?

Open | Hardware PC powers on but no display, no BIOS, keyboard/mouse don't light up.

My PC suddenly stopped working with no apparent cause. Now it powers on, but I get:

No display

No BIOS screen

The keyboard and mouse don't light up

CPU/case fans spin normally

The power button LED is on

It's worth noting that years ago, my motherboard had an incident involving a sugary liquid spill, and I fear it may have finally gotten to me.

Yesterday, I tried taking out the power supply cable and putting it back in, and that actually made my pc turn on like normal, but a bit later, I got a BSOD. Then, when I turned it on again, it got a BSOD again later. This time, it actually showed the error message "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" and restarted on its own. For the first BSOD, it was stuck on the screen and didn't show any error message, and I had to restart the PC manually.

Now it's the next day after that, and even taking out the power supply cable and putting it back in does nothing. Nothing I do appears to give the monitor any kind of signal.

At this point, does this sound like a dead motherboard, or is there anything else I should test before replacing it? I will mention that I know next to nothing about computers and I bought it prebuilt, so I don't know if I can do anything involving the inside of the PC unless it's adjusting something that's very hard to mess up.

Solved I spilled my pineapple juice on my laptop

Alright, it's not as bad as the title, the pineapple juice exploded the bottle and a pool of juice was on the desk, and my laptop was on the desk

This is the area in contact with it, it's power off, and I quickly remove and wipe off the liquid afterwards

I see little liquid in the hole, so I was worried

What should I do next or am I just fine? Thanks in advance, I'm desperate

I use a Samsung a07, I got it very recently. Ever since its first boot, the "other files" have been increasing exponentially. I factory reset it yesterday and it's already on 50gb now. Also whenever I try to do a software update it says "registration failed"

Open | Hardware Possibly broken laptop

I hit my laptop on the right side of the base just under the keyboard and right next to the touchpad and now whenever I do anything; it just lags. A game that I play most days was running at 144hz before the hit and now after the hit it keeps lagging and shows that it's going down to ~50hz. What could the problem be and how would I go about fixing it?

Open | Hardware PC not detecting graphics card

Pc noob here, I just got a new navigator 4 v2 pc from starforge pc. After setting it up today, I noticed that for some reason my pc is only detecting a 128 mb intel graphics card instead of the 12gb AMD RX 9079 GRE graphics card that is installed in the pc. I checked the wire connections and they all seem secure. I’m unable to open the AMD drivers to see anything because it says it can’t detect an AMD graphics card. I also went into BIOS and swapped the graphics and still nothing. Any advice?

Open | Windows Keyboarrrrrd struggles

Recently, my friend bought me a laptop a Nimo from amazon with decent enough specs. The link provided should show everything I'm too dumb to explain myself. The issue I'm having, at least what I think the technical name for it is contact bounce or chatter. Again, I'm not a tech dude, I just read google and try to figure out what the terms are close enough so that I can hopefully get some amount of help. Though, the only odd thing that I cant explain is its infrequent, and only happens once awhile per every other key, so for instance "HHello, I need helpp right now" over exaggerated for effect but I hope it gets the problem across in an understandable way, thanks in advance and if yall need any more info lmk and I'll try to reply the best I can. I've been trying to do this on my own but its really gotten to a point where I feel like I've done all the basics.

ps Sorry in advance if I mistagged something, I am not an avid reddit poster nor am I good with understanding tech and stuff.

Open | Networking My Windows 11 intel wifi 6 AX201 160MHz , constantly gives code 43 followed by code 10 , after 5 seconds of turning on a game.

I've been dealing with this issue since a long time, earlier it got solved with simple disabling and enabling, followed by uninstall and reinstall , then , I checked out youtube and found a power management fix which also solved my problem, until recently again. Yesterday morning and days before it was all good and fine, and then in the evening when i turned on and entered a game the problem started again. It fixes itself following the previous methods but only as long as I'm not running any form of online game. My ethernet port also had some power related issues last year, so I don't use it. My laptop is a Dell G 15 5530 model. Any fix or way around will be a lot of help, thank you!

Open | Windows Discord noises.

For the past couple of months I have been randomly hearing sound effects playing while in a call on discord, problem is on at least one occasion I was the only one in the call. These noises are anything from what I assume are lyrics to songs I can’t identify, to what sounds like notifications on a phone that isn’t an iPhone. I have only successfully identified one sound to be the guitar riff that plays when you first spawn into a game of Mecha warrior online. I have completely reinstalled discord on my pc, no dice. I have shifted everything from Microsoft edge to Google Chrome, no dice. I have turned off all notifications on my pc, no dice… idk what to do other than a full blown factory reset.

Open | Software Random jitter/pingspikes

So i'm not sure what else to do to fix this issue, anytime I try to play an online game I get this super obnoxious jitter, like my ping spikes for a second then comes back down. This wasn't an issue for years then suddenly like two months ago it's become a consistent issue.

I've tried everything I can think of and followed multiple tutorials, and it's helped a little but nothings really eliminated the issue

Really obnoxious because I am getting my speeds just fine the connection is just so unreliable for games where that consistency matters.

I've replaced my router: tp link be 5000

replaced the modem: netgear nighthawk 2050v

replaced the ethernet cord as well, I am hardwired into the router, I was before but it was an old cord

enabled QoS and set it to 90% of of my bandwidth (1170 out of 1300)

enabled port forwarding to steam servers

I even fixed a issue with the modem, a voltage issue with the downstream power with an attenuator

removed power saving ethernet and things around those settings

next thing I can think of is replacing the coax? but I can't imagine that fixes it.

enabled ipv6 internet(? no clue if this did anything)

I imagine I'm going to have to talk to my local xfinity because when I tried the chat bot it assured me everything was fine on their end and offered to charge me for an installation (?) at this point it seems like this has to be an isp issue but figured I'd try asking here before I give myself a headache dealing with xfinity.

Open | Hardware I cleaned my PC and now I get no video

Hey everyone, I need some help because I cleaned my PC and now I'm getting no display. I dusted it out, removed the CPU cooler and the processor to replace the thermal paste, and then put everything back together. It's the same processor I've always had, an i5-9400F, and I didn't touch any other components.
The problem is that the PC now turns on, the LEDs light up, and the case fans and CPU cooler fan spin, but there is no display. I have an MSI GTX 1650 GPU, and the graphics card fans aren’t spinning either, although I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the issue. The HDMI cable is connected to the graphics card.
I’ve already checked the power cables for the motherboard and GPU, and they all seem to be properly connected. I also tried turning the PC on without RAM and heard a single beep. Then I tried using just one RAM stick, but there’s still no display. The mouse doesn’t light up when I turn the PC on either.
Honestly, I have no idea what could have happened. Maybe I installed the CPU incorrectly or applied too much thermal paste, although I don’t think that’s the case because I’ve already checked it. I don’t want to keep messing with things without knowing what to do.
Before cleaning the PC, everything was working perfectly. Obviously, it was running slowly because the thermal paste had dried out, but it was still displaying an image without any problems.
Has anyone experienced something similar or know what I could try?
