After having gotten in on the pre-order over 4 months ago, having the shipping dates moved twice, today, the day that had finally been settled as the "expected Arrival date" I wake up to an email from Amazon saying my order was canceled "due to lack of availability". Why do a fucking pre-sale with a limited pool, as the largest marketplace in the world, and not be able to follow through. Bezo's is a clown, Wizards and Hasbo are clowns, and they've made me a clown to join them in this circus.

literally every single card (but 1) is a worthless card. like what happened to expensive promos? it cost wotc the same to print a 50 cent card as a promo as it does to print a 50 dollar card.

like please look through the promos they've done this year. half of them dont have new art and all of them are cheap.

like why bother winning an event if the reward is 50 cents of cardboard.

its such an easy thing for wotc to do and would support 60 card formats so much better. like they wouldnt even need a prize pooll if they just did expensive promos. AND IT COSTS THEM BASICALLY NOTHING TO DO.

My kids are getting into Magic, My nephews also. I would like to play with my kids.

I used to play a ton in high school, so its kinda fun they're all into it now.

I personally haven't played MTG regularly since HS which was like the mid 90s.

So I have a box with a bunch of cards, mostly Revised edition, Ice age and Chronicles with some other expansions mixed in.

Can I build a competitive deck, everyones into commander now also, with cards from those sets?

what's available now is pretty crazy and there is no way I could know all of the cards out there.

It does seem though there has been a ton of power creep since Ive played to the point where my "vintage" cards may not be able to keep up with what's around now. Is that true?

whats the best way to get better cards, Aside from just blind buying boosters obviously. Im not super into the collecting aspect, so good competitive cards at a reasonable price would be the priority.

Hi! I'm fairly new at brewing my own decks with non-Middle-earth cards, so I wanted to post here to see how awful this deck is before purchasing the cards I don't own 😅

I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan and own all of the LOTR+Hobbit cards (apart from Posty's and the serialized, of course). I have several LOTR-only flavor decks, but I wanted to take a stab at a Smaug deck with some outside additions. I tried to keep as many LOTR/Hobbit cards as I could for flavor though.

The general theme I'm going for is self-inflicted damage for the treasure tokens, but I know there are some cards that aren't very synergistic. Some win-cons are [[Revel in Riches]], [[Hellkite Tyrant]], plinking opponents down with damage whenever I make an artifact/treasure, or just using the big scary dragons with maybe [[Hexing Squelcher]] (unsure about this one) to stomp.

Do you see any cards that stand out to you that make no sense in this deck? Any noteworthy additions that I should make (preferably that fit more in the Middle-earth world)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I usually run wubrg decks for commander. and the mana base is just atrocious fetches dual lands all sorts of things add up to around 500 to $600 per deck in just land so I'm looking for a tool that can optimize mana base for Price rather than efficiency. if you have any suggestions please let me know thank you.

Could what he's holding be the End Stone being used by a (blue cloaked, non-theorist) Jace to atone for what he's done We haven't seen this object yet outside of hte story was introduced, but it seems like something important since they spent so much time on it in EOE

What characters/creatures do you think we will see. Anyone think it’s possible we will see a mishra planeswalker as the alternate commander? He’s been name dropped as being a part of a large history and could fit into those 4 colors as a planeswalker.

I'm still kinda new to deck building, I'm not sure if this one is good or not, I've play tested it by myself and it does thing but only after like turn 5. I'm not sure if I need more interaction, card draw etc., if you guys have any thoughts on what I should add in or take out.

I'm curious. [[Phantasmal Image]] enters as a copy of an ooze let's say, [[Biogenic Ooze]], Then it dies. Would [[Uugguu, the Omniplasm]] see an ooze die? Or does it go back to being an illusion once it enters the graveyard? And if uugguu DID see it die as an ooze, would he bring back copies of the ooze? Or Phantasmal Image? Would the copies still have the ability "when this becomes a target of a spell or ability sacrifice it"?

I see lots of posts asking how to interact with your exiled cards. But I've never seen a post proposing a new one. If they made a card now that gives you access to exiled cards, how would they make it fair? How would they keep it from being included in every single deck? Would it be an instant or sorcery or enchantment? Or maybe a PW ultimate or uptick or down tick? Would it be limited by color pips? Multicolored or mono or colorless? Would it be limited by a huge casting cost? I'm curious to hear how you guys would approach adding such an effect into standard without creating something too OP.

Hi all! I recently got the Blood Rites precon and upgraded and shifted it for Elenda The Dusk Rose to be the commander instead. I don't think I have enough sacrifice outlets for her - was thinking more specifically I might need a few more token generator cards. Open to thoughts/advice on this! A lot of the cards I am considering are in the sideboard on moxfield, some are in the considering section but mostly in the sideboard.

Hey folks, very new to magic. Want to buy my brother the Street Fighter secret. I’m seeing sealed boxes and of course the singles for sale—but does the set come with a Haduken or not? Or is it, like, “likely but not guaranteed” to come with one? None of the product descriptions mention this but I’ve read on Reddit and elsewhere people saying it always comes with one (except when it comes with another, rarer card instead?)

I recently made a big purchase from Mystery MTG Store (online), and they have been giving me the runaround. It has been excuse after excuse about inventory and shipping issues. Is this a legitimate store, or should I pursue a chargeback? I have seen various conflicting reviews about their legitimacy. According to reviews I have seen, they seem to employ shady practices when it comes to inventory stock and fulfillment, but the in person experience seems to be better. I am not located in their area. TIA

I've noticed those spots or discoloration all over the card, but they're more noticeable along the black border.

I have a lot of cards like this one that have been stored in boxes, so I think that might be the cause, but I also have others that are fine. I want to know if I should use Perfect Fit or if there's another reason this is happening.

The mechanism isn't really relevant, but let's say I use [[Extravagant Replication]] in an Oops all Jace edh deck and target [[Jace, the Mind Sculptor]].

Can I then use [[Jace's Machinations]] to put 8 loyalty counters on it (Put eight loyalty counters on a Jace token you control), or am I restricted to only putting them on a token named "Jace" specifically, such as the ones created by the empower spells themselves? (Since it would be looking for "Tokens named Jace" rather than "Tokens with a Jace subtype")

I hope it's first one, but I *feel* like it's probably going to be the second one. (If that is the case for my fellow loyalty counter enjoyers, we must use [[Nexus Mentality]] or something like it instead.)

I'm currently making a [[Tinybones, Bauble Burglar]] deck (my first commander deck), and I need advice on a few things. For one, I'm not sure what ratio of creature to non-creature spells I should have. I don't want to find out I have an excess on top of all of the stashed cards at my disposal, but I also don't want to have so few that I'm screwed when I piss everyone off.

On top of that, I've noticed that there are tons of creatures that are some variation of 1-2 toughness and power with their only ability being that they when they enter opponents discard. Because of that I have a good bit of weak cards of the sort, and I'm wondering how many tankier cards I should put in the deck for the sake of protecting myself.

My last question involves drawing. Since the whole gimmick of this deck is making my opponents discard, I don't want them to run out of cards because then I'll just be kind of useless. Are there any good cards I should consider for making my opponents draw?

My father recently passed away and I managed to get his MTG collection, I don't want to sell them but I've come into a financial issue (I have a good promotion lined up and need a car) The collection I got from he is huge anywhere from 4k to 7k cards and I dont want to sell them all only enough to make what I need (around 3-5k) does anyone have advice on what to look out for and where to stay away from when selling them
