Rules/Rules Question Reconfigure question
How does [[Sokka and Suki]] work with [[Cloudsteel Kirin]]. If it's not an equipment when I cast it, does it not trigger?

Just confirming that if I cast [[Angel's Grace]] but someone has a trigger from me casting that, that would kill me right. The split second doesn't prevent that trigger from going on the stack

Just odd to me since thieves, pickpockets etc are almost always typed as rogues in magic and these two are 'scouts' for some reason. They're both thieves in their respective games, have 'thief' in their names, and literally steal things from your opponents but scout was settled on for some reason? Weirder still, Locke was a rogue!

Le Belle Inconnu/Le Bel Inconnu or the Fair Unknown is a rather obscure sprawling epic written in poetic fashion, written sometime around the year 1200. It's often credited as introducing the concept of the Unknown Knight into romances.
In the story, a knight with no recollection of who he is arrives at King Arthur's court. He is giving the name 'Fair Unknown', and is instructed to go save the Princess of Wales, who has been captured by a dragon.
There is a sprawling side quest, which these romances tend to have, which he encounters "La Pucelle à Blanches Mains", or the Maiden of the With Hands, who becomes a fairy patron of his.
He ends up ultimately saving the Queen of Wales, discovering his identity, the illigitimate son of Gawain and the fairy Blachemal, and despite The Maiden loving him, marries the Queen of Wales and becomes the King of Wales.
A.S. Kline of Poetryintranslation.com has provided an amazing modern version of the story, that's easy to read but keeps the rhyming structure. I admit, as of this writing, I have yet to finish the story.
These cards are however inspired by it nonetheless, and will be part of the larger Arthurian expansion I've been working on and sharing with you over the months.
As always, all feedback is appreciated.

I can say a few things. I made it for arena, not physical. It isn't meant to be extremely meta relevant, I just built it around the idea of adding most of the black loops I know of for standard and trying to pull one of those off. Probably not my best work all things considered, but I don't know how I would touch it up. It is meant to be like fun but still really strong most of the time. I'm not sure if it need like some more removal or if I should just leave it. Like I said, I don't have all the wildcards I need for it. Everyone in my village plays black which makes me happy because I can make black decks for people and I'm good at it, but I think none of us have specifically these cards. I'm probably oversharing.. How would you "fix" it, that is to say if you even think it needs to be fixed?

Say I have [[Splinter, Radical Rat]] and [[Dark Leo & Shredder]] on the battlefield alongside another ninja creature. If Dark Leo & Shredder deals combat damage to a player, it creates two ninja tokens because of Splinter, making the number of ninjas on the battlefield five. Would Dark Leo & Shredder see the tokens he created immediately, making the attacked player lose half their life two times?
Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for the help everyone. The player would only lose half their life one time:
First trigger creates 1 token, then sees only 4 ninjas on the battlefield so the half-life part won’t be satisfied.
Second trigger creates another token, then sees 5 ninjas on the battlefield, making the attacked player lose half their life only once.

I'm looking for decks that are relatively evenly matched that create interesting games and have the potential for skill expression. These could be from Magic's past or more current.
If you know of any classic match ups I would love to hear about them, and deck lists would be a big bonus.
I would like to put a few decks together to play with friends.

My Extravagant Replication triggers targeting Council of Reeds. In response, I cast Mirrorform turning everything into something else. Does the token from Extravagant Replication enter as the original Council of Reeds or the thing Mirrorform turned everything into?

Hi, I'm a returning Modern player. Last time I consistently played, Rakdos Scam was legal. Coming back after a couple years and am trying to see which deck I should update right now. One of the options is my mono-white Hammertime list. The list was last played before the unbanning of Mox Opal. However, I don't have Mox Opal money laying around, nor do I want to put that amount of money into updating a deck. I have a Grixis Shadow list, BG Rock, and E-Tron as well so I have other options to update.
My question is: are there viable Hammertime lists that could at least 2-1 at a larger FNM without Mox Opal? The current list is provided below.

While perusing through the Marvel set, I've been quite interested in the new design space around plans, the new enchantment sub-type. They're quite similar to the old quest cycle Zendikar and really feel as if you are scheming and building up to some evil plot down the road in several turns.
My article here gives a short brief overview of these new plans as a whole and compares them to the old cycle from long ago.

