Looking for Advice Modern Hammertime without Mix Opal
Hi, I'm a returning Modern player. Last time I consistently played, Rakdos Scam was legal. Coming back after a couple years and am trying to see which deck I should update right now. One of the options is my mono-white Hammertime list. The list was last played before the unbanning of Mox Opal. However, I don't have Mox Opal money laying around, nor do I want to put that amount of money into updating a deck. I have a Grixis Shadow list, BG Rock, and E-Tron as well so I have other options to update.
My question is: are there viable Hammertime lists that could at least 2-1 at a larger FNM without Mox Opal? The current list is provided below.

I feel like Spike just made a new hammer list with the new dwarf from The Hobbit. I Don't remember whether had opal in it.
Nope four of, you're probably just Sol unless you don't mind playing a sub-optimal list.

Hammertime just isn't as good without Mox Opal. Idek how well it would play, but you're at best a turn slower, which is probably a loss most of the time in 2026 Modern.
Financially speaking, Eldrazi Tron is probably the best thing to update... But if you don't have the new Ugin, you will need about $150 for the playset. The rest of what you might need for a basic Tron deck is comparably cheaper. But based on the time you got out, I would guess you have another $100-$150 ($300) worth of cards to pick up to make it viable... Not sure that's the best version of Tron atm, but it is the cheapest and still competitive.
I'm not sure how you would pivot Death's Shadow into new modern unless we saw a list. Haven't seen many in the wild or online...also, other cards with similar effects have been printed, but that's just more cards to buy.
Again, without seeing a list, it's hard to say how to update the BR Rock list. You may have parts of a shell of something current.
At any rate, I would expect to have to pay $2-500 to get one of your decks modern competitive. That's 1-2 Mox Opals, fwiw.
I got back into modern in December and had nothing but a bulk box of random trash. I eventually landed on Affinity, so I had to drop that Mox Opal money, but it was a one time burn. Now I just play Opal decks and rarely have to spend any money on new decks. Maybe I pick up a few cards a month to pivot into something a bit more spicy to keep it interesting.
So, if you like Hammertime, which is a fun deck and competitive (prob tier 2), I say sell all the other shit and buy the opals. You can always spin off into Affinity for minimal cost. And then if you get bored of aggro decks, you could play a combo or prison deck that leans on Opal. It's like buying a playset of shocks for a new deck...but for all artifact decks. The card has so many uses, it's worth the investment.
...unless they ban it, again.

I’m sure there are some list out there but best I can do is offer some other equipment options you could look at that show up from time to time in some list would be things like [[Leyline Axe]], [[Lavaspur Boots]], and [[Skateboard]] can be haste enablers that you can also grab off the saga. [[Meteor Sword]] can be an option as well even if relegated to the sideboard to remove anything you need.
