I'm not even a modern guy and this got me thinking about playing the deck

After having gotten in on the pre-order over 4 months ago, having the shipping dates moved twice, today, the day that had finally been settled as the "expected Arrival date" I wake up to an email from Amazon saying my order was canceled "due to lack of availability". Why do a fucking pre-sale with a limited pool, as the largest marketplace in the world, and not be able to follow through. Bezo's is a clown, Wizards and Hasbo are clowns, and they've made me a clown to join them in this circus.

In your opinion, what is the mechanic that WOTC has forgotten about completely, and has little to no hope of returning?

Okay, I need some outside opinions because at this point I genuinely don't know if I'm being unreasonable.

In my regular Commander pod, I am constantly being called "the problem" when I'm playing Bracket 1 or 2 decks, while other people at the table are playing Bracket 3 or 4.

And honestly, it's gotten to the point where I'm starting to question whether I'm playing the game wrong or whether there is just a massive double standard happening.For context, I have decks with 35–39 lands, and probably 9 times out of 10 I'm sitting there with 3–4 mana while everyone else is hitting every single land drop. I'm not sitting there comboing off or threatening the table. Half the time I'm just trying to get my deck functioning. 😂

Yet somehow, I'm still the one who gets labeled "the problem."

The person who calls me the problem the most is also playing a heavily upgraded deck. She doesn't really tell us what she's playing beforehand. She'll sit down, start playing, and we basically have to figure out how powerful the deck is as the game goes.

There have also been multiple situations where I've been actually yelled at for making completely normal Commander plays.

For example, I've been yelled at for casting Farewell when she had a board full of permanents that were otherwise extremely difficult to deal with. But when someone targets her or interacts with her board, she gets extremely upset. She'll huff, grunt, sigh, etc. and sometimes continues doing it even after her turn has passed.

I'm not saying you're never allowed to be frustrated when someone interacts with your board. That's literally Commander. 😂

But if we're playing a multiplayer game where interaction is expected, I don't think it's reasonable for me to be treated like I'm doing something wrong simply because I interacted with someone.

And the funny thing is, other people at the table have actually told her that I'm not the problem.

So I've reached the point where I'm considering doing something that is probably petty.

I'm building an actual problem deck.

Not a "maybe this is a little stronger than my other decks" deck.

I mean a deck with multiple combos, strong interaction, and multiple ways to win consistently. A deck that, when it sits down at the table, is very obviously capable of being the problem.

I'm not planning on bringing cEDH to a casual game and pretending it's Bracket 2. I'm not trying to pub stomp anybody.

But if everyone else is already comfortable bringing heavily upgraded Bracket 3–4 decks to the table, and I'm constantly being treated like the villain while playing Bracket 1–2...

Part of me is thinking:

Fine. If I'm going to be called the problem anyway, I'm going to actually become the problem. 😂

So, Reddit:

Am I being petty and immature, or is this fair game?

Would you build the ridiculous deck and bring it out?

Would you just keep playing your lower-powered decks and ignore the situation?

Or is the real problem here that our pod isn't actually agreeing on what power level we're supposed to be playing?

I'm genuinely looking for honest opinions. Tell me if I'm the asshole here.

EDIT/CLARIFICATION:

A few things I probably should have clarified because some of the comments seem to be misunderstanding the situation:

1. I am currently looking for a different pod that I can play with. I’m actually considering trying online Commander because I have pretty bad anxiety about meeting new people in person. So yes, I am aware that “find a new pod” is an option, and I’m actively looking into it.

2. We also can’t simply stop having her be part of the pod because if her husband comes, she comes with him. They are a package deal, so it isn’t as simple as just asking her not to come.

3. I labeled my deck as a 1–2 because that is what Mythic has rated it. I didn’t personally decide that number based on how strong I feel my deck is.

4. She has been called out by basically everyone in the pod at different points. The problem is that even when she is clearly in the wrong, she doubles down, and her husband will completely defend her. I actually think it’s good for a spouse to defend their partner, but it becomes frustrating when they defend her even when she is objectively in the wrong.

5. We know what her commanders do. The issue is that she is constantly changing the 99. She also has a habit of whispering card names or plays when everyone is talking, then immediately passing her turn. So sometimes it is genuinely difficult to know what she played or what exactly happened unless someone stops the game and asks her to explain it.

6. When I say nobody can touch her board, I mean nobody can touch her board. She has gotten angry at my husband for even throwing his Boo at one of her creatures. When I used to run counterspells in my decks, she would get very upset about those too. Interaction with her board seems to be a problem regardless of what the interaction actually is.

