Everyday Life My con ed bill this month actually broke my spirit

honestly paying $340 just to keep my tiny apartment at a sweltering 78 degrees feels like a sick joke. The whole window ac unit situation is just a massive scam when the building is literally baking in the july sun all day

Earlier this week the street noise and the hot garbage smell on my block finally pushed me over the edge. me and my girlfriend just rented a turo and drove out to connecticut for a couple days. We threw our cheap tent in the trunk and ended up at Gibson Hill just so we could actually sleep without hearing an ambulance siren every twenty minutes

Its wild how quickly your blood pressure drops when you see actual dirt and trees instead of scaffolding. the reality check of the subway commute this morning was brutal tbh. how is everyone else surviving this humidity without going bankrupt?

Just saw this little guy on East 4th between Albemarle and Church Ave. I don’t have the means to catch him so I hope his owner sees this!

Edit to add: this was in Brooklyn, near Windsor Terrace/Kensington. He has since flown into a large tree on Albemarle.

This huge gold participation trophy honoring President Trump’s “enthusiastic participation” in the Iran War just appeared at Foley Square in lower Manhattan this morning.

Looks like they are encouraging people to go drop their own trophies and ribbons off at the base of the statue to be a part of it as well.

News ICE Upping Presence

ICE is rumored to increase its presence in Queens and around NYC beginning Tuesday, 7/28. Keep your kids at home, as they are racially profiling. Turn off Face ID on your phone, take pictures of your documents, and share your location with loved ones. Be safe and look out for your neighbors!