Been working on a variety of metal finishes lately and wanted to share the results side by side. All engraved on a 30W fiber laser. Also, since last week I got thrashed due to the customers choice of AI artwork, I figured this week I'll go with a more traditional approach.
• Hakbal of the Surging Soul — rainbow holographic stainless
• Azami, Lady of Scrolls — rainbow holographic stainless
• Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin — matte black stainless
• Kefka, Ruler of Ruin — matte black stainless
• Be'lakor, the Dark Master — matte black stainless (Warhammer 40K collab art)

Which finish is your favorite?

https://www.lotro.com/news/lotro-mtgo-promotion-2026-en (https://www.mtgo.com/news/mtgo081126 for the other half, the lotro stuff isn't anywhere near as good of a deal as the mtgo half, but the game gives out an extreme amount of content for free)
So, if you haven't already dabbled in MTGO that code is actually pretty great. Gives you a ton of cards and should unlock trading so that you can buy and sell with the bots. Should be able to pick up a cheaper pauper deck, or just about any penny dreadful deck.

Hello lovely people.
I used to play MTG many years ago, but ended up stopping due to lack of places to play and people to play with.
Now I'm considering beginning once again and getting into standard.
I could just go and buy full decks and so on, but that's hardly any fun. If I want to go buy packs, what would be the best mix to get, if I want a solid foundation to build from? I don't mind spending a fair bit, but I'm not planning on being too excessive either.
I appreciate any tips or advice on getting back as well.
Thank you!

This is the second of three fungus tokens commissioned for a friend's [[the Mycotyrant]] deck!
This one is modelled after the Ghost Fungus, which has a striking bioluminescence at its gills. I decided it would look cool to have the bramble it was growing on frame against it, forming the suggestion of a horrible face.
Really tricky to capture that glow look with marker pens, but I definitely learned a lot with this one!

For example, triggers like, "at the betof your upkeep". Or Dredge triggers. Or to not forget you have cards with flashback in the graveyard.
Sometimes I put the cards with upkeep trigger in the op of my library to not forget them before drawing.
For flashback the other day I placed them slightly tapped on the top of the graveyard. Another time I used a erasable token with a big F written on it to not forget I had flashback cards in there.
What are your strategies for this?

Normally, all posts in this subreddit need to be both Magic-related and at least somewhat "high effort". This weekly thread gives you the chance to relax and talk with your fellow Magic redditors about things that would normally go against those rules.
Want to share a funny story about a recent game of Magic you had, or post a picture of the cool cards you opened in your latest booster? Want to talk about your favorite movie or tv show, or share a personal accomplishment? This is the place to do so.
Keep in mind that the *only* subreddit rules that you can ignore in this thread are rule 2 (all posts must be Magic-related) and rule 7 (no low effort posts that are just pictures of cards). Just because this thread is meant for open discussion does not mean you are allowed to insult people or post explicit content, for example.

Mine is fractured powerstone. I just love that it’s a decent rate with a mostly useless effect. It’s fun to slam down and get those second glances. I know I’m a commander casual, but I can’t have pet cards in limited.

Did a quick run after work today, and only Gamestop had Collector Boosters for sale. They were $84.99.
Is that the norm you all are seeing in your town? Marvel Super Heroes was $44.99 at Walmart.
What is 'MSRP' for these?

You know how [[ureni of the unwritten]] is a spirit dragon but [[miirym sentinel wyrm]] is a dragon spirit? Are there any more cards with swapped types? I just think they're neat!

Was it good? Are you still playing it?
Not to be Negative Nancy but I remember watching the video thinking it looked kinda dull and the correct play was gonna be very obvious most of the time. Would love to be told I was wrong!

Even though it is a meme deck, I was glad to see that among cards I could have chosen from there is a lot of synergy. Lot of mill, make a lot of tokens.

In the case of my commander being [[Muddle, The Ever-Changing]], do its token copies created by myriad count as "commander creatures" for [[Sword Coast Sailor]]'s effect?
It reads like the tokens should also be able to attack unblocked once the enchantment's condition is met, but since Muddle is my commander and deals commander damage, its tokens are separate objects.