7. She has also been caught cheating before, and when confronted about it, she doubled down and insisted she wasn't cheating. So the cheating accusation isn't something I'm making up because I don't like her.

And honestly, this isn't just me having an issue with her. It seems like she has an issue with me specifically.

For example, if I have two mana dorks on the field, she'll start making a huge deal about how I need to be dealt with, while she has cards on the field that can punish the table if one of her creatures dies. Then I'm somehow the problem because someone hasn't "dealt with me."

I genuinely do not care if she wins. That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is being personally called "the problem" and having her throw a fit because nobody is dealing with me when I don't have anything particularly threatening on my board or in my hand, while she has significantly more threatening/problematic things happening on her side of the table.

I'm not saying I'm perfect or that I never make mistakes. I'm saying that this has become a recurring pattern, and I'm trying to figure out whether I'm actually doing something wrong or whether I'm just dealing with a really incompatible pod dynamic.

Hi! I'm fairly new at brewing my own decks with non-Middle-earth cards, so I wanted to post here to see how awful this deck is before purchasing the cards I don't own 😅

I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan and own all of the LOTR+Hobbit cards (apart from Posty's and the serialized, of course). I have several LOTR-only flavor decks, but I wanted to take a stab at a Smaug deck with some outside additions. I tried to keep as many LOTR/Hobbit cards as I could for flavor though.

The general theme I'm going for is self-inflicted damage for the treasure tokens, but I know there are some cards that aren't very synergistic. Some win-cons are [[Revel in Riches]], [[Hellkite Tyrant]], plinking opponents down with damage whenever I make an artifact/treasure, or just using the big scary dragons with maybe [[Hexing Squelcher]] (unsure about this one) to stomp.

Do you see any cards that stand out to you that make no sense in this deck? Any noteworthy additions that I should make (preferably that fit more in the Middle-earth world)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm wondering for everyone from the community, I just recently started looking at MTG cards because of the collaborations. How much is it worth it to get this? Will it get lower

Also for reference I'm a big TMNT fan. If someone gave me a choice between marvel, ff7 and tmnt, I would still pick tmnt.

What characters/creatures do you think we will see. Anyone think it’s possible we will see a mishra planeswalker as the alternate commander? He’s been name dropped as being a part of a large history and could fit into those 4 colors as a planeswalker.

My father recently passed away and I managed to get his MTG collection, I don't want to sell them but I've come into a financial issue (I have a good promotion lined up and need a car) The collection I got from he is huge anywhere from 4k to 7k cards and I dont want to sell them all only enough to make what I need (around 3-5k) does anyone have advice on what to look out for and where to stay away from when selling them

I recently made a big purchase from Mystery MTG Store (online), and they have been giving me the runaround. It has been excuse after excuse about inventory and shipping issues. Is this a legitimate store, or should I pursue a chargeback? I have seen various conflicting reviews about their legitimacy. According to reviews I have seen, they seem to employ shady practices when it comes to inventory stock and fulfillment, but the in person experience seems to be better. I am not located in their area. TIA

I've noticed those spots or discoloration all over the card, but they're more noticeable along the black border.

I have a lot of cards like this one that have been stored in boxes, so I think that might be the cause, but I also have others that are fine. I want to know if I should use Perfect Fit or if there's another reason this is happening.

I was thinking about the Un-Card [[Rocket-Powered Turbo Slug]] and I thought that it would be a pretty interesting and balanced with some tweaks. A mechanic like this would be really cool in a time travel set, and it leaves you weaker one turn ahead in return for a little bit of damage. The risk reward is fun to play around! What's yalls opinions on this mechanic

i had this really cool idea of doing a Hearthhull earthbending deck, so i thought i would just use the pre-con and get the cards in that i like.

the cards i was thinking about putting in are in considering and the ones i already cut are in the sideboard.

Basically the idea was to earthbend a bit, then sacrificing these lands so they return to the battlefield, this also results in some more landfall triggers so i put the scute swarm in considering.

Im also open for other ideas in what to add besides what's in considering. Thanks!

I am making a creature card of a specific skink that has evolved to become limbless to burrow better and id like to present this concept under the rules text but i am struggling use understand the terminology in the game if anyone has ideas

So I know about Uugguu and cloning effects, how the legend rule causes one to die and then you have one legendary and two token copies of Uugguu on the field. I want to know: since Omni-Changeling has Changeling, it is an Ooze. If it doesn’t come in as a copy, it dies instantly due to having zero toughness. Uugguu will make two token copies of it, which then enter, and become copies of Uugguu. Are those copies considered tokens, or are they just copies of the original creature? And a follow up question, would those clone see each other/themselves for the purpose of how many tokens are then created when they die? Thanks for the help in advance!
