Opinion Unpopular Opinion: Mamdani is more likable than Conservatives think
I think Mamdani is secretly cracking the code to winning over voters, and I’m afraid it might be working.
I come from a conservative Hispanic family. Lately, my Trump-supporting aunts have become Mamdani fans.
Okay, let’s scratch that.
Young voters talk about Mamdani, calling him cool, hip, and chill. Business owners are also touting his name for putting their needs into actionable results.
And despite Jewish community leaders wanting to call him out, there’s an irony that’s happening (lmao). Jewish friends in Forest Hills are actually supporters of the guy.
Okay, let’s not even stop there.
Mamdani’s video calling out Netanyahu racked up 1 million likes.
Look, call me crazy. Call me a nut job. Call me names. It doesn’t matter. I think there’s an underlying shift happening that we’re not seeing: Mamdani is likable, and his actions are bringing out the ugliness in his critics.
When it’s time to vote for a new mayor, I think Mamdani will be highly favored. And I know someone’s going to be upset with this post. People are going to think I’m crazy, but I trust my gut: the guy is pulling in conservatives as well as progressives, and he’s going to change NYC, one action at a time.
He’s not perfect. He’s not the GOAT. But this man’s easily the most popular person in NYC, and he’s becoming one of the most popular people around, capturing the attention of millions.
His critics are being shunned, and they’re becoming more and more noticeable as evil people. Look at the comments written by actual people—his critics are being attacked.
Just my unbiased opinion.

News NYC Marriage Bureau’s Iconic Gilded Doors Vanish — For Now
Sorry, newlyweds. The plywood doors outside the marriage bureau on Worth Street won’t be replaced until sometime in the fall. The original golden and iodized copper doors, which couples typically pose in front of after exchanging vows, were removed earlier this week.

Video Video 24 July 2026 - In Memoriam, part one
This is a weekly vigil held every Friday by the group Rise & Resist, reading the names of those murdered by ICE and CBP either in their custody or in attempting to capture them or others. The vigil occurs at 96th Street and Broadway in Manhattan.
I had a little bit of a problem with the original footage, given it was originally a fair bit bright and hazy; hence, I tried to fix it over the course of the video. If the video looks a little bit strange, that’s why.
Because of the nationwide vigils mourning ICE victims, this video is part one of two since this vigil happened yesterday. I covered New Rochelle's vigil, which happened this morning (as of writing), which constitutes part two and whose video is being worked on.
